  • "Top bedroom difficult to hang clothes."

Very narrow road so make sure your car is not too wide. Great location and lovely property.

We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. With best wishes. Property Owner

  • "As with previous reviews of this cottage, there is a definite damp and cold problem on the lower floor where the best and largest bedroom is."

The problem is made worse because the heating doesn't work. The "heated" towel rails didn't work so consequently we had to hang up our constantly damp towels on the airing rack which of course just added to the dampness. This cottage could be excellent had it not been for the above issues.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you experienced problems with the heating and hot water. We understand that the matter was quickly resolved and the boiler has now had a full service so there should be no further issues of this nature. owners response Property Owner

We are delighted to see that you rated Huffin highly across categories. Thank you for letting us know about the washing machine. It has now been repositioned. We are glad that you found the house to be clean and comfortable. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "Lower ground floor cold and damp like being in a cheap caravan."

Heating control in a garage which was kept locked. Could not sit out on lovely furniture as was dirty builders mess

Thank you for your feedback although we are disappointed to read your comments. We understand that you received assistance with turning on the heating as soon as help was requested. The outside furniture is cleaned regularly with soft furnishings kept indoors. As with any coastal area, seagulls can leave droppings. We hope you enjoyed your stay despite this inconvenience. • "Short walk to town almost on the level if you turn right on exiting cottage."

The shower in the downstairs bathroom needed repaired but Sykes dealt with this very promptly. The upstairs bedroom and en-suite is very cramped. There are few Freeview channels available so a smart TV would be a welcome addition. Cottage is in a quiet location and the lounge is very comfortable. We would return as long as we did not need use of the top bedroom.

  • "Huffin, a delightfull, upside down cottage!"

. on a VERY steep lane, as was expected in Dartmouth! As an 80 year old, i managed to drive my car up and down this narrow , steep lane! luckily i took my mobility scooter with me so i could go down to the town quite easily when we wanted to go to the market, shops etc. The cottage stairs very steep, I just about managed them! i would suggest the owners put a hand grip in the upstairs shower cubicle, as the step quite high, and no anti slip mat on cubicle tray. the cottage very well appointed, had everything we needed. the duvet ag the car with too much stuff bit too thick for summer months, perfect for the first 3 days whilst the weather cold, but too hot after when the weather got warmer. may i suggest a thinner duvet with a throw if it should turn cold. There was even picnic utensils, but we had brought our own as we didn't know they were there! might be worthwhile putting this on the details.

Thank you very much for this useful feedback and we’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Huffin was just what we wanted at this difficult time."

The house is quirky and very comfortable. It's position meant that we could wander down into Dartmouth or explore places slightly farther afield. If the weather was inclement we had somewhere cosy to relax. A very enjoyable week . Thank you very much.

  • "Firstly the property was lovely and was furnished to a high standard."

The kitchen was very well equipped and the balcony outside gave us a real holiday feel! We enjoyed our stay there very much. There are a couple of points I think worth mentioning though as while they didn't really impact on our holiday others may find them more problematic. Firstly there is nowhere at all in the property to hang clothing other than two rails with hooks on them, designed I would think for coats. There is some limited storage in drawers and in under bed drawers but some guests may want more I think. The other point is that the road to access the property is very narrow indeed. For some drivers and for those with larger vehicles this might be an issue.

Many thanks for your kind review of Huffin. We are so pleased that you found the house to be comfortable and we really value the feedback. There is a wardrobe with space for 20+ hanging items in the bunk bedroom. Guests are very welcome to use this even if that bedroom is unoccupied. We are fortunate to have the large parking space and manoeuvring area in front of Huffin given South Ford Road’s 6ft foot width limit. Hopefully this made things a little easier. We would encourage all guests to drive slowly and with care, especially if arriving by large family car or small commercial vehicle. Devon roads can be challenging! Once again, thank you for your comments and we are delighted that you had a lovely holiday. With all good wishes Huffins owners Property Owner

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.
