Thurlestone – & surrounding area
A walk downhill from the house- leads you to the picturesque village centre, a fabulous local pub “The Village Inn” always popular in all seasons.
The warmer summer months, sitting on the wall enjoying a cold pint or glass of wine, and so warm and welcoming in the winter months with open fires and gorgeous food.
The Thurlestone hotel and spa in the centre of the village, is perfect for a relaxing massage and swim, offering packages for non-residents of afternoon tea and use of the spa.
There is a village shop for basic supplies, magazine and newspapers.
A further walk down the hill is the superb Thurlestone Golf club, anyone who loves golf this is definite go-to!
Thurlestone beach is a wonderful place to relax on the sand, in the most beautiful setting.
The south-west coast path is easily accessible via a short walk from the house, with breathtaking views of the beaches of Bantham, a walk down a steep hill leads you onto the idyllic beach.

The wonderful Sloop pub is walkable from the beach, great food and atmosphere.
The coast path- from the other direction leads you around the edge of the golf-course, with views of coves and the beaches surrounding it.
From Thurlestone a nice walk to South Milton Sands where the “famous” Beach Hut which is currently under renovation is a perfect midway stop, it won’t be long before its fully restored and a place where many will enjoy wonderful food and drink.
A further walk leads you to Hope Cove, stunning location with two wonderful coves and a place to enjoy again great food.

Kingsbridge – 15 minutes – a beautiful town on the estuary
Salcombe- 20 minutes – Bustling and Beautiful, enjoy wonderful retail , locally sourced fish from Rockfish and its many wonderful restaurants including the Winking Prawn and incredible sweeping views of the estuary surrounding the town.
Bigbury on Sea- 25 minutes – the famous Burgh Island and the sand tractor that links the beach to the hotel open all year and a wonderful walk when the tide is out.
Dartmouth – 40 minutes – known for its beautiful location / walks / steam railway ferry and river boat / wonderful restaurants.
Totnes- 30 minutes – Independent shopping, local food and drink, located on the heart of the River Dart.
