  • "A beautifully renovated, clean and comfortable barn conversion with everything needed for a relaxing weekend away."

In a row of 4 neighbouring barns, the property is located in a rural, peaceful spot just north of Dartmoor with a large enclosed garden for dogs to run around overlooking the countryside. Jo is a responsive host and was extremely helpful during our stay. Friendly neighbours gave us tips on where to visit to escape the extreme temperatures. Bude is an hour's drive away but a whole 8° cooler - stunning beach and river walks made this a great day out. We also visited Topsham with the lovely Goats Walk along the River Exe and a pit stop at Bicycle Route 2 Takeaway Hatch. We had a peaceful and relaxing stay, thank you!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay at Fieldstone Barn and found it to be such a relaxing place to unwind. It was lovely to hear that you explored the local area and enjoyed visits to places such as Bude and Topsham. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your recommendations for future guests. Thank you also for your kind words about our hospitality. It was a pleasure to host you, and we’re so pleased you had such a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Since your stay, we’ve also made a few further improvements to the property to make it even more comfortable for future guests, including cooling fans and a garden parasol to help with the extreme temperatures this summer. We hope to welcome you back to Fieldstone Barn again in the future Property Owner

Arrive and take in the rural setting before stepping inside to find a sitting room made for unhurried evenings, whether that means stretching out with the television on or settling in after supper with the day still fresh in your mind.

The kitchen/diner is centred around an AGA with a double electric oven and hob, giving the space a warm, homely feel and making mealtimes part of the day’s pleasure rather than a simple pause between outings.

When night draws in, the bedrooms offer flexible arrangements for different group makeups, including a mezzanine king-size with its own en-suite walk-in shower, a ground-floor king-size, and a ground-floor twin that can be arranged as a super-king-size on request.

A bathroom with a freestanding bath adds a lovely finishing touch, ideal for easing into the slower rhythm of a holiday morning.

Outside, the patio and lawn provide room for al fresco drinks, easy conversation, and time with the view.

For days out, head to Okehampton to explore Okehampton Castle, browse the Museum of Dartmoor Life, and set out towards the edges of Dartmoor National Park.

In Exeter, spend time around Exeter Cathedral, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, and the historic Quayside.

Alternatively, make your way to Tiverton for Knightshayes Court, Tiverton Castle, and waterside walks beside the Grand Western Canal.

However you choose to fill your time, Fieldstone Barn makes a wonderful base for seeing Devon unfold at your own pace.

Nearby, North Tawton presents a traditional Devon setting with access to local amenities, while Okehampton invites exploration with its historic castle, scenic walking routes, and gateway position to Dartmoor National Park.
