  • "Upon arrival the cottage looked beautiful, when we entered the initial thoughts were wow such a nice property and then we started to notice things."

The place was in my view extremely dirty on all the hard floors (our white socks were filthy underneath after walking around) so we spent the first hour cleaning and while doing this we noticed cob web after cobweb especially in the upstairs bedroom next to the chest of drawers again we cleaned these away, the place needs a little TLC, painting and general upkeep, the sofas were ok but not very comfortable along with the double bed that was advertised as a king. I would recommend purchasing 4 chairs for outside the front as the property caters for 4 we could not eat all together outside during our stay, we wasn’t happy taking the indoor bench outside in case of damage Nice welcome pack was appreciated (thank you) and plenty of utensils in the kitchen to cook home meals, tennis court was great. I know I mentioned above about the cleaning but I would suggest whoever goes to check it prior to guests arriving it’s checked more thoroughly. We had a lovely break and thank you

Thank you Steven for this honest appraisal and I am sorry that the cottage was not as you would have wanted. I will immediately take action based on the feedback. Whilst every effort is taken to clean the place to a high standard, I wasn't aware about the hard floor and will double down on the cleaning moving forward. Once again , thank you and I am glad that your stay was enjoyable, Property Owner

  • "This is an ideal holiday home with all that we required for a relaxing break in rural Devon."

The standard of furniture and fittings is of a high quality. Although the complex is down a country lane, it is withing a short distance of Dartmouth and the surrounding coastline. We hope to return in the autumn

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I am so glad that you had a relaxing time. I very much look forward to welcoming you again later in the year! Property Owner

  • "Yes, this is a very nice holiday Cottage we were very comfortable here."

Everything was clean and easy to use as sometimes, you can get somewhere and it can be difficult to use some of the white appliances, or turning the heating on but not here everything was easy to use. It set on a very nice complex just outside of the main town of Dartmouth. Loads to do and see and very nice Restaurants in Dartmouth itself as well.

  • "The cottage was lovely and well equipped."

The coffee machine and instructions were a bonus. We highlighted a couple of small issues and these were dealt with promptly. The village was tranquil and away from the hubbub, just what we needed. We would recommend 1 Keepers cottage.

  • "Lovely cottage in a lovely spot."

Beautifully presented & very comfortable. All the necessary kit provided for a self-catering stay (instruction manuals for the appliances would be handy though). Lovely to be able to sit outside with a glass of wine (or two!) Close to Dartmouth and easy to get to lots of other Devon places/attractions. Really enjoyed our stay. Thoroughly recommended.

  • "Unfortunately the toilet downstairs kept running and initially didn't fill so had to fill with water."

Tried to report it but had difficulty getting through to Sykes or owners numbers given. Top lock of stable door stuck badly so had to leave unlocked and climbed on chair to open. Needed mirror upstairs as had to dry hair in other person's bedroom and needed hanging clothes space upstairs, as no wardrobe. Few niggly maintenance issues but generally a lovely cottage, beautifully refurbished and great location.

Thank you for the feedback. The toilet has been fixed and we are grateful that you made us aware immediately the problem occured. Stable door has had a little WD40 and all is well. Love the idea of a mirror upstairs and will seek one for future visitors . The Mezzanine area is a challenge for storage but will look at innovative ways to create some hanging space in the future . Thank you for your kind comments about the cottage and location and we hope the maintenance niggles didn't affect your enjoyment. Property Owner
