  • "We had a wonderful Christmas break at Baker's Dozen."

The property was lovely and comfortable and extremely well equipped. Thank you for the hamper which was a great surprise. We have already booked our next holiday at Baker's Dozen

  • "Thank you for a lovely half term holiday, the flat is in a fabulously convenient position, and had everything we needed."

For a family who live in a rural bungalow, a town flat with the lift, the doors, all the codes and underground parking was a great adventure!

  • "We found the accommodation very comfortable and clean."

It was an extremely relaxing few days. The only slight negatives were that the hot water was scoldingly hot, could be dangerous to a child, and the push button fob on the key ring did not operate the garage door. However should we return to Dartmouth at all we would check the availability of Bakers Dozen.

    Reviewed by Allan5.0Oct 2023

  • "The facilities and maintenance were really only let down by the fact that the remote control for the garage door did not work, and the big bulge in the vinyl floor covering in the kitchen area."

Other than these small points the property was, if anything, better than published. The folder detailing the appliances and how to use them was the best we have come across in any holiday property that we have rented.

  • "Although we have stayed in Dartmouth many times, this was our first time in Bakers Dozen."

What a beautiful apartment! Balcony was absolutely fabulous, lovely to be able have the doors open and enjoy the beautiful weather. The underground car park was a real bonus, and being near to the shops was great. We will definitely be returning, hopefully sooner rather than later. Just as a thought - could have done with some extra bin bags and dishwasher tablets, and perhaps some milk in the fridge, we were gasping for a drink when we arrived. However we enjoyed our stay, and will be booking a return visit.

We were looking for somewhere quiet and this apartment though centrally located is in a very quiet location (but for the seagulls day and night, but obviously this is not the apartment`s problem, the seagulls are all over Dartmouth). We could not hear any neighbors nor traffic from the nearby road. Beds were comfortable, quality sheets and towels, pretty crockery, very clean, fully equipped, nicely decorated, it really made of our stay a great stay.

Location was a dream with the estuary boats one way and town facilities the other way, all in about one minute's walk. Loved the French windows which we had open most of the time. Modern smart tv with large screen which was great to watch Wimbledon or access our Netflix account.

The flat is spacious, comfortable and very relaxing. It is extremely well equipped with everything and more you could possibly need for your holiday. The housekeeping team had left the flat spotlessly clean, thank you. Excellent central location, just a minutes walk from the river. We enjoyed our stay so much, on the last day we booked again for next year

Especially liked the underground parking space which was a great asset in Dartmouth. The apartment had everything you could wish for on a self catering break. The location was fantastic only minutes and you are on the river front or in the town. Would definitely book again.

  • "Another lovely week staying in this superb flat in Dartmouth."

The underground secure parking area is a real bonus and everything you need is provided for making it really comfortable and homely. We have stayed in this flat before and my only little gripe this time was that the kitchen bin needs a good clean at the bottom and I think the people who hired before us must have prepared a fish pie the night before they left as that was all we could smell for the first 36 hours of our stay. Due to the rain and wind we couldn’t throw open the windows so just had to purchase a very good air freshener. Having stayed in a Premier Inn on the previous night, which you could smell had been cleaned when we walked into the room, the same couldn’t be said on our arrival. But this really is nit-picking and hasn’t stopped me from already booking again for next year, we’re already counting down the days until our return.

  • "Bakers Dozen was an ideal (quiet) holiday apartment."

Large, clean and with all necessary facilities. Big enough for four adults. View over the rooftops to the hills via the Juliet balcony but the (slight) view to the river is mostly obscured by trees. Car parking is a great bonus but there are always two cars parked in the entrance road which make it a bit tight getting to the car park entrance. I have a 2017 Modeo and it was fine. A Range Rover may struggle!! M&S next door for all ones food needs. Dartmouth is great. Our second time here. Two possible improvements. The main bathroom has a shower/tap fitting but no curtain or method of holding the shower head to the wall (this would also require some additional wall tiling methinks). It didn't affect us as we were only two people but if all four want showers then all will have to use the bedroom ensuite. The kitchen "welcome washing up pack" has the smallest bottle of washing up liquid!! Lasted two washes!. Would we go back? Absolutely, we are in the process of booking next year. See you soon...

  • "This is a really lovely flat, exactly as described."

