Magical location nestled in the hills behind Salcombe.

Friendly and helpful owners who gave great advice on places to eat. Hilly, gorgeous walks from the door meant the car was rarely used.

This gorgeous little bolt hole is tucked away in a valley and is a real break away from everyday life.

The property was clean and fully equipped. The silence was amazing .. not a car sound just owls at night! A real gem

A delightful small cottage in a quiet location within walking distance of Salcombe and the coast.

Very comfortable and the owners were friendly and helpful. Don't be put off by the mention of the narrow and bumpy access road as a lot of the roads in the area are just as narrow. We had a glorious 2 weeks stay and can thoroughly recommend it.

The Dairy is a delightful, peaceful holiday property set in lovely grounds.

It is furnished tastefully and the whole place was spotless. The photos don’t do it justice, it was bigger than I thought it would be. Little touches such as flowers on the table were very thoughtful and Jane and Mike were both very welcoming.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Dairy.

Jane and Mike are super! The Dairy is a perfect place to stay for walks to North Beach, South Beach, Salcombe and the South West Coastal Path to Hope Cove. Bigbury on Sea is a short drive of approx 25 mins which is worth a visit. The Dairy is very comfortable, clean and has everything you need. If you're looking for a peaceful stay in the country we recommend The Dairy.

First, I would like to say the property is very nice, and very well maintained and cleaned.

It is situated in a very secluded spot, which is very pretty. But, I feel I want to share some thoughts that are very individual but might be useful. The living area/kitchen is very small. I don't think it would be at all easy to cook a meal, as there are just 2 hob rings and very little space. It was fine for one, but the room could be just too small for 2 to spend any time in. The property is an annex of the owner's house. It is very close to them and as such privacy might not be always possible. I'm anti-social and don't want to make friends with the owners. These owners were nice, but when one said 'I would have come over to introduce myself but the weather was so bad', I thanked the rain! Bed was good and large and bathroom was fine.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Diary.

The owners were very friendly, helpful and kind. The cottage was lovely and in a pretty setting near to Salcombe, North and South Sands, as well as other nice places to visit, including Overbeck Gardens, Sharp Tor and Hope Valley.

The Dairy is a gem set in a beautiful landscape.

We couldn’t have asked for more. It had everything we needed, stylishly presented and immaculately clean. Jane and Mike were delightful hosts, kind and friendly. We can’t recommend The Dairy highly enough.

Had a wonderful week's break at the Dairy, a lovingly refurbished one-bed annex attached to the main farmhouse.

Beautiful & secluded location down a single-lane track but just a minutes drive from Marlborough and 5 minutes from Salcombe. The owners, Mike and Jane, were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even when a short power cut knocked out the wifi and Sky box. Plenty of walks in the area & free eggs from their chickens for breakfast! Highly recommended

We had a most enjoyable, relaxing stay.

Jane and Mike were there to meet us and made sure we had everything we needed. Great area lots to see and do, lovely walks and beautiful scenery. Many cafes and pub/restaurants recommended in the information book, all good and serving delicious food.

This was a great stay in a great cottage annex provided by a great couple, in a great location.

Mike and Jean welcomed us warmly and attended to our needs for the cottage as well as with relevant info on the area, such as recommending The Cove bar/restaurant in Hope Cove. However, we also found that when we didn't want to rush off somewhere, we could just relax outdoors at the Dairy, enjoying the quietness and marvellous view over the garden, or walk onto local footpaths (such as down to North Sands).

A very comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings and peaceful

Mike and Jane couldn't have been more welcoming and made our stay at the Dairy really enjoyable.

The setting is idyllic, peaceful and relaxing. The property is well equipped and comfortable, and we were sorry to leave.

Mike and Jane were very friendly and welcoming.

The standard of cleanliness was excellent which meant a lot to us. We loved the bed, and are even considering ordering a similar Mattress for ourselves! We would have liked a small freezer section in the fridge to make some ice, but that didn’t really worry us. A big thank you for a very comfortable week.

It had everything we needed for a weeks stay. Very clean, and easily the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in! The location was perfect for us. Very quiet with great views. Plenty of walks from the doorstep, countryside and coastal. Jane and Mike are lovely, there to help with anything we needed. We highly recommend a stay here, we certainly hope to come back! X

During our stay they were always very friendly & helpful. Lovely quiet location. Log burner was very much appreciated during our stay in late November. The bathroom and walk-in shower were also lovely. Water was very soft great to drink, fed from their natural spring. There are many walks available nearby. Will return again. Jonathan & Susan

Larger than we expected.

