Found the steps outside extremely slippery when it had been raining also didn’t have internet or phone signal so couldn’t keep in touch with family who were very worried when they couldn’t speak to us my daughter actually rang Peter the owner as she didn’t know what to do as I am disabled and my husband has got cancer

  • "It is difficult to find fault with the lodge, there are a couple of petty things that we did not note when booking and on arrival."

one was the the access roads to the site being very narrow for approx 3 miles( not necessarily a big problem ) and on arrival there is normally a booklet explaining how everything works heating, cooker, TV etc this lodge did not have this. However We were very satisfied with the general condition and location.

  • "A perfect stay!"

The setting is incredible, such a beautiful place. The lodge had everything you could possibly need and more. Very cosy beds, fluffy towels - we'll definitely be coming back!

  • "Lovely, clean and well appointed cabin."

Such a treat to have a laundry room. TO OWNER: It would be very helpful if you could have a folder with the instruction manuals of the appliances. I had to Google to find out which of the three slots I needed for laundry soap in the machine. : ) But that minor thing was my only "complaint", so five stars given. We had a lovely stay. So quiet. Thanks.

  • "What a delightful part of Devon."

Site is in the middle of no where (maybe not ideal for some) but this was perfect for us to escape the normal day to day hustle. Everything was how Peter had explained over the Phone (he even made sure there was fresh milk for when we arrived) Total recommended this get away.

  • "Nice lodge in a very quiet area."

Good forest and river walks nearby. The roads nearby are narrow and pot holey so we avoided driving. Needed google maps to find it as the sat nav took us to Clifford Bridge, then needed 2 left turns along a narrow muddy lane to spot the lodges. Lodge is well furnished. Washing machine and tumble drier needed a clean before we could use them. TV has a Humax box - ok for live tv but not streaming. WiFi was fine. No mobile phone signal but a coin operated landline phone is provided. Kitchen is well equipped and included a dish washer. Fridge with freezer compartment. Milk, tea, etc. provided.l to start you off. No shops nearby so bring plenty of food. Bed is comfortable with a thick duvet. Bathrooms are dated but perfectly usable. Long walk to the recycling area as it’s near the entrance

  • "We had a lovely holiday."

The lodge was a real home from home: the sofas, dining chairs and bed mattresses were incredibly comfortable. The main bathroom was excellent with a lovely shower, however the ensuite hot water had very low pressure at the sink. The front right plate on the hob didn't ignite but we used the other 3. There was a great selection of cutlery and crockery. The only thing missing was a wooden spoon which would have been handy. The lodge is in a gorgeous setting and was very peaceful. The veranda was a real sun trap in the mornings and great for having breakfast out there. We would definitely like to go back. Thank you.

  • "Lovely place, very tranquil and quiet."

I did contact the landlord as the WiFi wouldn't work. I did say not to worry as it was nice to get away from technology. The mattress we're not very comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed both the property and its location. The WiFi issue has now been sorted. The twin beds have both been replaced. The double mattress is fine but may for some people be a little softer than what you may be used to at home. We do hope that we might be able to welcome you back to the property again, in the not too distant future. Property Owner