We even found a hairdryer and iron/ironing board that wasn't included in the description. The Juliet balcony was excellent, the next best thing to having outside space. The massive extra large bed, although a little soft, was quite comfortable. Plenty of storage, lovely shower, great TV. Suggestion: I would put a substantial mat by the front door for wet/dirty shoes. Great location, very central. Everywhere was very busy even outside school holidays, I would suggest booking restaurants ahead. We walked to the very interesting Dartmouth Castle, went on the Steam Railway to Paignton, visited Greenway House. St Saviours Church is lovely and the Museum is an absolute must. Apart from the sad news of the death of our Queen Elizabeth II while we were there, we had a lovely holiday and hope to be back in due course.

  • "This was our first trip to Dartmouth and Baker's Dozen was perfect for us, we chose it based on the fact that it had dedicated underground parking and this turned out to be a very good decision as parking in Dartmouth is really difficult and some of the other properties we considered had very tight garages."

In case it's useful to others we took a Ford Kuga with a roof box and it fitted comfortably though the car park entrance and once inside there is plenty of room and most of the roof is higher and so there was no problem opening the box lid. The other main reason we chose Baker's Dozen was the feedback about it being clean and we were very impressed with how clean it was, much better than other Sykes properties with a similar rating so credit to whoever cleans it. The location is perfect to explore Dartmouth which is well worth the visit and all of the attractions lived up to expectations, apart from RockFish takeaway which didn't seem as tasty as our local chip shop at home!. Also in case it's useful to others, the main TV in the property is an LG "Smart" model so compatible with streaming services / casting from your phone etc.

  • "The travel cot was only suitable for an older baby as it had no insert."

More of a concern is the fact that it lacked a mattress. The bottom of the cot is a piece of hardboard with the slimmest amount of foam covered by plastic. It’s a bit like providing a bedstead without the mattress for an adult to sleep on. Had we known this we would have brought our own mattress. As it was a matter of urgency we spent the first day of our holiday on a five hour round trip to the nearest stockist at Warminster Argos. A certain amount of expense was naturally involved. Perhaps there should be a warning about this in the information because an uncomfortable baby can spoil a holiday. Other than that, this was a first class property for our stay and provided everything we could ask for.

(I was so very sad that my husband and Lily could not join us but the flat is not Small Dog friendly just to say. She is being shortly trained to be a 'Hearing Dog' for my husband is obedient even now. We have booked another flat in Dartmouth house that is Dog friendly and are staying there next month.. Also we have a booking already for 2022 at No 13 before acquiring Lily so I may have to lose my deposit on that as I is not transferable? Bye for now... HAPPY HOLIDAYS IN Dartmouth. And Sunny Wishes. The Cotswold Lady. So sad as I say that we will not be able to use No 13 again.

We were really sorry that we were unable to accomodate your Lily but other guests also had bookings and we cannot change from dog free to dog friendly without affecting everybody else too. A real bonus for us having a superking size bed like home. Well equipped, great quality towels and bedlinen. Super parking, ample space for our large estate car. The security door wasn't working on the car park, but all other doors had codes or keys so felt secure. Lots of evening meals in from M&S almost next door. Signed into our own Netflix account on the TV and with the large double doors open in the hot weather it always felt airy and light even though we were on the first floor. This was our first stay in Dartmouth and we'd love to return but maybe not for the Regatta weekend, due to the funfair.

    G. the Coffee machine, USB charging plug and cable to link a laptop to the TV screen. We suspect that the owners use the apartment quite frequently themselves, which would explain these items, but it was refreshing to see that they were happy to leave them for use by visitors. Re our "cleanliness" rating, I reported to the local office, that the bases of both bedside lamps in the large bedroom had what I considered to be more than 1 weeks worth of dust on them, (they were flat bases,) and had only been wiped on one side. I only discovered this whilst trying to work out how to switch them on, (you just touch the base.) I have photographs should you wish to view these. My wife also reports that she found the cold tap in the bathroom difficult to turn off, to avoid a continual 'drip.' I will leave it to your own discretion as to whether you publish all, or a redacted version of my feedback.

  • "The apartment was fab as it was last time but on arrival all TVs in all appartments were down apparently and Coast and country said they would get it sorted ASAP."

So Saturday and Sunday no TVs to watch, we were looking forward to settling down in the evening with a bottle of wine and watching strictly and celebrity in the jungle, what a boring night we had and Sunday was the same. We popped into the office Monday seems as nobody had been in touch. The lady with long grey hair really didn’t care saying it was out of their control she really didn’t understand what it was like for us not having the TVs, they then arranged a fire stick for 1 of the TVs but it isn’t the same and we still didn’t have the tv in the bedroom, it did come back late Tuesday afternoon and Coast and country for some strange reason thought a cheap bottle of wine and some fudge would compensate, well it didn’t. Coast and country should have got the fire stick ready for Saturday, we were applied with their service and they ruined our holiday.
