  • "This was by far such a magical place to stay!"

The comfort, the lay out of the house was all amazing! We sat watching the river and ferry for hours on end, think it had everything we needed.

  • "This beautiful cottage is a joy to stay in."

What could be more wonderful than waking up to the estuary, with its ever changing scenery and then the joy of the old steam train passing by each day (don’t worry it doesn’t start till 10) and is huge fun. It is immaculate inside and very comfortable. I would recommend getting a season ticket for the ferry crossing as it is expensive to pay for individual car journeys. If you plan to park up and walk then it’s £2 per person from the property across to town. www.dkfb.co.uk There are so many beautiful places to visit close by. Blackpool sands and the coast past there towards Kingsbridge is breathtaking. I see from past feedback a handrail is due to go In at any time which is a must and I would urge the owners to put a blind at the top hall window for privacy from cars queuing. A house instruction manual would have been very helpful for appliances and rubbish instructions. Also could the water temperature be increased for a hot bath. We look forward to staying again and thank you.

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us in Kingswear. Your suggestions are really helpful and we will take those into consideration as soon as possible. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Immaculate and well thought out house in a wonderful location."

The views from the house across to Dartmouth with the added benefit of being able to wave to the steam train made our stay memorable. As seasoned self caterers, we would suggest the addition of a handrail up the stairs to protect the immaculate paintwork from the hands of those of us who need to steady ourselves. We can't wait to stay at this gem of a house again

Thanks for your feedback, and glad to hear that we are not the only people who wave to the steam train as it goes past! We have taken on board your helpful comments and will hopefully have a handrail fitted later this month. Thanks again, and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Property Owner

Great location and all facilities you could need provided. If could give any positive feedback it would be to add to the information guide in the property as to refuse collection / instructions for kitchen appliances but appreciate property newly listed.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Britannia Crossing Cottage."

It was well equipped, nicely decorated and very very clean. I was a little bit hesitant about the placement of the cottage when I was looking at it online being so close to the steam trainline and the higher ferry crossing, but we decided to just go with it. I can honestly say that neither were a problem to us. The train doesn't start until after 10am and finishes soon after 5pm. When it passes it’s fine - when we were in the house we enjoyed watching it pass. The higher ferry also wasn’t too much of a problem. We often went across to Dartmouth as a foot passenger and that was really handy. We didn’t have to queue for long in the car if we arrived back when there was a queue for the ferry - if we could see where the ferry was we often drove down the other side of the road. I would suggest that anyone staying here should pop to one of the supermarkets before arrival (Aldi, Lidls, Sainsbury’s and Food Warehouse) to get some essentials such as milk, bread, tea and coffee etc. There are no shops particularly nearby. Whilst the little touch of a bottle of wine and longlife milk was thoughtful on arrival, we don’t drink and we couldn’t have shared this with our children. The owners might want to bear this in mind for future people staying in the accommodation. You could see the cottage so well from the riverside at Dartmouth and it even gets a mention on the paddlesteamer cruise on the river when you pass by! The views from the cottage are also so beautiful. Sitting outside first thing in the morning or in the evening is just so peaceful. At times I couldn’t quite believe how lucky we were to be staying there. I would absolutely recommend this accommodation - this is by far one of the best we have stayed in. Thank you!

We really appreciate you staying at our cottage and your valuable feedback. Your 5 star review has brightened our day and motivates us to keep providing the best experience for our customers. Enjoy the rest of your Summer! Property Owner

We’ve stayed in many properties around Kingswear & Dartmouth over the last 30 years and this is our favourite! Beautiful house, fantastic views of the River Dart and the Steam Train that ran right outside the garden and of course my favourite ferry. Would definitely like to return.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Britannia Cottage and thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We hope you will come back and enjoy the views again soon. Property Owner

  • "We have stayed in lots of different cottages over the last 30 years including a lot in the Kingswear area."

Britannia Cottage is the very best. Totally fantastic and perfect in every way. No criticism at all and that is a first for me. I think if I could buy any cottage in the Uk then this will be it. We wish we could have stayed forever.

Thank you for your review. Having only recently opened the cottage up for letting it is great to receive your feedback. We will hopefully see you again soon! Property Owner
