The property

With stunning views over the beautiful Dorset countryside, the Annexe at Valley View Farm is a lovely property in the village of Uplyme.

The property is adjoined to the owner’s property and you will be sharing garden with some furniture.

The property has its character with beams, wood burning stove in the living / dining / bedroom area.

There’s a separate kitchen and bathroom for your convenience. All one ground floor level the Annexe is suitable for less able guests.

In front of the property is a wonderful magnolia tree in a perfect position for you to enjoy a meal and soak up the peaceful surroundings, relax and unwind. The village of Uplyme has a supermarket/petrol station for the most necessary products, you may find some local produce too.

Only a short walk or drive away from the Uplyme village is a beautiful seaside town of Lyme Regis, famous with fossil enthusiasts.

The walk along the river takes around 30 minutes.

The return is uphill, so you may wish to take a bus home.

Lyme Regis centre has many independent shops as well as there’s a specialist fossil shop and the acclaimed Town Mill bakery with delicious pastries.

You may wish to dine in one of restaurants such as Hix’s Oyster and Fish House.

Refreshment stalls are bordering the beach adjacent to the town. The Annexe is situated by a public bridleway which leads to some beautiful walks to Dorset’s countryside what would make a great day out. Enjoy a day in stables nearby where you can ride one of the horses, or even bring your own.

You may take a pottery class where you can develop your creativity, no matter what age or ability. If you wish for a beautiful getaway to Dorset countryside a short distance from the beach, The Valley View Farm Annexe is a perfect choice. Nature Reserve and Woodland In early July 2018 the owner of the Valley View Farm has been trying to attract a wider range of fauna and flora with water, additional nest boxes and trying to enhance the natural habitat for the benefit of all, including the guests.

Even though the property has been home to animals and plants for many years, the owner is making this a paradise for wildlife even on a higher level.

She is planning to install cameras so that the guests could experience wildlife from the comfort of the armchair, some kind of ‘Spring Watch’.

Jill, the owner, hopes that the guests will enjoy using the area and even try and make a camp or something similar.

With many branches and plenty of dead vegetation that might help with building works, that’s an ideal place to enhance your bush craft skills.

The owner has checklists and clipboards if you wish to take this seriously and see what you can spot!

It may encourage future guests to take upon a challenge and tick off sightings of their own.

Nature Reserve and Woodland This part of Valley View Farm has obviously been home to animals and plants for thousands of years, but over the past few months the owner has been trying to attract a wider range of flora and fauna by adding water, nest boxes, and generally enhancing the natural habitat for the benefit of all living things (including guests). It opened in July 2018, but is still in the early stages of development. Jill plans to install cameras, so that barn and annexe guests can view the wildlife from the comfort of the armchair, a la Spring Watch. This is very much a 'work in progress'. Jill hopes that guests will feel free to try use the area to enjoy the wildlife and feel free to make camps or such like. There are lots of fallen branches and plenty of dead vegetation to help with structures - the ideal place to hone your bush craft skills! Jill also provides checklists/clipboards and encourages guests to see what they can spot. Help from keen naturalists and birdwatchers in adding to the list would be much appreciated, and give future guests the pleasure of ticking off sightings. Child must always be accompanied at all time and entry to this area is strictly at your own risk. The pond is deep in parts and therefore extremely hazardous. Our neighbouring property, Leys at Valley View Farm is a larger detached property; do look at this if you are planning a holiday for a larger group as you may book both or either property:

  • Oil fired central heating, Fridge/Freezer, microwave, dishwasher
  • First basket of logs provided
  • WiFi
  • Fuel and power inc.in rent
  • Bed linen and towels are inc.in rent
  • Off road parking
  • A patio area at the front of the property
  • Sorry no smoking, no pets.
