Mixit Cottage

A lovely welcome from the owners of Mixit cottage, who were very respectful of our privacy.

We were also blessed with a lovely cream tea on arrival. We enjoyed the lovely space upstairs and downstairs. We also loved being so close to Kingsbridge and all the local amenities, especially Avon Mill who also provide a lovely cream tea. The pool also was a great addition. Unfortunately, the loo rolls were not provided nor kitchen roll to last the week. Also milk would have been welcome on arrival. Having said these things we would not hesitate to return for another stay.

Second time staying here and definitely will be back.

Beni and Jonathan provided a really warm welcome ensuring everything no issues. It is a really peaceful location, comfy accommodation with the added benefit of access to the pool and a little outdoor seating area, which was a sun trap.

Tranquil but only a mile from Kingsbridge.

A lovely warm and dry barn conversion with the added fun of a pool table and table tennis table in the barn next door.

The property was cosy, clean and warm when we arrived and we had a very pleasant stay throughout.

Our tastes are simple, so as we were resident over the Xmas period we did not make use of the swiming-pool, nor the beauty or massage facilities nearby: the property was decorated for Christmas and as the weather was chilly, we appreciated the warmth within the house.

Our second time at this cottage - loved it great hosts who like to call in for a chat - good location - nice and quite on a working farm - see you next year

A lovely cottage, well equiped & comfortable. A quiet area but close to Kingsbridge for shopping etc. Worked well for sections of the SW coastal path.

Lovely friendly welcome. Great, well-equipped cottage. Lovely to have the use of the swimming pool. Great area for birds too. We saw tawny owls, kingfisher, goldcrests and fire crests.

The swimming pool was a treat, clean and tidy space, as was the games room. The cottage was first class one of the better ones we’ve stayed in. The local are was nice, made more enjoyable by the excellent weather.

We arrived at a beautifully warm cottage, adorned with festive decorations, a sumptuous cream tea, and a bottle of fizz for New Year. Thank you! The cottage has everything you need for an enjoyable stay; the festive books and puzzle were an added bonus. Our hosts were friendly and responsive, ensuring that we had all that we needed. I have already recommended the cottage to friends and will likely return next winter.

The cottage is spacious and comfortable.

It is extremely well equipped. There was plenty of hot water and heating - if needed. The facilities are fantastic and it it set in an idyllic location - perfect for walking. Kingsbridge is central to South Devon and has sufficient independent shops, pubs and eateries. A huge thank you to the hosts.

We enjoyed a pleasant stay at Mixie cottage, the swimming pool was a bonus plus the helpfulness of Jonathan and Beni.

We had a lovely week in this rural retreat and were made so welcome by the owners.

The cottage is on a working farm so an idyllic setting. There is everything you need in terms of equipment and comfortable furniture and bed. Flowers and cream tea on arrival were a nice touch to our welcome. Kingsbridge is nearby and has a lovely walk by the water with interesting shops and supermarkets for provisions. Ideal base for trips to Dartmouth Salcombe Torcross and Blackpool Sands without too much driving. We hope to visit again in the future. Thank you

We've stayed at Mixit Cottage at least 9 times over the years and it never disappoints.

It's located in an ideal position to explore the South Hams.

We had a wonderful two weeks in Kingsbridge, and Mixit cottage was the perfect place to stay, clean, warm and cosy.

Such a beautiful stay at Mixit Cottage.

Was there to celebrate my birthday but it also turned out to be a surprise engagement holiday as well! Which made the stay all the more magical. Beni and Jonathan are lovely hosts. We had lovely cream teas and flowers on arrival and was also gifted a lovely bottle of wine to celebrate the engagement too which we were very much appreciative of. The cottage itself was really clean, cosy, romantic and warm. We didn't want to leave and felt blue when we got home. The swimming pool was lovely to use and we also had fun with the ping pong and pool table. It's very close to the Kingsbridge town centre so very convenient for shops, cafes and takeaways/restaurants. Bed was super comfortable, bathroom was lovely. We loved our stay so much we've recommended the cottage and Fixit to our family, who are now staying for Easter week. Definitely would love to stay again whenever we come down to South Devon next!