Everything is of high quality and immaculately kept. The only possible criticism would be that the sofa isn’t terribly comfortable. The extremely high rating is fully deserved and we would not hesitate to return. Access down the long and narrow country lane could be challenging for a nervous driver.

A really lovely cottage totally away from it all.

Well equipped for our stay. Huge comfy bed. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a cup of tea in the morning. Very friendly owners, their dog and chickens. Long suggestion of places to visit and places to eat and also supplied us with a list of taxis to use. Would certainly return when we have more time to go off and explore.

We received a warm welcome from Jane and Mike and their knowledge of the area contributed greatly to our enjoyment of our stay in Devon. This is a wonderful part of the country for glorious walks along the stunning coastline and surrounding countryside. Most of the walks started from the property. It was lovely to sit outside The Dairy after a long day's hike. Our only criticism was that the sofa was rather uncomfortable.

We were quite late arriving but Jane and Mike were immediately on hand to welcome us and the cottage is compact but very well furnished.

The bed was one of the most comfortable we have experienced in the many cottages we have stayed in. The location is idyllic with open views, woodland with lots of squirrels and birdlife, and no traffic noise or light pollution to spoil the peace. The access lane is long and narrow but only serves a handful of scattered properties so we didn't meet other vehicles at all. We will look forward to going back to The Dairy in the future.

The cottage offers a lovely peaceful and relaxing stay and is fully equipped for all your needs. Lovely walks to local beaches (south sands being our favourite) where you can then get the ferry into salcombe which is a stunning area to visit. Loved our stay and hope to return again in the future.

A fabulous annexed cottage in the most peaceful rural location nestled between Malborough and Salcombe.

The property was immaculate and decorated and furnished to a very high standard. It has everything you need. I was there at the end of November and it was wonderfully warm and cosy. The owners are very friendly and ensured everything was OK. Will definitely be heading back next year.

Our hosts could not have been more obliging.

Very comfortable and clean throughout. If we would have needed anything Jane and Mike would have done their best to help. Fortunately we managed and enjoyed discovering the walks to the beach. We were blessed with wonderful weather and the majority of our meals were eaten outside. The Dairy is set in surrounding farmland and very peaceful. We enjoyed the chickens checking us out and Dora, the very friendly dog! Owls hooting at night was lovely to listen to while relaxing in the enormous bed. Thank you Jane and Mike. It was good to meet you and we will definitely put you at the top of our list if we return to South Devon next year.

Fantastic accommodation really comfortable bed and everything was spotless it was as if we were the first people to be there.

the location is really scenic and no light pollution, ideal for stargazers. The owners Mike and Jane are really kind and helpful, after a couple of days it seems as if you have known them for ever. Good beaches really close by we went to a different beach every day.for people who like walking, plenty to explore. We will definitely be back next year health permitting.

Mike and Jane were terrific hosts, wry hospitable and helpful. Wi-Fi was a bit iffy at times but when you’re that far into the countryside it’s daft to expect too much. Will certainly consider a return in the future.

The location is idyllic, & if you just wanted a relaxing break, you could enjoy the surroundings on offer without any need to travel further afield. We have just had a wonderful stay.

Mike and Jane are great hosts, extremely helpful yet unobtrusive. Facilities are good, clean modern and convenient. The location is perfect for superb walks - we've come back exhausted!

The Dairy was a fantastic cottage, which was warm, cosy, comfortable and immaculate.

We stayed for 4 nights & we were impressed with everything, the kitchen had everything you need, the log fire was laid & ready, there was a jug of milk in the fridge, which was a really sweet welcoming touch. The bed is huge and so comfortable, & the shower room was great too! We were looking for peace & quiet, & it certainly delivered on that front, it is such a lovely area, & the owners were so welcoming and informative, giving us recommendations for beautiful walks, as well as local restaurants, talking of which, they have their own fantastic cafe in Salcombe itself, which is also delightful and worth a visit. The only downside with the property was having to leave after our stay…… We would highly recommend this cottage, & we are currently trying to schedule in another visit later in the year!
