"TREGONA is a gem of a find."
Great place to stay in a lovely village. James the owner is so friendly and helpful, I couldn't work the hob, and as soon as I contacted him he was there, showed me how to work it nothing was too much trouble, Great guy. The accommodation is spotless and well equipped, with everything you need. The photo of the exterior is a little off-putting but don't let that put you off, the enclosed garden is safe to let the dogs out, knowing that they can't get out. It truly is a great place to stay and we would highly recommend it. Thank you for a fantastic week, James in Tregona.

"We had a lovely holiday in Tregona which compensated for the poor weather."
The cleaner had done a great job and everything was pristine. The property is well equipped. We loved the light open space of the rooms and appreciated the enclosed garden for our dog. The bed was comfy and we slept so well in the quiet hideaway. It really is a perfect retreat. We hope to come back soon.

"We loved our stay at Tregona, especially the comfy bed, fluffy towels and very well equipped kitchen."
The shady enclosed garden was 100% secure for our dog. Everyone we met was very friendly, and we would recommend the local pub (which was also very dog friendly). The only small issue was loading the car in the pouring rain when we were leaving - it was about 50 yards from the property. We enjoyed many lovely walks from the cottage and would definitely recommend Tregona.

"Lovely location and a great, spacious property that was very well equipped."
The sofa's were a little too soft and low for me to get very comfortable but this minor point is the reason for not giving straight 5's in the marks. Lot's of useful information provided by the hosts, with many good walks in the area. It was a shame our dog had to be on the lead most of the time but this was due to lot's of sheep with lambs, and ponies with foals. The local pub, less than 100yards away, served great food and was very friendly. We would highly recommend the property for a Dartmoor holiday.

"An unusual building but in a very private location, nicely converted and spacious."
The bed was very comfortable and the large TV in the bedroom is a bit of luxury. The bath is situated under Velux windows, so a treat to soak in and stare up at the blue sky and trees. The village itself is great, with a flourishing pub within stumbling distance and set within Dartmoor itself. I appreciated a call from James the owner, to let me know the property was ready for me earlier than the 3pm check in. I had an enjoyable tranquil stay.
I personally found the airfreshner product unpleasant, completely overwhelming and unnecessary...in fact it had it's own mini break, in the garden, during my stay! Other than that I really enjoyed my time at Tregona.
Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated and apologies for the air freshener which is now on a permanent break away Property Owner

It's quiet and secluded in one of the best areas on the moors. We enjoyed our stay here, Flossie our border collie loved the walks on the many public footpaths surrounding the property.

"Lovely cottage tucked away behind the church."
We enjoyed the peace and quiet. The cottage is extremely well equipped, the owners have thought of absolutely everything. The bed was so comfy with lovely crisp white bedding. Our little dog enjoyed herself too, there were some biscuits for her and dog bowls.
The village is very pretty and we enjoyed a meal at the pub which is a very short walk from Tregona.
Thank you for your feedback, it is really appreciated Property Owner

"Tregona is not a 'cottage' It stands in what was the grounds of the old village school and I suspect it was either a school hall or extra classrooms."
It is a concrete framed building with infill walls, and subjectively it is not the most attractive looking of buildings from the outside.
However the conversion to residential accomodation has been done really well. There are only three rooms, a very large living room/dining room/kitchen area. A large bathroom with toilet/bath and separate shower and a good size double bedroom. It was pleasing that any temptation to squeeze another bedroom in was avoided and the whole accomodation as not cramped.
There are no ceilings as such, the rooms are as high as the apex of the roof, lending itself to the light airy feel, but making for a noisy time in heavy rainfall, there was a very large thunderstorm while we were there. There is more than enough crockery and kitchen ware for two people, meaning you can fill the dishwasher before needing to use it.
Outside there is a garden area with patio table and chairs, but a downside is none of the windows overlook any sort of view of the surrounding area.
Location wise, it is in the centre of the village and a very short walk to the pub. It is also fairly central for a lot of attractions and a short drive from the main Plymouth-Tavistock road.
If you are looking for chocolate box pretty, this may not be for you, but we thoroughly enjoyed our week in the cottage and the village.

"Lovely cottage, very clean and well kept."
Beautiful location. The Landlords were very kind and helpful with anything we needed. The cottage has everything you need to make you feel at home including dishwasher and a washing machine plus all other handy appliances. Very comfy sofas and TV both in the living room and bedroom. The only tiny thing is that the mattress was too soft for our liking, we prefer a firmer mattress but it might be perfect for other people. There was parking right next to the cottage which was really good as well and a pub right around the corner. We had a meal there and it was delicious and the staff very friendly. Definitely recommend the stay.
Hi Alicia, sorry to take so long to respond but just to let you know that during a quiet period at Tregona we have replaced the mattress with a firmer one. The company we used actually supplied the one we replaced, for the previous owners, and did comment that it was definitely past its best. Thank you for highlighting this matter for us.
Take dare & stay safe,

"We were very pleased with the cottage and it's facilities, but we were very surprised when we found that the kitchen bin had not been emptied or cleaned out."
We were also a bit surprised at how many cobwebs there are in the cottage.
Having said that, we will be booking to come back next year.
