  • "We have just spent a week at Cherry Blossom with our two Dalmatians."

    The garden was completely secure and we were very at ease. The only suggestion would be to put a slide bolt on the back of the gate as there is activity in the day and delivery drivers who could easily open the gate by accident. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very, very comfy and all the appliances were great quality. The bathroom was lovely with a great shower. The washing machine and drier in the utility room was a massive bonus. The night sky was amazing. The location was brilliant and everywhere is easily reached.There were only two things missing for us - a television in the bedroom and a dab radio downstairs. Apart from that we will definitely be booking again. Thank you to the owners for a fantastic stay x

  • "We spent a week at the cottage with our two children and dog in August."

    We had the most incredible stay, the hosts were lovely and so helpful, the cottage was beautifully maintained and clean. It was a great base for exploring Devon and our dog was very happy (and well contained) playing in the garden. The children absolutely loved visiting the onsite pigs and horses and have asked to visit again next year!

    The kitchen was clean and well equipped, likewise the bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. The garden was secure for our dog, and the garden furniture was comfortable and in good condition. The adjacent field and woodland was perfect for walking the dog, and the cottage is in a very quiet area. In summary, highly recommended.

  • "The cottage is really lovely, cosy with a burner and comfortable."

    We will definitely come back because we had a nice and relaxing holiday. The hosts are friendly and unintrusive. Great location for a quiet breakaway. It is 100% true what other reviews say - the bed is probably the most comfortable we have ever had outside our own bed! The only comment I would make is (not sure if I missed this information somewhere or not) that it is a working equine farm with horses. The property is dog friendly, with a large enclosed garden where dogs can go and play. However, it is likely to happen there will be horses right behind the fence or walking right outside the property. I think some dog owners should be aware of that in case their dog are reactive to horses (wasn't our case so we didn't have a problem with that!) - it wouldn't be great to scare them.

  • "We had the most wonderful stay at this cottage and couldn’t recommend it highly enough."

    From start to finish, everything just worked perfectly. Check-in was incredibly easy, and the secure garden was an absolute dream for our dog. He’s a bit of a nervous soul and doesn’t enjoy interactions with others, so having such a safe, enclosed space meant he could fully relax. He especially loved rolling around on the grass and lounging on the laminate downstairs. The outdoor area was lovely, and we were lucky with the weather, but on cooler evenings we made full use of the log burner. It was easy to use and created such a cosy, relaxing atmosphere. The bed deserves a special mention - hands down the most comfortable bed we’ve ever experienced in any rental or hotel. We had two amazing nights of sleep and honestly didn’t want to get out of it, even though the surrounding area of Devon is beautiful and well worth exploring. The cottage itself is perfectly equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, the sofas were incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless with fresh towels and all the essentials provided. It really felt like a home away from home. The hosts were fantastic - friendly, welcoming, and not intrusive at all. We felt completely at ease and able to enjoy our stay at our own pace. Although it was just the two of us and we didn’t use the second bedroom, the space was generous and ideal for a cosy, relaxing break. Overall, a truly peaceful, comfortable, and memorable stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway - especially if you’re travelling with a dog.

  • "We loved every minute of our stay!"

    The cottage was extremely comfortable, immaculately clean, and had everything we could have needed. We looked specifically for a garden so our children could safely go outside and the outside space was lovely, looking out over the fields was just what we needed. The beds were so comfortable we even had a nose at which mattress it was so we could get one when we got home. The cottage was cool on the hot days which we really appreciated, and cosy when the evening cooled down. Our host was so accommodating and friendly, and we enjoyed our whole stay.

  • "Perfect cottage for us and our two dogs."

    The enclosed garden is a wonderful space to let your furry friends roam freely and safely, and the adjoining land is a joy to experience. We ventured out most days as we had glorious weather and visited lots of quaint towns and villages. The coast line is simply beautiful in that part of the world; we visited Bude, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Paignton and Torquay. Janine was a pleasure, very helpful and kind and it was great to meet the three pet pigs. All in all, we had a fabulous week in rural Devon, thank you!

    The owners were friendly but not OTT. We loved their dog Lola she even came for a walk with us around the grounds. We really loved the shower it was spacious and modern. The cottage is cosy and comfortable especially the beds. The private enclosed garden was perfect for our 2 large dogs. Would Recommend. The welcome cake and milk was a nice touch.

Cherryblossom Cottage is a delightful retreat situated in the charming village of Monkokehampton near Winkleigh, Devon.

This family-friendly haven welcomes two four-legged friends for the holiday fun, making it an ideal getaway for families or friends seeking a serene countryside escape.

Behind the doors at Cherryblossom Cottage, you will be greeted by a spacious open-plan area, thoughtfully designed to cater to all your needs.

The chef of the group can utilise the kitchen area to cook up some delightful feasts which can be enjoyed at the dining table, or al fresco style in the warmer months!

Unwind in the evenings with your feet up in front of the Smart TV while you glowing embers from the woodburning stove keep you toasty.

For those longer stays, there is an external utility that houses a washing machine for your convenience.

The outside area is a real highlight, offering a spacious enclosed back garden for your furry friends to roam and two very appropriate cherry blossom trees, walkers are also welcome to take a path down to the stream from the cottage.

Winkleigh is a small rural village in the heart of Devon's rolling countryside and offers a shop, post office, butcher and a cafe, plus two pubs, one which offers food and the chance to sample traditional ciders and scrumpy from the Winkleigh Cider Company. A van which serves delicious fish and chips also comes to the village twice a week. Winding lanes, high hedgerows and a more gentle pace of life characterise the area. The open tors of Dartmoor are a big attraction for nature lovers and walkers, while the hills of Exmoor and the surfing beaches can all be reached in 40 minutes by car. Historic Torrington, home to RHS Rosemoor and an arts centre is just 13 miles away, whilst the Cathedral City of Exeter with its Roman city walls, shopping centre, theatre and restaurants makes a great day out.
