  • "On entering our apartment it smelt fresh and clean, windows were open and well ventilated."

Bedrooms were clean and airy, the only down side was the quality of pillows, they do need to be replaced with a good quality filling. In the kitchen area it was well stocked, on a negative note it needs new plate and cutlery drainer and a new sink tidier they were well passed there sell by date, very rusty. The apartment is well situated for a walk in to Dartmouth, unfortunately there is no view of the river. I would definitely recommend purely for its cleanliness and position.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are thrilled you enjoyed your time at 8 The Pottery. We have passed your comments on to the owner who has now replaced all the pillows and has made sure the drain and sink rack are no longer rusty. We do hope we can welcome you back to Dartmouth soon. • "Nice property, if looking a bit tired."

Lovely location helped by the fact that we have been to Dartmouth many times and know our way around. Double bed very comfortable with high quality mattress. There was only two of us staying but could be problematic, if more, as the main bathroom only had a bath and no proper shower. Found the sofas a bit uncomfortable and not very supportive. Overall a nice stay.

  • "On arrival found toilet lid broken/cracked and only 1 toilet roll in each bathroom for 4 people."

This was reported and i asked for replacement rolls to be left outside of door - this was not done resulting in us purchasing additional toiletries. Also a lot of dust and debris under sofa which was missed by the cleaner. Picking up and returning of key at the office was inconvenient and a key safe would have been better. Overall the long weekend break was great and if the above was addressed this would have made it even better. thks Mark

  • "Fabulous apartment and really well situated for walking into Dartmouth centre!"

Clearer instructions on where to collect key, as office had moved and number was picked up from a guy in Chester!! Highly recommend apartment!

  • "We loved the location of the pottery , Dartmouth and all south Devon had to offer."

We would have no hesitation in revisiting the area again. To be able to access the coast path so readily without driving was a real bonus. The apartment itself has a great layout with plenty of room for four adults and a small dog. Our only observation is the bathrooms are a little tired and must have been designed with smaller people in mind as the sink and toilet heights are quite low even for average height humans. This did not deter from our enjoyment of the property and is only an observation. We are considering a future visit.

  • "Very spacious, stylish and comfortable apartment in an interesting building, quiet location and an easy walk into town or to Dartmouth Castle."

Both beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped but does have limited workspace for cooking (not a major problem for us but worth noting if you're intending to cook every day) Parking on site is a bonus and it was a treat to hear the owls at night!

  • "We feel fortunate to have had a holiday in the South Hams in this difficult year."

The apartment is in a great location and has a parking space which is a bonus in Dartmouth. The bedrooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately the living area is quite dark because there is only one small window. We would not usually book pet friendly accommodation as we have allergies - one of our party was very allergic during our stay unfortunately. I would not recommend this apartment to people who enjoy cooking as the kitchen is very small and there is limited storage space for larder food - and no trivets.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are thrilled that you we happy with the location, it really is in a lovely spot. We can only apologise that one of your party members is allergic to pets, we do make it very clear when marketing pet friendly properties that they are pet friendly, partly for this reason. We were surprised to hear your comment about the kitchen as we have not had one of that nature in the past, the kitchen is compact but well equipped. We do hope that in spite of these issues you enjoyed what Dartmouth has to offer. Property Owner

  • "I think the parking instructions could of been clearer."

When we arrived it took us a while to find our parking space, because the number was on the side and not facing. We had to ask another resident and he showed us to a small sign on the fence explaining the layout of the car park. Thank goodness we didn't arrive in the dark. A printout of this would be useful before arriving, as it looked like those parking places were for the cottages and not flats. Maybe a key pad safe could be fitted, then we could have gone straight to the property and also would have been easier when leaving. However, overall we enjoyed our stay.

  • "The apartment is spacious, comfortable and well equipped."

It’s the perfect walking distance from the town and you can explore out along the coastal path directly from the front door. The bed was especially comfortable, which was a delight as so often a rock hard bed makes for a less than happy holiday. So thank you for that.

  • "Another visit to The Pottery was a wonderful trip for our family."