Had a lovely stay and the proprietor was very welcoming.

Accommodation was perfect and the use of the private pool was a great bonus, especially as the weather wasn't fabulous. Easy parking with plenty of room. Accessed by a country lane which was very pleasant to walk and easily manageable into Kingsbridge itself but not for those who can't walk far. Lots of amenities so food shopping was not an issue and enough coffee shops and pubs to choose from. Central for travelling and there was a bus station in the town where the buses took us to many of the large towns like Plymouth and Dartmouth. Would definitely recommend.

We were met by the owner who was very friendly also she had left us fresh flowers and a cream tea - access was a bit of fun as it was down a narrow lane and with all the rain it was a bit soggy but cannot fault this property and will be going back

A lovely, quiet cottage with all you could need and more!

Great for exploring the South Hams with swimming pool, fishing, beauty treatments and more on site. Needed more time, will have to go back!

The cottage provides all our needs and the swimming pool is a great additional feature. We never get tired of the South Hams. It's a great area to visit and the views from country and coastal walks are amazing. It's our home from home, which we have visited on a number of annual occasions. So much so, we have booked again for 2024

This was our 6th visit and we have 2 more booked! Beni and Jonathan are very friendly and welcoming. The cottage is in a great location; a pleasant walk into Kingsbridge. It is also a comfortable base from which to explore the South Hans. Love it!

Wonderful cottage for 2.

Lovely sitting out area is a real sun trap. Bed so comfortable slept so well. A swim each morning was an extra treat. Cream tea and flowers when we arrived was an unexpected touch. Beni and Jonathon very welcoming and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend staying here. The Hen house beauty centre on site great had a really good manicure (book well ahead) with Katherine

Mixit Cottage is a very comfortable modern holiday home in a quiet and peaceful location with plenty of health and beauty facilities in the neighbouring buildings.

We were greeted with a large vase of flowers and Devon cream tea on arrival and Berni pop in to check we settled in OK all in all a very peaceful stay, would definitely recommend it and will hopefully return before to long.

We had a wonderful stay.

The cottage was everything and more than we were hoping for. A lovely welcome from Beni and Jonathan immediately made us feel at home. We were looking for a peaceful break and found just that. Beautiful, tranquil surroundings, definitely recharged our batteries. The cottage was warm, beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. A real home from home. The bed was extra comfortable and we both slept really well in this little haven! We were able to visit many nearby places, Bigbury On Sea being our favourite. The pool at the cottage was a lovely bonus and allowed us to enjoy lots of swimming. We will be back! Thank you!

Mixit Cottage is a well equipped and delightful cottage, quiet yet an easy walk into Kingsbridge.

It is a great location for exploring the South Hams and there is plenty to see, even in January. The swimming pool was very good. I did not try out the Hen House Health Spa but I did get a hair cut on site. Beni and Jonathan are very welcoming and happy to natter about farming and their herd of Belgian Blues.

Our stay was perfect, the cottage is a lovely peaceful area, semi remote and close to local amenities.

Also with a short drive to many locations in land and on the coast. The accommodation was lovely and we enoyed the log burner on the colder nights. It was a nice surprise to have roses and cream tea to welcome our arrival. We would definitely look forward to staying at the Mixit Cottage again.

Cottage in a lovely setting.

Private location. Clean and spacious for 2 people. Just a 25-30 min walk into local town. Would definitely recommend.

We fell in love with Mixit Cottage as soon as we arrived and couldn’t fault anything.

Beni and Jonathan the owners of Mixit Cottage were wonderful hosts.

They provided a cream tea, fresh eggs and flowers for us on our arrival, which was a thoughtful and lovely surprise. The cottage was beautiful, with a swimming pool available for the guests of their two cottages and other other facilities were available. The people from the local area were all lovely and very welcoming and we enjoyed some delicious food in the restaurants of Kingsbridge and Salcombe. I can highly recommend this for a holiday venue and we look forward to returning in the future.

