  • "I absolutely loved the Hideaway."

    The garden was a great size for our dog and children to run around in and had such a magical feel. We loved the open lay out of the house. It was warm, clean, well equipped with everything we could possibly need and so welcoming with a Christmas present under tte tree, fresh cakes and milk in the fridge. The owners were super friendly and helpful. We will definitely return there.

  • "A lovely few days."

    The cottage is as described, very clean and comfy and particularly spacious downstairs with wonderful views. We appreciated the utility room for our dogs. And the peace, all we heard was birdsong.

  • "The house is very well and comfortably equipped, and is located in a classic Devon rural location."

    It is in a very peaceful, relaxing location with background music provided by the local owls. The owners Christine and Les are very helpful.

  • "Comfortable, attractive house in a perfect country setting It is exactly as seen in the photographs."

    There is everything needed for a self catering holiday and all the furnishings and equipment are as new. I would recommend it for a stay in North Devon.

  • "Hideaway is extremely spacious and very well fitted out."

    The owners have thought carefully about the needs of holidaymakers with a dog. The property was beautifully clean and welcoming. The location is very quiet and peaceful and close to nature with great walks on the doostep.

  • "The property is beautiful with everything one would need for a comfortable stay."

    We could not fault the cleanliness throughout. The bed was very comfortable with hotel quality bedding and pillows and the whole house is furnished to a high standard. There is a large , beautiful garden to relax in. Les and Christine were very welcoming and helpful . They have an extensive knowledge of the area and were able to suggest some great places to visit. Thank you for a lovely stay we will visit again.

  • "A beautifully presented cottage in a stunning, secluded location."

    The Hideaway is just a short distance from the market town of Great Torrington, coastal towns and walks and the fabulous garden at RHS Rosemoor. Chris and Les are perfect hosts, friendly and helpful, full of local recommendations. To sum the cottage up in three words: immaculate, stylish and tranquil. We will definitely book again, so much more to be enjoyed.

  • "We were the first guests!"

    Everything was new, shiny and as described/photos. Beautiful quiet spot overlooking a forest, stream and a field of sheep. The EV charger for daytime solar trickle charge and overnight cheap rate charging was brilliant and saved us time and money charging on the road! Kitchen well equipped, and essential cleaning and bathroom supplies all provided. Great Torrington a few miles away has all the essentials, and quick to get to. A really pleasant stay, thank you!

Hideaway is a bright cottage resting in Huntshaw, Devon.

Ideal for families, friends, and their two dogs seeking a countryside escape, this abode boasts a Smart TV, off-road parking, and serene countryside views.

Pull up and park the car outside this gentle yellow abode.

Upon entering you can throw a wash on in the utility room and then freshen up in the spacious ground-floor shower room.

The bright open-plan living space is the heart of the home.

Make use of the well-equipped kitchen whilst the coffee maker calls to fuel you for your day's adventures.

Pop your favourites in the air fryer, or cook a scrumptious family meal with the electric oven and hob to enjoy at the dining table set for four, accompanied by a window-framed view of the roaring countryside.

Retire to the sitting area with ample seating for all guests to stretch out their legs during movie night on the Smart TV.

When sleep calls, climb the oak stairs to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms to choose from, a double or a twin, both tucked in the eaves.

Outside, you will find a well-manicured lawn with furniture to enjoy dining alfresco, or bring your journal and sketch the stunning countryside views from the swing seat.

For a fun family day out, head to The Milky Way Adventure Park.

See the incredible birds of prey, explore Star Wars-themed displays, try your hand at archery, or enjoy the classic fairground dodgems - there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Stroll across the grassy plains of Northam Burrows Country Park, taking in the picturesque salt marshes and the sight of sheep grazing amongst nature, and wander through the dunes until you reach Greysands Beach for a peaceful coastal experience.

Take a scenic drive along the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast, where you can enjoy leisurely walks with your four-legged companion while taking in stunning cliff views, stopping by a pub or a cream tea shop to refuel along the way.

Finally, visit the Bideford Railway Heritage Centre, a museum dedicated to the history of the local railway.

GREAT TORRINGTON

Bideford 7 miles; Westward Ho! 10 miles.

Great Torrington is an unspoilt town built on high ground above the River Torridge, and is a fifteen-minute drive from the spectacular North Devon coast at Westward Ho!. A leading tourist attraction is Dartington Crystal where visitors can see craftsmen blowing and shaping glass, follow the history of glassmaking and buy some beautiful pieces. The town has a good selection of individual shops, a friendly atmosphere, and some good inns. About a mile from Great Torrington is the spectacular RHS garden at Rosemoor, splendid with colourful roses in summer and in a breathtaking setting by the River Torridge. There are many villages to visit on the North Devon coast including picturesque Clovelly built on a steep hillside above the sea, Westward Ho! with fabulous sandy beaches and Hartland village with narrow streets, village square and Hartland Point with breathtaking sea and coastal views. Great Torrington is a quiet, convenient base from which to explore North Devon, the Tarka Trail and the rolling Devon landscapes.
