"The only disadvantage was the lack of parking."
We had to use the Park and Ride which was miles away and therefore inconvenient. Some properties provided parking permits for car parks in town and this would have been worth the extra cost for the rental.
Thanks for your feedback.
Salcombe’s popularity as an estuary-side town means parking can be limited, especially during peak times. While this property doesn’t include a permit, some do offer them for town car parks, which can be a more convenient option. We appreciate your suggestion.

"The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in when on holiday."
A small cottage but super comfortable and close to the centre. Can be noisy at the weekend but has very good sound insulation.

"Immaculately clean with a super comfy double bed and lovely smelling bed linen."
Compact bathroom but with a spacious and really good shower. Kitchen is well equipped too. Struggled with the storage heaters / radiators but thankfully was provided with an oil filled radiator and the lounge had an electric fire. The cottage itself is tiny and I would say not suitable for children or people with physical disabilities due to lack of overall space and the spiral type staircase. Fine for just 2 adults. Excellent location and surprisingly quiet given its proximity to the town centre. Had a great stay thank you.

"We loved it here!"
Will be booking again for next year too, hopefully for 2 weeks. Perfect location and had everything you needed. We used everything that was in kitchen and loved all the quirky adds they had left us. Thank you so much, we can’t wait to visit lake victoria again

"Good choice of pots and kitchen utensils
Not suitable for children under 3 or 4 and should not be listed as so."
There was no space to put up a travel cot and not safe to leave children in bunk beds.
No hot running water
Very uncomfortable sofa and bed
Rug/lounge was not clean
Shower design left bathroom floor very wet and slippery

"Be careful of the front door."
It door has a tendency to slam shut so always keep the keys in your pocket. The emergency contact number is not manned. If you find yourself locked out I can recommend GS Locksmiths whose prompt service is exemplary. The cottage is very comfortable and cosy.

"The property was as we expected very pleasant everything inside it was good ..."
The property was as we expected very pleasant everything inside it was good quality equipment decorated well and a pleasant place to spend time, Where both are in the age of 60 and we had a job to make the television work difficult to find live television and it was concerning for me to sign in to anything like Netflix because if we left and didn't sign out other people possibly could use our Netflix and purchase films on our account I'm not sure if that's possible but it made me reticent to sign into anything if it had the normal terrestrial channels easily accessible that would have been far better for us but only a small moan the rest of it was great we will certainly look at using you guys again,

"Fantastic!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage ( our second stay here)"
. It is small with steep stairs so may not be suitable for younger children but perfect for two adults. Very clean, comfy beds and supplied with everything we needed. It doesn’t have any outdoor space but this didn’t bother us and we would definitely stay here again.

"Fabulous cosy cottage based in the middle of town."
The owners went out of their way to make my first solo Christmas a brilliant one with the Christmas tree, decorations and hamper. So much so, that Dartmouth is going to become my new Christmas tradition. Thank you!

"Stayed at Lake Victoria Cottage at the beginning of December, and the town was lovely and quiet ~ the calm before the Christmas period!"
The cottage is sited in the centre of Dartmouth with a 2 minute flat walk to the shops etc. It is a cosy cottage ie small, and suitable for two adults. Please note there are no views! The kitchen was well equipped, though an oven glove would have been useful! The stairs are steep and semi-spiral and so anyone with mobility issues would possibly find them an issue. The yale lock catch did not always work (this has been mentioned before by others). The sofa, again as others have reported, is so uncomfortable! Is it a sofa bed? It really does need to be changed. Having stayed in Dartmouth many times over the years, a folder with equipment instructions ie how to use washing machine, oven etc has been found to be really useful. If it was available, we couldn't find it. It was lovely to see two welcome packs ~ one of teas & coffee; and one with cleaning materials. .

"A generally lovely property, the Amazon fire stick and tv and WiFi were fab."
Beds comfy. The front door was hard to close - the top Yale lock wasn’t catching, we would have had to slam the door to lock it (we didn’t do this, we locked it with the bottom key instead) - would recommend the lock is looked at. The sofa downstairs was soooo uncomfortable, you probably need to replace this. The house was a bit smaller than it looked in the pics, but no problem for a couple or v small family. Kitchen had everything we needed. We’d definitely stay again.

"Excellent central location and perfect for the two of us."
When you get to Dartmouth, follow the directions provided and not your SatNav as ours took us down the narrowest of streets and never to the correct location. It was really clean and provided us with all the facilities required for self catering. The welcome packs were a lovely touch. The main living area is quite small but was fine for 2 people but it might be a bit cramped for a small family. We would definitely use this cottage again.

"Good Central location."
WiFi could have been offered. No where to dry clothes if you needed to do a wash and bathroom very small.
We were not aware of Regatta when we booked or that for 2 days we would be using the park and ride for parking this should have been highlighted and explained before booking not great.
Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback on your stay. We apologise that you were not made aware that the Regatta was taking place during your stay. The Regatta typically takes place over the last bank holiday weekend in August. This has now been updated on the property description. As the property is compact, guests benefit from the use of the washer/dryer. We will look to get this clearly labelled for future bookings. The property comes with wifi, the router can be found in the lounge area. The laminated wifi code can also be found within the property. Coast & Country offers a 24 hour helpline should any issues occur during your stay. Furthermore, our office in Dartmouth is open for any queries. We hope to welcome you back to Dartmouth in the future.

"Just returned home from this place and I have to say it was a fantastic place to stay."
It is in the perfect location for us right in the middle of town a stones throw from the river and right next to the market hall and many other shops. Perfect size for us and very comfortable for a couple or couple with 2 small children.
The clever way they took the pictures make it look a bit bigger than it actually is but that wasn't a problem for us 2 as it was perfect really.
We will definitely try to book the same accommodation when staying in Dartmouth again.
My TOP TIP when staying in Dartmouth would be to book tables at the places you wish to eat months in advance as they are booked months ahead with very few if any walk ins available.
