  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at Little Torr."

It was clean with lovely decor, and well thought out in spaciousness. Every amenity thought out beforehand. Also the thoughtfulness of a delicious welcoming package awaiting us upon arrival. The walkway to the cottage was well lit and easy to traverse, even on late nights. Completely private and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to our hosts. M and J

The welcoming pack was very thoughtful adding to a well presented property. Previous comments regarding parking are very harsh. It is challenging but no as bad as it fist appears. It is centrally located near to the A30 providing direct routes throughout Devon.

  • "Quiet rural location, although close to the A30 for easy access to all parts of the county and beyond."

The directions provided were simple to follow and took me straight to the property. Little Torr included everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Although I am a keen and long standing car driver I did find the slopping gravel areas a little difficult to negotiate for parking, however, I would have no hesitation in staying at the property again. Jo provided a warm welcome, and included a welcome pack above and beyond the level normally expected. Many Thanks

  • "Careful booking this if you've got mobility issues."

Steep steps up from car or up a gravel incline and across the garden. The owner was most helpful but I wouldn't have booked this if I'd known. Comfortable inside if a little on the dark side.

Everything about the accommodation was perfect and it was a pleasure to return after my days exploring, a very cosy and comfortable place to stay. I only had one chance to enjoy the garden with the weather but it is so peaceful. The location was perfect, easy access to the moors and further afield and I can guarantee you won’t hear any traffic! Thank you Jo for your hospitality and wonderful treats too.

Perfect for rest, relaxation and tranquility. Amazing location tucked away in a quiet corner of Devon but close enough to main routes for exploring the area. Jo and Pete (and the dogs) were fantastic and welcoming hosts. We look forward to paying another visit sometime in the future. Can't rate this place highly enough!

For me as a solo traveller it was perfect. Cosy, comfortable, great size, lovely setting, perfect to get away from it all & just relax. Nice n secluded allowing me to wind down, read, write & take time out. Great road for cycling & not too far for local amenities. The family members who I met Jo & Henry were just so helpful & Jo was very kind & lovely to talk to. Fully recommend Little Torr if you need to escape from this mad world we race around in.

All the facilities are good quality, the bed is very comfortable and Jo was a great host. Well positioned for exploring dartmoor and nearby villages. You need a car, as I don't think there were any shops or pubs within easy walking distance. Although there is a quiet, secluded garden which was alive with birdsong! A very relaxing place to stay.

From the moment we arrived we relaxed. Our host, Jo, was friendly and had left us some welcome goodies. Nice little garden with bbq to eat alfresco, if desired. Added bonus of access to Netflix if you prefer cosy nights in. Well equipped and a home from home. A good base from which to go to places such as Castle Drogo, Fingle Bridge, Meldon Dam and Okehampton. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

  • "The accommodation was firs class - Jo had thought of everything."

Furnishings and fittings are superb Most things are brand new and work We didn't expect it to be quite so isolated, and came short of my memories of Dartmoor The roads are in bad condition and very narrow with high hedges. I must mention to you about access for elderly with mobility problems. I had recently been diagnosed with a ruptured achilles tendon and have a large boot! I was horrified on arrival that access to the studio was up a steep flight of steps it was then suggested that I go up via the garden . Not good! it would be impossible for a wheelchair user.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are delighted to hear that Little Torr exceeded your expectations. Our customer team are available and are always pleased to assist with any location or access queries during the booking process. Country lanes are part of the landscape on Dartmoor and are repaired by the local council where issues are reported. We are sorry to hear this didn't quite meet your needs on this occasion: the peaceful, rural location is welcomed by a majority of guests at Little Torr. Property Owner
