  • "Would have liked two way lights down to the kitchen area"

  • "A great central location, within easy walking distance of everything in Dartmouth."

Amazing views of the harbour from the top floor. The house felt very welcoming, although quirky and had some beatiful decorative pieces. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. The kitchen was very well equipped.

  • "We had a great time in Dartmouth with this cottage as our base."

It is so central to everything - too close to the icecream parlour - perfect for a quick walk down to the harbour. Its so lovely - the pictures dont do it justice as this is a big space. The lounge maybe a bit tight and the sofa not that comfy but for a few hours at the end of long days out it was fine. We were thrilled with this house, the kitchen space is huge with dining table and we found the bedrooms perfect for what we needed. I would rebook this house for location alone.

  • "Beautiful house with great facilities and comfortable features!"

Everything was clean and easy to use, we really felt comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The listing says there isn’t wifi but there is, so that was a pleasant surprise! Parking was the only issue as the car park often got too full so we had to find elsewhere to park. Lovely location right in the town. Would definitely return! Thank you.

  • "Beautiful house in a stunning town."

Located nearly in the centre just yards back from the river, which to make the most of Dartmouth is ideal. With walks to the Castle & coastal walks possible from the door. Would highly recommend and dog friendly to boot.

  • "We loved Aeolus house."

It’s charm, central position and view from the Juliet balcony made up for having no outside space. The parking permit was also a massive bonus and I would suggest this is more clearly highlighted on your website as parking is. We initially t The bed linen was good quality and clean. However, when stripping the beds, the protective undercover came away and revealed a rather soiled, albeit dry, mattress which was a little off putting. Finally the only other negative was the lack of washing machine. We managed for a week but anyone staying for 2 weeks would struggle. There is a washing machine in the property so it was a little frustrating not being able to use it. Maybe the information on your website is incorrect? Overall, we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely use Sykes cottages again and if in Dartmouth, would stay at Aeolus House.

  • "Aeolus house was a very pleasant surprise."

From the description and photos, we were expecting it to be small and a bit cramped, but it was huge, spacious and airy! The views from the Juliet balcony are lovely, and we spent time most mornings and evenings in the sitting area on the top floor looking out at the harbour. We paid the extra fee for the third bedroom, so our teenage boys didn't have to share a bed. It was bigger than many bunk rooms we've had in other holiday properties. I'm a bit baffled as to why the property isn't marketed as 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6 - there's more than enough space. The only downside of Aeolus house is the stairs. Being a 4 story house there are a lot of them, and making a morning cup of tea to enjoy on the balcony means a trip from the 2nd floor to the basement and back again!

  • "The shower hose was fixed in place with tape which meant it was not adjustable, therefore when it was turned on the cold water sprayed into your face !"

The plug hole in the bath moved so didn't dare take a bath, wasn't sure what would happen. The mattress in the lower floor bedroom wasn't great either. I was also disappointed to be told that in order to stay the complete week which I believe I had paid for but was initially unable to so, that a £30 admin charge would be liable. Not great for customer relations.

Would be good to have a kettle on the top floor where the master bedroom is situated. Toilet brush in both bathrooms needed attention

Thank you for taking the time to leave feed back regarding your stay. we will pass your suggestions on to the owner. I can also confirm that we have replaced the toilet brushes. Property Owner

  • "The shower on the top floor works well for the first 10-20 seconds and then the power falls off to become feeble!"

The glass shelf above the basin on the top floor protrudes so far that it is not possible to get your head over the basin, thus washing ones face or cleaning teeth etc is virtually impossible.

  • "The holiday cottage was ideally located and very comfortable."

The views from the top floor were lovely. The only drawback was no WiFi or phone signal in some areas of the house but that helped with a digital detox!! Sykes were very good to inform that we could stay an extra night for little extra cost. We enjoyed the break very much.

Very noisy plumbing which we mentioned & under blankets on beds could have been cleaner which was also mentioned to office staff.

  • "Aelous house is conveniently situated and very comfortable."

We have just one concern which is a safety one. The kitchen is on the lower ground floor and has no handrail or lighting on the stairs. We suggest this should be addressed. A.S.A.P.
