"The cottage was clean and tidy and has most of what you would need."
There is a fish and chip shop just a small walk away and a pizza shop that does a very mixed menu. A pub is just a 100mts away and 2 down the road..There are plenty of shops within walking distance. We never used our car at all, the bus service is spot on. The cottage is on a junction so you do get some traffic noise. The stairs are a bit steep so if you have leg or knee problems then I don't think it would be for you. A nice cottage it was ok for us.

"Hi, the cottage was lovely perfect for the dog."
My only criticism was there was only 2 towels for me and husband and 2 for my mother, could have done with another couple of towels. The location is great for the harbour. Great pub up the road. The cottage has everything you need even dog bowls. Couldn't fault it.

"The Nook was a lovely house, nicely decorated and well equipped for guest comfort."
The location is handy as it’s close to the centre and only takes a few minutes to walk in to town.
We had our dog with us and the retirement block that is by the side of the house were very anti-guest house. Sadly one of the residents made it quite clear for his dislike for holiday makers and dogs.
The points which would have improved the stay: a more comfortable bed, and some attention on the smell of damp in the main bedroom. Efforts have been made to reduce it but it’s very apparent it’s got damp and it’s particularly strong by the bed head, got great for the asthma.
Thank you for your feedback, and I’m really sorry you were unlucky enough to have a negative interaction with one of the neighbouring residents. Thankfully, this isn’t a common experience, and most guests find the area to be friendly and welcoming — it’s a beautiful town that thrives on tourism and holidaymakers like yourselves.
I was also sorry to hear your concerns about the main bedroom. We take health-related matters very seriously, especially where conditions like asthma are involved. While there are no signs of mould or visible spores in the property, I completely understand how certain smells in an older building might raise concern.
The Nook is a Grade II listed property, and when we restored it, we worked with a professional preservation consultant to ensure all materials used — including specialist paints and insulation — were appropriate for the building and helped it to breathe properly. We also use dehumidifier packs by the windows, not due to damp issues, but as a precaution to protect the original wooden frames from condensation caused by the single glazing. We’d love to update the windows but unfortunately have been declined planning permission due to the listed status.
Thank you again for your stay and for taking the time to share your thoughts — your feedback is always appreciated as it helps us maintain and improve the experience we offer.

"This charming, well presented, little cottage had everything you need for a holiday away from home and the little extras (coffee, tea, beer in fridge etc) were much appreciated."
Close to local facilities, fish & chip shop & very dog friendly pub. Unfortunately due to its position close to road junction & Traffic lights it did mean that at times the traffic noise (especially at night) was intrusive. That being said, it did not detract from an enjoyable stay in a pretty part of Sth Devon.

"Clean and very well equipped."
Nice to have handwash, shampoos, washing up liquid, shampoo etc provided. Very central to the town and good to have a parking space in that location - it could be difficult with a large car, but fine for my small car. A very good set up!

"Very well done , lots of little extras even a beer in the fridge everything you need for a nice stay even tvs in bedrooms loved the way the cottage has been renovated ."
Little notes telling you what to do which are helpful . Car parking space in front of cottage (off road) tolitries supplied and lots of other things we did not use but very thoughtful . I’ve been to Brixham but always stayed above harbour which is very hilly . The nook is just an easy stroll down road to shops and harbour no hills to worry about also David’s fish and chips 2 minutes walk away great . Less than a minute up from the cottage lovely friendly pub . I would recommend to all my friends also easy to contact owner who gave me a lot of information for our nights out well done .
Thankyou for your kind words Helen and we’re glad you enjoyed your stay.
Look forward to hosting you again in the future

"The Nook was a beautifully presented cottage with lots of traditional features and modern touches."
The welcome pack was much appreciated after a long drive, thankyou.
It was close to the town centre and a great base for a week's holiday. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate at home several evenings.
A couple of points worth noting:
The traffic lights are two cars length from the front door and awaiting cars can be heard clearly as the front door opens directly into the pavement. The road can be noisy.
The instructions state no parties and be considerate neighbours but the neighbour to our left was not so considerate and partied onto 4:00am on the first Monday, so much so we had to change rooms.
The detail of the cottage includes woodburning stove and starter pack. This is not accurate. It is a gas fire. The cottage is centrally heated so we didn't need to use it, but it is misleading.
That being said we had a great week and enjoyed our stay in Brixham.
Hello There Mrs Hughes,
We’re glad you enjoyed your stay but we’re sorry to hear about the noise of the guests next door, this is also a holiday let but we have contacted the agents to inform them and to make sure there information is abided to.
The fire does run on Gas as it’s a cleaner version of the manufacturers solid fuel version so gives all the heat and look etc of the solid fuel type with out the mess but we apologise if this was misleading and shall let Sykes know.
Hope to see you again in the future.

"Nice clean compact property with all the amenities we required."
Only downside is the parking which is rather on the small size.
We had a lovely holiday. Brixham is very nice little place that is convenient for all the local attractions.

"The Nook was a perfect cottage for a few days in Brixham."
It is tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, well equipped and full of character charm. Lovely kitchen and shower room, and nice touches like decent coffee machine (and pods supplied), dog bowls, and even a couple of beers in the fridge!
The parking space is a benefit, especially as the town centre/harbour are only a brisk 10 min walk away.
We love Brixham and would definitely stay at The Nook again.
Thankyou for your kind words Mr Smith and were look forward to having you back again.