Clean and perfectly located for easy access into Dartmouth. We will be back. Only one point to make this time, the people in the apartment above No.8 were quite 'heavy footed' at 8 am and 7.30 pm for about an hour. Just thought you should know - perhaps they brought a treadmill? :-)

This was our second stay at 8 The Potteries and it was as enjoyable and comfortable as our first. The onsite off road parking is an extremely convenient bonus for anyone staying in Dartmouth, with the town just being a scenic 10 minute stroll away.

  • "A few years ago I would have rated this property as excellent."

Unfortunately I feel it has been neglected by the owners. I did point our the state of the carpet into the main bedroom to your staff on handing back the keys as it was decidedly dirty. The floor tiles to the second bathroom are mainly cracked and broken. I feel the property needs redecorating. I felt a little disappointed with 8 Pottery it is a gorgeous place it needs a little love. As we entered the property from downstairs we were a little put off by the two large boards stored outside No 4 and the fact that the owners there had decided to discard there dirty shoes next to the board. We are dog lovers but the yappy little chap in the neighbouring apartment got a little tedious. Dartmouth is definitely suffering due to the amount of second homes in the town we noticed a lot of the restaurants we used to frequent are gone and there are a lack of good ones. The speciality shops are slowing disappearing due to the enormous rents demanded by Dartmouth Council allowing big chains like Fat Face, Crew etc to take over. We did take a ferry trip from Dartmouth castle to Dartmouth and was bombarded by the Ferryman's opinion on how bad Dartmouth had become because of the effect the second homes are having on the town. We visited Totnes during our stay and were truly shocked, there were numerous beggars on the main street, we actually saw one man sitting under the main archway under a slogan painted on the wall in large black letters. Again a lot of speciality shops are gone leaving shops selling cheap rubbish. We feel there is a huge drug problem in the town so we did not spend a lot of time there. I have been coming to Dartmouth since I was a child I am afraid we have decided not to return.

  • "Really lovely appartment in great location, few simple improvements - mattress on bed uncomfortable & had a thick down duvet on bed in September!"

(Way too warm) no oven gloves made cooking hazardous & could have done with a clothes airer. Sofa leather looked lovely but uncomfortable The appt write up talked of share court yard outside - in reality this was a car park & if it had have been hot would have been difficult to find any space to sit outside ( good to point out as may out some people off) having said all that we loved it for its location & set up & quality, but the above issues may influence if we returned

  • "Great apartment with everything we needed."

Extremely comfortable and everything was high quality and standard. Very quiet and peaceful but easy and quick walk into the town centre.

  • "We frequently use Dartmouth for holidays and as yet the potteries is one of the best we've been to, it was a lovely airy space for 4 and the dog , very modern and spotlessly clean, the main reason for our choice wasn't just the location but with it being regatta the facility of parking."

On that note we have complaint, we told yourselves we would arrive as a party of 4 in two cars and told that was no problem. We arrived unloaded and parked in the flats own space plus a open visitors space as directed by yourselve, the following morning the van in the visitors space had a sarcastic note put under the wipers saying ' this is private parking do not park here in future' therefore we left a note to say we were in the flat 8 and put the parking plan inside the windscreen. Subsequent days ended up us getting our note screwed up and stuffed in the side window and the van itself getting blocked in. We didn't make a fuss or point any fingers but put us on edge all week in case our vehicles were damaged as a consequence. We appreciate building work is still ongoing but a skip and several work vans didn't help our cause. Going forward I would advise a simple laminated pass stating that a visiting vehicle is from flat 8. A small blip on otherwise another memorable Dartmouth trip.

  • "Large, spacious accommodation."

Very clean. Underfloor heating. Quiet area Great to have one's own parking place. Wi Fi is a very useful bonus. No view of the creek but the cottages opposite are attractive and the trees are lovely. If you don't mind a short walk into town it's a great location, close to the castle. In the bedroom there was a draught through holes in the very old wall, we plugged these with tissues. The pedal on the kitchen bin was broken. Altogether a great place!

  • "Quiet location with own parking which we find to be essential in Dartmouth in popular holiday periods."

Very modern in its furnishings although main living area is a little dark due to only one window and a natural stone wall about which, I am guessing, little can be done as I think this may be a listed building. Allows dogs which is a rarity in a Dartmouth for some reason!
