  • "The lodge itself was ok but sofas weren’t the best for comfort and dining chairs are well and truly past their best."

There was no outside light for steps going in and out of the lodge in the dark. Obviously the view from the front windows was lovely but to the side of the lodge it overlooked looked big gas containers & hedgerow was overgrown & big gaps in the hedge, generally the ground at the side wasn’t kept very tidy. Kitchen not the best equipped either. Cushions for decking chairs were covered in creepy crawleys. We had to clean and wipe them before we could use them. Most of the windows didn’t lock properly. Swimming pool was nice but didn’t open till 10am which meant we couldn’t have an early morning swim before going out for the day, unless we never left till late morning. & definitely the walk/access from site to the beach St Marys bay isn’t really for anyone who isn’t super fit. We were there a week and struggled to put bin bags in wheelie bins as they didn’t appear to get emptied. Personally I think it’s over priced & feel I paid for a luxury lodge and didn’t feel I got that. I’ve been to much better lodges for less money.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations and that you experienced a number of issues during your time at the lodge. We apologise for any discomfort caused by the seating, kitchen equipment, outdoor lighting, and the condition of the decking cushions, as well as concerns regarding window locks and the surrounding grounds. Your comments regarding access to St Marys Bay, bin disposal, and pool opening times are also noted. We will share all of your feedback with our maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure these areas are reviewed and improvements considered for future guests. We understand how disappointing it is when a stay does not feel in line with expectations, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve the experience for our future guests. Kind regards The Riviera Bay Team Property Owner

  • "The lodge was lovely very spacious and clean lovely views we had a lovely time."

Just a couple of points perhaps to consider maybe a outside light for night time and a few more pots and pans but overall excellent.

BRIXHAM

Dartmouth 5 miles; Paignton 6 miles; Torquay 8 miles.

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
