  • "We loved this property as it was right in the area we loved in Dartmouth The house was comfortable and the level of equipment was excellent and we had a fantastic 2 week holiday there."

    Despite the house being very close to the lower ferry slipway the noise level was not intrusive. Not having parking was a shame but as our daughter lives in Dartmouth, we parked at her house and used the bus to commute. This was OK for us but others booking should note that parking is very difficult in Dartmouth. The only thing that let the property down was the cleanliness and we were especially dismayed to see the state of the mattress protector which was badly stained when we stripped the bedding off of the front double bed. also the floors were dirty.

I am so sorry that the cleanliness wasn’t up to our usual high standard when you visited.   • "The property is like a tardis as it is deceptively big when you get inside."

    All rooms are exactly as pictures on listing. We made no use of the lovely outside space as weather was bad throughout our stay, but the lights outside were a nice touch, as was the fab welcome 'hamper' waiting for us in the kitchen. The whole place is bright, fresh and clean. The only thing we would do, if the place was ours, would be to put some window privacy film on half the window downstairs as people quite often would stop and stare through window as they could see from outside it was a holiday let. It could be a bit off putting at times, and having to close curtains during the day was/is not ideal. It's a real 'home from home' feeling you get when you enter the house. It is in a great location and we were so happy we found it. We will be back there again - thank you!

  • "We had an amazing few days in Dartmouth celebrating a family member passing out as a Naval officer."

    Green retreat is such a beautiful holiday home, very modern with everything you’d ever need, plus a much appreciated welcome hamper! The house is literally a stone throw away from shops, pubs, restaurants, and the harbour, so it’s the perfect location, and it’s on a flat road unlike some of the other holiday lets which is a bonus! Plenty of space on the front for a quick unload of the car, and a lot of parking spaces around for short 1-2 hour stays, but we used ‘just park’ to hire a driveway for the duration of our stay as the car wasn’t needed at all whilst we were there. I definitely recommend getting the ferry over to Kingswear then going on the steam train. And buying a crabbing net, my kids (and adults!) spent hours crabbing at the harbour, even at 9pm, as were a-lot of other families. Sarah is an amazing host, very helpful, and I wouldn’t have hesitated to contact her if we needed any help.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Green Retreat."

  • "Another fabulous stay, a beautiful house in a beautiful place."

    The dishwasher was a great addition this year too. We will be back next year (if not before!) Spotlessly clean and comfortable - wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Dartmouth. Thank you for the lovely welcome gifts and doggy treats, they were greatly enjoyed!

  • "Green Retreat was an amazing property set in the heart of Dartmouth!"

    On stepping through the door into the beautifully decorated living area we felt instantly at home. The bedrooms were very well equipped with everything you needed and like the rest of the house spotlessly clean. The outdoor seating area and barbecue was perfect for evenings and morning coffee .   • "Absolutely wonderful property, in a great location within Dartmouth."

    Very well equipped with everything you could need, very comfy beds, lovely and clean with a nice courtyard garden. It is exactly as shown in the pictures. Very clear instructions from check in to check out and very good communication with the host. Highly recommend

  • "Wonderful location right in the centre of Dartmouth."

    The house is a real home from home with the hosts thinking of everything. There was a thoughtful welcome hamper on arrival even containing treats for our dog . The house had a lovely feel and was spotlessly clean .If you are looking to stay right in the heart of Dartmouth then this is the place to stay . We can't wait to return . Also as we were out of season we didn't find the parking a problem at all

  • "Had a fabulous week at the Green Retreat!"

    The location was perfect. We used Just Park app to park the car on a drive as didn’t need it. Everywhere was within a stroll away. We had everything we needed in the cottage and more. So much thought has gone in catering to our needs. Beautiful cottage! Would definitely recommend. Hope to comeback soon!

  • "This cottage is a lovely cottage in a perfect location, we would definitely stay here again if we are in the area."

    It was clean and fresh (although, please do check crockery is also clean, as there is no dishwasher) and had everything we needed for our stay. The only issue was in regards to parking, we understand parking is an issue for all in the town, but it would of really helped if there was a Parking Permit. We wasted a lot of our time and money travelling to and from the Park & Ride, as there were no other parking available closer.

Green Retreat is a three-storey cottage set just a stone’s throw away from the waterfront and lower ferry in Dartmouth, Devon.

Sporting a stylish, open-plan living space and a sought-after enclosed courtyard with furniture, this delightful, pet-friendly abode welcomes families and couples for a special stay in Devon.

Cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and be welcomed by an open-plan living area; here the house chef can become acquainted with the kitchen, ready to whip up delicious meals to sample over a bottle of wine at the dining table.

Retreat to the sitting area and sink into the plush corner sofa, before agreeing to watch something on the Smart TV.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.
