  • "When arriving it took a long time to warm up the property, we followed the instructions regarding boosting the boiler but the water would not warm up and the property was cold to stay in, then onwards we did have hot water so I’m guessing it’s because nobody had boosted the boiler that day."

The shower was listed as a walk in shower but it had a big step to get in this caused difficulties for our disabled family member and the rug in the hallway was a tripping hazard. The property was presentable and the kitchen facilities were great, however the downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms had a strong foisty smell to it and black mould present in places. The bathroom doors wouldn’t close without a lot of force and one of the bathroom locks did not work. The smallest bathroom toilet seat was not properly attached meaning it moved. All 6 people staying in the property stated they would not recommended or re book this stay and for the money paid was very disappointing, I think with the correct maintenance this property could be lovely.

  • "We had a good holiday at the lodge, which was well equipped and comfortable, but one downside was being led to believe there would be a washing machine."

With 2 children we needed this and it took a 20 mile round trip and half a day to find a launderette.

  • "The lodge had a very strong damp and musky smell on arrival and didn’t clear the whole time we were there."

The drawers and wardrobes stunk of damp and were unusable. The heating/hot water (other than shower) we’re not working, we followed instructions left but these were unclear and did not work. The outside space on the decking was unusable as was covered in moss and dirty. The internet was offline and wouldn’t connect from the Wednesday to departure. The lodge itself is lovely just doesn’t feel like it’s maintained very well.

Thank you for your feedback and for reporting the issues you encountered during your stay. We confirm the damp and musty smell has been addressed and now the heating system will automatically trigger at 16 degrees so the property will remain dry. The hot water system has been checked and the pressure has been corrected to the right pressure bar and the housekeeping team will monitor during the changeovers to make sure it will remain stable. Unfortunately for the internet the provider had a some issues on the line but they have now been resolved. Property Owner
