  • "The cottage was lovely, very clean."

The welcome pack was a lovely thought and the parking space was a bonus. Instructions for appliances were very clear. Wonderful location. The only small comment that I could make would be that the main bedroom does need a larger wardrobe this could easily be accommodated and the bedside tables could be updated to include more storage space. The second bedroom could benefit from a chest of drawers. The listing was for four people, but the outside space was only designed for two, with only two chairs available. A small patio set would make the outside area perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be returning I'm sure.

Hello, We are so pleased that you enjoyed the area and that you found the cottage accomondating. We apprecaite the feed aback. As this is our first season that we have made our home available to the holiday letting agents we are still learning. Once we have closed for the winter months we will make the necessary adjustments such as the chest of draws and bed side cabinents. The patio set we will explore as well. Kind reagards and thank you very much for visiting the area and using our cottage. All the very best, hope to see you maybe next year. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is fantastically located just a stones throw from the beach."

The kitchen is new and well stocked with everything you need. The parking pad works well and if you get the angle right you can fit a large car on it. I've dropped a star as there are a few improvements that could be made. The configuration of the living room doesn't work and it wasnt very comfortable or relaxing to sit in the evening. There were three of us and we struggled, so not sure what a family of four would do. If you moved the TV to where the armchair is and put a turn in the bottom of the stairs you would free up lots of room for seating and the room would work a lot better. The single beds could be more comfortable. I slept in the one by the window and it was like sleeping on a slope. The last little issue was that the cottage smelled strongly of dog when we arrived. You probably wouldn't notice if you have dogs yourself but we found the smell quite strong. The smell could possibly be on the fluffy rugs which dont get washed. The smart TV was great...we just wished we had somewhere comfortable to sit to watch it. If these issues were sorted this was be a 5 star accommodation.

Thank you so much for the feedback, interesting the configuration when I bought the property was with the stairs as you suggested. I had the property gutted and set as is, the modelling calculations gave the room more space, as seen all the furniture and beds are top quality and brand new. Next season I may look to adapt. The bed you slept in I suspect was related to the floor, being uneven as it is a very old cottage we know the floors are not level. Once again thank for staying and enjoying the area. • "This is a beautiful cottage right next to the sea."

It’s surrounded by cafes and small independent shops. Everyone we met were lovely. It is very well decorated with a lovely kitchen and the afternoon tea waiting for us was very much appreciated. We had a really lovely week there. The beds are really comfortable and there’s a small outside area to enjoy the cool breeze. The only small issue we had was with 4 adults, there wasn’t really enough seating in the living room but we managed.

  • "Lovely cottage in fantastic setting."

Welcome cake was lovely thank you and thoughtful touches like doggy poop bags. Parking 'pad' very useful but our Yaris only just fitted on it so a large car would likely hang over the kerb into the narrow road. Facilities were excellent overall and everything spotless and fresh. We did have a couple of minor points... 1. Storage space in the bedrooms was limited. Some drawers would be good. 2. There were no basic condiments, salt etc. Not sure if that is deliberate. 3. The step to get into the shower is quite high. The grab handle is useful but it could be an idea to have a safety bathroom step available aswell to help lower the height as you step in especially for those less mobile We had a great time even though the weather was poor. The cottage made a perfect base to travel the north Devon coastline. Note: you cannot take dogs on the main beach during peak season but you can take them round the corner where there is a more rocky beach.

Hello, So pleased you were able to visit and enjoy the lovely area, your feed back is most welcome. Regarding the parking pad, there is a traffic cone by the trash bins around the back should it be required, large SUV’s such as Range Rovers park on the pad no issue, the cone can be used if needed. Combe Martin have a web site as to when dogs can be exercised on the beach as they are targeting a blue flag commendation for the beaches, as mentioned there is a dog friendly beech within a short walking distance as well. Delighted you were able to have a great time. Property Owner

  • "Once we opened the door and saw the "Remove your Shoes" notice I did not feel as welcome as I might have!"

The no smoking signs dotted about are not needed but a toilet seat that is not loose would be most useful. The cottage is quite nice, but in the instructions it asks that you do not open the windows as they are fragile? So it becomes very stuffy. It could do with more than one comfortable chair, musical chairs was not on our holiday games list! The corner shop over the road has everything you would need such as toilet rolls and refuse bags. If the rubbish bin is full as it was for us, there are a couple of bins in the public carpark you can use! Combe Martin is a really nice place to visit, and although the nearby pubs and Redwood Cafe were not open in Mid-March there are others doing a great job. The Pack O' Cards is a great place to eat and not expensive.

Hello, So pleased you enjoyed your visit to lovely Combe Martin and the surrounding Exmoor area. With regard to your comments concerning the cottage, the signs are as advised by the good house keeping guides which are basically politeness towards the property as you would also see in hotels etc. The bathroom toilet seat will be addressed, with regards to the windows this has been addressed by a professional carpenter, I failed to remove the comment from the instructions, however as these windows are listed we had to protect the fragility untill corrected. Outside Bins are emptied at every turn around, there is a public waste bin 20 steps from the property by the beach, the car park was a little further. Once again thank you for visiting Combe Martin, the shops I understand are now fully opened as the Easter Holidays are upon us. Kind regards. Property Owner

  • "The house was amazing thanks for letting us stay there."

Loved the location and you could promote it better as access to the beach is amazing. Just 20 steps from the front door and you’re on the beach. Would recommend better directions to the property I found it as I have been to Combe Martin before (register it on google?) will be staying again hopefully soon
