  • "A fabulous spot."

Unprecedented views. Well presented throughout.sad to leave it behind. Might be worth pointing out that there is only one allocated parking spot and that a second vehicle might prove a problem for parking, as spaces are at a premium along the cliff top road. Would gladly stay there again if in the area

Dear Angus, Thank you for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed your time with us. Parking is at a premium all along the cliff but Solana is fortunate to enjoy a generous reserved parking space steps away from the chalet. Alternatively, there are 140 spaces at Sharrow 600m west of Solana at £12 for 24/ hours and a further 180 spaces at Tregantle 2km west of Solana at £3.70 for 24/ hours. We hope to see you back again soon! Property Owner

  • "Well what can I say it's all about the view we stayed at Solana for my partners ..."

Well what can I say it's all about the view we stayed at Solana for my partners 40th and she loved it we are accommodation cleaners so we do know what to expect but the property was stunning and spotless very well equipped as well and the small touches were lovely so would I stay here again I live in Cornwall and it's a massive yes from us so somebody who doesn't live here already I wouldn't think that Solana couldn't fail to impress again spotless so thanks to whoever cleaned it and thanks to the owners for letting us stay in this gorgeous property with this gorgeous view

Dear Troy, Best 40th Birthday wishes, we are glad to have contributed to this important occassion. That's a really kind endorsement all round and we appreciate your feedback. We hope to see you back at Solana soon! Property Owner

  • "A lovely Easter weekend at Solana, with uninterrupted sea views."

Can even see the lighthouse at night. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. We even managed to enjoy a BBQ during on the sunny Easter Sunday. Michelle the property manager was lovely and easily contactable by text (for info, we’re on Sky Mobile/O2 and we were able to get mobile signal by the kitchen window, otherwise we had the WiFi for data msgs).

Dear Zarah-jayne, we are very happy your visit to Solana was enjoyable and we really appreciate your kind words about the chalet and Michelle. The Eddystone lighthouse, which is a real iconic and historic gem, is situated 11 miles south of Solana and has a very distinctive flash pattern of twice every ten seconds. The flashing beacon closer in is HMS Scylla which was sunk to create an artifical reef. I have found that EE is the best local carrier on the cliff face but as you said, if you pair your mobile to the Solana WIFI, you should be able to keep all the functionality of your mobile inside the chalet. Best Wishes and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Solana was absolutely beautiful."

It’s well maintained and super clean. It’s well equipped with quality furnishings and linens. The location is stunning and no one would be disappointed if they booked this accommodation. Contact with the owner prior to arrival was welcomed as was the complimentary milk , tea and coffee. A special treat was the mince pies

Dear Debra, Thank you so much for your kind comments and we are elated you had a lovely stay at Solana. We too are very grateful for the detailed attention and effort which Michelle puts towards preparing for all our guests. Best Wishes and we look forward to hosting you again in the near future. • "This is a lovely property and we enjoyed our stay."

It has been decorated and furnished to a high standard, but is lacking a few things that would make it perfect: in particular, we were very surprised that there was no microwave in the kitchen (and as a result, we had to use more electricity to cook things in the oven). Also, the lack of a handrail on the steps to the cottage concerned us - we would not go out after dark for fear of falling on the steps coming back in.

Dear Tony, Thank you for your valued feedback and we are glad you have enjoyed your stay. Immediately following your visit, we added a microwave at Solana. I had initially wanted to avoid doing so for appearances but feedback from our guests seemed to be unanimous otherwise! We hope to see you back again soon at Solana. Property Owner

  • "This was a great place to stay Very clean and scones jam and milk flowers was a nice touch The BBQ was to small to use And no where to hang clothes And a full length mirror would have been nice for the wife But I must say again this was."

    Lovely place with great views

Dear Anthony, Glad you had a restful vacation at Solana. Thank you for your valued feedback which we have onboarded as we do some fine tuning in the near future. Hope to see you back soon. Property Owner

  • "This was an absolutely lovely holiday home."

We had a fantastic time. We felt very welcome, especially when we arrived late with no groceries but found tea, mild and biscuits as a surprise. The caretaker was very friendly and helpful. We were a little disappointed in the lack of a barbeque which was on the listing, but we understand the property is new and still a little bit of a work in progress. I would also recommend some storage for clothes. there are no drawers or wardrobes. Space is an issue for these things, but a suggestion is roller drawers/baskets for under the beds, maybe? Overall a brilliant, quiet home with a beautiful view. Highly recommended.

Dear Sarah, thank you so much for your kind and valued comments and feedback. We are very happy to hear your family had a fantastic time at Solana. Following your feedback, we have since added a chest of drawers to the main bedroom as we continue to adjust the balance between form and function with space at a premium. We made several recent improvements to the reserved parking bay since your stay to include signage, fencing and berming. Finally, we have also reviewed our listing to verify it’s accuracy and do apologize for our oversight in terms of the BBQ which has since been added for guest use. Property Owner

  • "I have already given feedback to the owner via the person looking after the property and requested a partial refund but we have not heard back from him."

The main issues were: - no designated parking space as described, so this was really inconvenient, especially on arrival - no microwave or ironing board - no storage for clothes at all - inner doormat not safe - skidded across the floor on first step - dangerous. - no blinds on main windows, means you can't see TV properly. We would now like to request a partial refund via Sykes as the property was not fully ready; we were the first occupants. I am a frequent Sykes customer and always happy with your properties. With thanks, Alison

About the location

WHITSAND BAY

Torpoint 5 miles.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.
