Orchard Cottage

All very good incl local amenities, except internet access which was patchy.

Also, parking at property was ok for my small car but would be challenging for a larger car. Neither of these important enough to spoil what was otherwise a great holiday

place was lovely and enjoyed holiday - perhaps leave a cupboard empty for guests to put cereals etc in.

car park is tight and a bit of a pain if you have a large car. House was lovely and cool even with 30 degrees and owners were helpful

A lovely, well maintained cottage with every amenity we could possibly want for a fantastic holiday.

We particularly enjoyed the fresh homemade scones and cream. However whilst welcoming pets the Sykes website omitted to say that there is no safe outside space and pets are understandably not allowed upstairs. Thank goodness the dog friendly beach was only a matter of minutes away across the main road, Holcombe is a delightful quintessential Devon village with lovely pub and gorgeous thatch cottages which have vibrant cottage gardens. A great place to stay but not with pets.

We have had a lovely week at Orchard Cottage.

It is in a very pretty location and so easy to get to beautiful coast and countryside. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well maintained, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. It all made for a really easy and relaxed vacation. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay at Orchard Cottage.

Perfectly situated for going out and about visiting other areas. Nice peaceful village. We were welcomed by the owner and offered support should we have needed anything. The Cottage is well presented, lovely and clean. Everything there for a home from home experience.

Such a restful stay.

A really lovely cottage, as described and exceptionally clean. Well organised and managed making our stay effortless. Great location for exploring South Devon by car and public transport (we did both). Being able to walk to Holcombe beach and then to Teignmouth via the coastal path was just wonderful. Holcombe is such a beautiful and welcoming village. Andrew, the owner was so friendly and keen to ensure our stay was truly enjoyable - which it was! When we arrived, Andrew had left everything we needed for a delicious afternoon tea, which was unexpected but appreciated. The outside seating area is a sun trap and waking to the sound of sheep baa and seagulls was idyllic. We can recommend the Castle Inn and the Smugglers Inn for food and atmosphere - both walkable from the cottage (up a hill) and everyone was so friendly.

Orchard Cottage was perfect for our holiday.

A beautiful cottage only a 25 minute walk into Teignmouth along the coast path. It was well appointed and very cosy. I would highly recommend. Holcombe is a lovely village.

lovely property in a very good position to get to places of interest.

We had a lovely week at Orchard cottage with our 2 grandchildren. the grandson is interested in trains so we visited the Dartmoor Steam Railway and the West Somerset Railway, as well as travelling to Exeter and Plymouth on the train. Would deffinitely stay again should we be in the area. Lovely welcome pack of scones, cream and jam and milk. The owner was there to meet us with local information. We ate in both the Smugglers and The Castle and can recommend both.

We spent a week in Orchard cottage in early January, despite the cold weather we had a lovely stay, the cottage was clean and all facilities were in good working order.

Andrew was a great host, checking in that we had everything we needed, and even posting a pair of earrings to us that we left behind!
