Description

2 The Old School House is a characterful townhouse set across three levels in the heart of Dartmouth, Devon.

With a public car park just a short stroll away, it’s a fine base for families or groups of friends keen to enjoy the charm of this vibrant coastal town.

Climb to the second floor and you’ll find the hub of the home, a well-appointed kitchen/diner, ideal for rustling up hearty meals and gathering around the table for long, lazy suppers.

On the first floor, the sitting room offers a relaxed spot to put your feet up, complete with a Smart TV for a quiet evening in.

From the upper levels, you can also enjoy some lovely views across the rooftops, a gentle reminder you’re by the sea.

Step outside and the front terraced patio is just the ticket for a morning cuppa or a glass of something chilled come evening, all while soaking up the Dartmouth atmosphere.

As for sleeping arrangements, the ground floor plays host to a king-size bedroom with its own en-suite (walk-in shower, basin and WC), as well as a twin room that’s ideal for kids or friends.

Another king-size bedroom awaits on the first floor, a peaceful retreat after a day exploring the coast.

There’s also a sleek main bathroom with a bath and shower over, plus an additional shower room, so no one’s left queuing in the morning.

A handy utility room with a washing machine rounds things off nicely, particularly useful if you’re in town for more than a few days or you’ve taken a tumble on a country walk.

If you find yourself eager for adventure, Dartmouth's local area presents a wealth of attractions to keep you entertained.

From the exotic animals housed at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park to exhilarating rides at Woodlands Family Theme Park, there's something for all ages.

Journey back in time with a visit to Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, exploring the fascinating network of the past.

Soak in the coastal splendour with a trip to Blackpool Sands, a hidden gem amongst Devon's multitude of beaches.

Or immerse yourself in nature's embrace at Berry Head National Nature Reserve - a haven for wildlife and a hotspot for walkers.

Finally, no stay in Devon would be complete without a visit to the National Trust's Greenway, the beloved holiday home of Agatha Christie, offering a glimpse into the life of the renowned author.

Curl up after a busy day of exploration at 2 The Old School House, your serene retreat in the heart of Dartmouth.

The property was spotlessly clean.

The beds were all extremely comfortable too. The bathrooms were beautiful. The views from the first and top floors were fabulous. We didn’t realise they were so good until we got there. Perhaps make more of the views on the website photos. The WiFi was rather intermittent unfortunately. We also noticed that the bathroom extractor fans weren’t working. Maybe a small set of draws in bedrooms would be good for clothes that can’t be hung. We had a fabulous stay in this gorgeous, beautifully renovated and furnished property.
