"Overall excellent, a few suggestions: It’s obviously all very new which is ok, but the garden really needs some plants."

Inside it needs some softer lighting like lamps, as it’s a bit too bright and intense with so many sport lights. Biggest issue is the fence obscure the beautiful view!! Last up, the coffee machine sounds like a steam train! Overall very good though, but feedback is always good

Thank you so much for your feedback and I am glad you enjoyed your stay . I fully intend to provide some pot plants to improve the outside space further for enjoyment . Client safety was a priority when considering the boundary -the picket fence still allows excellent views of the moor and countryside . Inside I hope you found all the dimmer switches to soften the lighting in the communal rooms . I will look at alternative lighting arrangements based on your suggestion . I hope you will return for a future visit Property Owner

"Unfortunately, despite Heathmoor being a well-presented, modern and clean property I cannot recommend this accommodation to anyone who has a car, children or plans on taking a glass of water to bed."

There is no mention of the single-track, seemingly unadopted road leading up to the property in Sykes' listing of Heathmoor. The road is made entirely of rubble, rocks and potholes. Unless you have a tractor, I recommend you approach the property by foot only. I noticed all of the vehicles in the neighbouring properties had extra depth on the tread of their tyres to accommodate for the state of the road - this is entirely essential. The conditions of the road leading up to Heathmoor, resulted in one of our tyres bursting whilst driving on nearby A-road. All four of our alloys were damaged by the rubble and all tyres had to be replaced during our stay, as jagged stones embedded into the rubber. During the period of time whilst our car was at Halfords (Plymouth), I called Rachael, the owner, to inform her that we may require a later check-out due to not having a vehicle to load our possessions. Rachael claimed that there was nothing wrong with the road and disputed the fact that the neighbours have modified their tyres to accommodate for the road conditions. We never heard from her again.

HORRABRIDGE

Tavistock 4.5 miles; Plymouth 11.5 miles.

Horrabridge is a charming riverside village located within beautiful Dartmoor National Park in Devon. The River Walkham, well known for its salmon fishing, flows vigorously under the village bridge, which is said to be the oldest in West Devon. An excellent base for a holiday in Devon, Horrabridge has a combination of olde-worlde charm and modern facilities, including a good pub near the river and a selection of small shops. There are many excellent walks starting from the village, taking you up onto Dartmoor and providing you with glorious views of the surrounding fields and hills where sheep and Dartmoor ponies gently graze. The market town of Tavistock, the main town of Dartmoor's western moor, is an exceptionally attractive town, owing much to fine Victorian architecture and its picturesque location on the banks of the River Tavy. There is no shortage of shops and cafes in Tavistock, plus the town is home to the purpose built Pannier Market - a must for every visitor.
