  • "Amazing Holiday property!"

Highly recommend. Clean and comfortable. Brilliant location. The property has absolutely everything you would need. Friendly and helpful property owners. We will definitely be booking this property again in the future. 10/10.

  • "Wonderful cabin with everything you need for a comfortable stay."

Great location for exploring Exmoor and the coast. Coombe Martin is a little quiet out of season but still a great seaside village with walks from your doorstep.

  • "My husband is a wheelchair user so rang Sykes to ask if it would be suitable and was told it was ok ."

Luckily we asked the owner a day before we travelled when we were sent their details and was told the toilets were not accessible so had to buy a folding commode for £90 . We had booked hotels for the journey there and back as it took us 7 hours and my daughter and son in law had booked the time off so felt we couldn’t cancel at that stage . I always ring when booking accommodation and don’t book online as my husband cannot walk . Disappointed you don’t have all the information about the cottages to hand .

  • "This was the second time that we had booked with Sykes Cottages and again it didn’t disappoint."

The Cabin was very spacious and it had everything you could possibly want. There was parking for 3 cars although it was a bit of an art parking if yours was the third car especially when somebody had parked on the opposite side of the road to the drive. There was plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. The oven was good although food took longer to cook on the hob than it did at home. There was always hot water. There were 2 bathrooms, one with a bath and toilet and the other with a shower and toilet, the water was always hot. It had a very well equipped kitchen. There were loads of children’s games, there was even fishing nets and crabbing nets and buckets. There was a washing line with pegs. The garden wasn’t overly big but there were plenty of seats and we had the sunshine. It was situated at the top end of the High Street and was a trek to the beach, but one in the car. It was very well situated to drive to places. We went to the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park which was only a 2 minute drive away, and also Watermouth Castle which was on the way to Ilfracombe, both places were worth going to. We went to The Sandy Cove Hotel, just before Watermouth Castle and the views are stunning and their afternoon tea was scrummy. There was a lovely pub, George and Dragon, a few yards up the road, which was lovely, really good food, lovely management and staff. All in all we couldn’t have asked for better, a home from home once again. Thank you.

  • "The cabin was lovely, great location, clean and spacious enough for 2 families and 3 dogs."

Abi was really helpful and there was lots of local information available. The garden is fairly small but bigger than it appears on the photos and perfect for just letting the dogs out. Would highly recommend.

  • "Back door to very small rear garden leads off from the master bedroom which can be very annoying when you have dogs and family that want to sit in garden in the evening."

Also a folder with property and local information would have been useful as would a washer dryer esp as Devon weather not very kind at times. The village of Combe Martin is very run down compared to other places in the area with lots of closed down shops, pubs etc.

The owners kept us informed about everything. The cabin had everything and more than youd need for a holiday. It was a great base to see Devon. Local pubs were very friendly. Great place to stay with dogs, most places are dog friendly.

  • "The cabin is clean, welcoming & located well."

There is plenty of room & space to unwind. Abi had put some fresh flowers out along with doggy treats & lovely fudge. Also a small pack with tea, coffee, sugar & milk. Wonderful. The only negative is the king bed (en suite), the mattress sinks in the middle & we found it most uncomfortable. Its a sign of the springs gone & needing replacement. Also, there are several weeds around the front door & driveway which look awful & need clearing. The front door needs cleaning. Other than that, interior was spotless & we would return.

  • "The Cabin has everything you need for your holiday."

Very spacious and the most important thing was a very secure garden for our dogs. Though not a problem for us the door to the back garden was through the main bedroom. Which could be a problem in the night if a dog needs to go out. The kitchen is very roomy and well equipped. Outside the cabin is the bus stop. Children do tend to congregate on the drive waiting for their school bus. Not a problem though a bit of a shock when we opened the curtains and a dozen well behaved children were standing outside the window. On arrival Abi had left us tea, coffee, sugar, fresh flowers on the dinning room table, milk and some biscuits for the dogs. Also a curtesy call mid week to see we were ok. Very much appreciated. If we visit North Devon again we would certainly like to stay at the cabin.

Made to feel very welcome by the owners and had a hamper with tea etc upon our arrival. In a great location with a fantastic Fish & Chip shop opposite. Very friendly people and a fantastic base to explore the North Devon coast. Our great British weather did not dampen our stay with plenty to see and do in the area. Our day rounded of perfectly with a drink in the George & Dragon less than 200yrs away where we were made to feel very welcome.

  • "Abi has thought of everything to make a holiday easy, comfortable and enjoyable."

The cabin is deceptive, it is very spacious inside with high ceilings which add to the feeling of space. The kitchen is very well equipped with all essentials. I liked the way the owner had really thought about what was necessary, not just cluttering it with cast off kitchen items. There is a lovely view of the nearby Church from the kitchen window. The garden is small, but there is grass and it is fully enclosed and safe for dogs. It's a walk down to the sea, but there are alternative country footpaths if you want to avoid the busy street. Lovely to have easy car parking at the property.

The owners Abi and Courtney were super, giving us the privacy you want but the reassurance they’re only a call away. The Cabin was beautifully clean and extremely welcoming after a long journey. An ideal base to explore North Devon with many places within a 10 to 50 minute car journey. Combe Martin is a quaint and bountiful town with very friendly locals and Ilfracombe is a must visit town just 5 minutes away. After a great day exploring the area our return to the Cabin was a welcome retreat with super facilities and space to relax and recharge for the following day. Simply the Cabin gives you everything you need as a foundation for whatever type of holiday you’re looking for, whether adventure, exploration or purely beautiful walks in stunning scenery. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

The space was palatial and everything we could need was to hand. ALL of the beds were comfortable (a rare thing) and all of the fixtures and fittings were indestructible. We'd highly recommend The Cabin for families. The dogs in particular were very mournful on their first day back home - a sure sign they enjoyed their break in North Devon. I must add that Abi, although we never met, was the perfect host - answering a stream of questions cheerfully and instantly by text.

Very welcoming and homely, we stayed for a week and it had everything we needed, and more! It’s great for a family, brilliantly geared up for little ones but in a very subtle way. Living area is very spacious, very modern TV in the living room. Could easily fit 3 vehicles off the road which appears to be quite unique for the area. Ilfracombe is a short drive away and the beach is 20-25min walk (with children, quicker without!!) pubs everywhere and chippy opposite is worth a visit. 2 fabulous days out in the Dinosaur Park and Castle both less than 10mins drive away. I couldn't praise the effort's that Abi has made enough , as going on holiday with somebody who is on oxygen for the first is quite daunting as we never new what to expect and she made it a very pleasant and stress free time.
