  • "We had a fantastic stay here last week."

    The location really couldn’t have been better – it’s just a short walk to the shops and the beach, yet tucked away down a private driveway so it feels peaceful and quiet. The house itself is spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. It was also extremely well stocked with everything you might need, which made our stay even more relaxing and hassle-free. The view from the hot tub is second to none! We’d definitely recommend it and would love to return!

  • "A nice house with great views, slightly spoilt by scaffolding on the balcony."

    The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped, the host was speedy to respond to any questions and a wonderful welcome pack, unfortunately we were there when storm Claudia hit, so the use of the outside was not possible.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Coombe View."

    The property itself is stunning and has been refurbished to a high standard. Beds were comfortable and the sofa in the main lounge was possibly the most comfortable sofa I’ve ever sat on. Communication with the owners was excellent. We arrived to a lovely complimentary welcome pack, which was very nice. The hot tub was a wonderful added bonus and the views from the house over the sea were amazing. The house is a short walk from the harbor and positioned well for all the local amenities. Would highly recommend this house to all my friends and family and would definitely book again.

  • "Absolutely lovely house!"

    Didn’t have the best weather so spent most of our time indoors and had a great time, house has everything you need. Kitchen is fantastic, sofa is the comfiest thing we had ever sat on, the beds are next level and everywhere was immaculate! Fantastic that they allow dogs ours loved it! Hot tub is great even used in the rain which was brilliant! Only thing we would have liked was somewhere to hang and store clothes, there are no wardrobes or drawers in the bedrooms apart from the master bedroom upstairs that has a small hanging rail. And we had 2 dogs with us one that slept upstairs with their family and one downstairs with the others. The only access to the lower garden is from the self contained flat on the lower floor so we did have to disturb to let our dog out in the mornings. Other than fantastic would highly recommend and confident we will be back in the future.

Apologies about the lack of hanging space, we have been meaning to get a handy man to put up more hanging rails and get a small set of drawers in the downstairs area. Sorry you had to disturb downstairs to let the dog out. I know it’s not ideal in bad weather but you can access the garden out of the front door and down the garden path alongside the house.   • "Thank you for our stay at Combe View."

    The accommodation was just perfect for our visit and is somewhere we would definitely revisit and recommend to friends and family. Everywhere was clean and tidy; harmoniously and thoughtfully decorated and set out for a restful stay. Some lovely kind and considerate touches; the welcome gift box, paw cloths by the front and back doors, games, toiletries and outside seating. The hot tub at the end of the day, even in the rain showers!!, was an absolute treat. Thank you. Ps: I am happy for my comments to be published anonymously.

  • "Enjoyed a lovely break in Ilfracombe."

    House was comfy, welcoming and very suitable for a large family group. Thoughtful welcome pack and even fresh water down for the dog. View from the hot tub ( whilst enjoying a glass of bubbly in the evening) was stunning. Just be aware hills are VERY steep if have older members of the party.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at coombe view, everything had been thought of in the property and it’s very comfy."

    Driveway is small but I got my long wheel base Vauxhall combo van on the drive no problem. Everything we needed was local. The view from the property is stunning. Short walk to shops and harbour. We all had a lovely time and hopefully will be booking again when we come back to ilfracoombe. Thank you to the owners for providing us with such a great place to stay.

  • "Very classy and very well equipped ."

    Hairdryer, welcome basket of wine, coffee etc and fresh bottles of milk, plenty of towels, bottles of shower and shampoo gels.Every little necessity has been thought of and included.The accommodation is arranged on 3 floors, the parking being by the front door on the middle floor.Fully equipped main kitchen and the same in second downstairs kitchen with another fridge freezer.The downstairs is a fully self contained flat. Theres a pretty garden and a hot tub we sadly did not have the weather to try. Theres a large tesco on the way into Ilfracombe not far from the house by car.No walkable convenience store due to the VERY steep hill it is on. Parking on a platform drive right outside the house in a short cul de sac but only for a small car, turning is very tight.We managed it with a honda civic but only just, with much manoevering. Not for the timid driver. Its a new letting and everything is sparklingly new and classy decor. BUT the only downside is there is one large bathroom, and 1 ensuite shower room upstairs but only 1 toilet.The downstairs double has a shower and toilet to itself. 3 double occupant bedrooms upstairs have to share one toilet.That would be a problem with 6 people using one upstairs toilet and no toilet on the middle floor where the kitchen/diner,lounge and front door is So with a full house of 8 people I could see it being a problem. It IS mentioned in the details but we did not notice that and wasnt what we expected as an elderly group of 4 who normally expect ensuite to have a toilet. There is a tiered garden with plenty of outside seating with protection covers.We had poor weather so didnt get to see or use them.The garden and hot tub have to be accessed via the front door and a steep side passage or through the downstairs bedroom. As a party of 4 elderly friends we thouroughly enjoyed our stay.