Mixit cottage is a fantastic base from which to explore the South Hams area.

Owners Beni and Jonathon are very friendly and welcoming. The cottage is a perfect home from home. We enjoyed an evening stroll around the 3 fishing lakes and it is within easy reach of the South West coastal path which we always enjoy walking. Beni has made the courtyard garden really attractive with shelter and pots, a lovely spot to enjoy the afternoon sun. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable, we had a lovely week...so much so we have already booked 2 more visits. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

The hosts Beni & Jonathan were welcoming and friendly and helpful, anything we needed we could ask them as they we very approachable.

Everything was clean and tidy and the cottage was well equipped and we felt safe there. There were some really nice personnel touches like the fresh flowers and the cream tea they left for us. We have been twice and we have booked to go back next year. Tina & Keith

We had a wonderful stay in Mixit Cottage.

The apartment was immaculate, cosy and warm and very well kitted out. It had everything we needed and Beni and Jonathan couldn't have been more helpful. Fresh flowers and a Devon Cream Tea awaited our arrival - it was perfect. The heated indoor swimming pool and table tennis table were an added bonus.

Very nice touch to receive a cr.eam tea and fresh roses in the cottage. Excellent location, walk into Kingsbridge only about a mile away. Great swimming pool and gym.

Great base for the local sights.

The swimming pool (never met anyone else) was a real bonus and my husband used the gym. Mixit Cottage was extremely well equipped , so quiet, clean, and our private sun terrace was perfect for sundowners! Great too to be able to park right outside the property. It was doable as a walk into Kingsbridge but longer than we expected and it was easier/better to take the car . Supermarkets were 5 min drive away. Beni and Johnathan made us very welcome.... loved our cream tea on arrival! They were happy to help us with any queries. Definitely worth a return visit !

Mixit Cottage was perfect!

It is in a very peaceful location, only a short distance out of Kingsbridge and had everything we needed for our week away. We especially liked the sunny patio area for evening bbqs and the layout of the cottage - living area upstairs and spacious bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The owners were very friendly, happy to answer our questions and welcoming us with a yummy cream tea. We enjoyed playing table tennis and pool but we didn’t make use of the swimming pool, as the weather was too good! Kingsbridge is in a good location for driving in various directions and has two supermarkets, as well as many other shops. We hope to return!

Great cottage, lots of character in a quiet area, ideal to get away from it all whilst still being only a few minutes from Kingsbridge.

This was our second visit to Mixit Cottage and it was as good as the first visit.

Just outside the town in a small deep valley the cottage is a part of several farm buildings in a beautiful setting. It is quite unusual in some ways as there is a swimming pool available plus various spa facilities based in part of the farm that you can access. We just enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere , there was an area to sit outside in a lovely sun spot and have our meals . The whole outside area is full of beautiful fragrant flowers. It is a real little gem.

Very comfortable accommodation for two in the lovely Devon countryside yet only a ten minute walk along a leafy lane to Kingsbridge .

Personal touches of cream tea on arrival and flowers. Plus a few paces away from what seemed like our very own private indoor pool. Kingsbridge a delight, a wealth of independent shops and would recommend a visit to the Community garden at the top of Fore Street.

Fantastic king sized bed,brilliant clean ,warm,swimming pool,all set in a quiet,secluded location. Went home relaxed again. Kingsbridge is a great centre for exploring south Devon. John and Joan Pagett.

The bed was 6' wide and very comfortable. Electric recliner armchair was also comfortable.

Other guests in a property also onsite were not considerate to other guests or the hosts and whilst not disturbing us too much could be seen as a problem for many.

Hosts kept apologising but it was not necessary and outside their control.

Lovely experience

The cottage was perfect for a couple or individual seeking peace and quite while still close to shops and bars, the fishing lakes were perfect with plenty of good sized fish to catch, the pool was a lovely temperature.

the owners were very nice people and were available if needed, all in all a great holiday.
