Ilsington 1.5 miles. This charming holiday cottage sits next door to The Rock Inn, in Haytor Vale in the eastern section of the Dartmoor National Park.

Well-equipped across three floors, Early Mist Cottage provides a superb base for a family of eight and their canine companion looking to escape to Dartmoor National Park.

After a day of exploring, look forward to kicking back in the lounge and catching up on some TV, whilst the woodburning stove provides a gentle warmth.

Head into the kitchen, where you can rustle up something tasty with assistance from the electric oven, induction hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, whilst the dishwasher is sure to come in handy with the cleaning up!

Suppers can be enjoyed around the dining table, while there is a separate breakfast room featuring French doors out onto a small balcony area with a bistro set for two – ideal for those who might like to enjoy a peaceful coffee outside before the busy day begins.

Venture up to the first floor and discover two bedrooms, including a super-king-size and a double, each nicely presented and featuring ample storage.

On this floor there is also a bathroom and adjacent shower room, so you can choose how to prepare for the day.

Continue up another flight of stairs to reach the remaining bedrooms, with a double and a twin (with limited headroom) on offer.

You won’t have to travel far for excellent food, as next door is the reputable Rock Inn, serving a varied lunch and dinner menu with an extensive wine list.

When you’re ready to explore, nearby lies the famous Haytor Rocks on Dartmoor, which offers a great starting point for extended walks or even a scenic picnic.

Wander the surrounding moorland and enjoy the great outdoors, making the most of the panoramic views.

Whisky connoisseurs must pay a visit to Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, where they can take a guided tour and learn how the single malt beverage is produced, before getting the chance to sample some yourself.

Venture a little further into the moor to visit the ancient village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor: enjoy lunch or a cream tea at The Cafe on The Green or sample the local ale at The Rugglestone Inn.

Or plan a coastal visit to Teignmouth, Paignton or Torquay.

Book Early Mist Cottage and experience this scenic Dartmoor location.
