The Boathouse is a fully converted 18th-century stone building situated in Golant, Cornwall, on the west bank of the River Fowey tidal estuary.
Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), it offers a warm welcome to one of Cornwall's most picturesque spots.
This is an ideal property for a family of four or a couple looking for a comfortable summer or winter break in a beautiful and tranquil part of Cornwall.
With magnificent views across the estuary, the best advantage of the views is achieved from the sitting room/diner and the kitchen on the first floor, or in the bedrooms on the ground floor.
The fully equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge/freezer.
The tastefully furnished property has all modern conveniences including gas central heating, a woodburning stove and WiFi.
The downstairs bathroom has a WC, hand basin, a full-size bath and a walk-in shower.
There are two ground floor bedrooms: a double, and two singles.

The Boathouse is a no-pets, no-smoking property.
Discover the nearby attractions: Golant’s local pub is the family-run Fishermans Arms which is popular with both locals and visitors throughout the year.
The Fowey River tidal estuary has moored local boats.
At low tide sand banks are revealed which are safe and popular with children who play there in the summer months.
Crabbing from the small stone quay is also popular with children and their parents.
On Golant’s village green there’s a designated play area for children.
Kyaking and small boat hire is also popular, with Fowey just 2 miles downstream to the open sea.
There are many great coastal walks, too, and good sandy beaches such as Par Sands, Polkerris, and Lantic Bay.
For a longer day out, many visitors enjoy taking the ferry from Fowey to Mevagissy, or to Polruan.
To stock up on your provisions, there are supermarkets some 6-7 miles from Golant near St Austell – Tesco, Asda, Lidl, Aldi, etc. Fowey also has shops selling local produce.

The property was lovely very tasteful decor really nice bedrooms wonderful views really nice personal touch fudge on the tabe when we arrived.

We had a fantastic stay at The Boat House.
Its scenic location on the River Fowey and the perfect little garden with views of the estuary were ideal. The Boat House is situated less than 10 minutes from Fowey and close to plenty of beautiful sandy beaches, giving us lots to do without having to travel very far. Judith and Chris were wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming and always happy to answer any questions we had. We shall be back!
Having at first thinking the property looked really nice, we found that the upstairs part of the accommodation was very nice and comfy the lower part which is where the bedrooms and bathroom are located was not quite so good, the whole area was damp and musky with paint peeling off the walls at ground level.
The beds were not very comfortable and the head frames banging against the walls every time you moved.On the whole the lower ground floor was very damp, cold and musky,
