"The Lingcombe Barn itself is a very beautiful and comfortable cottage."
And so tastefully decorated!
All things we needed were available. We felt at home from the first moment we arrived.
So 10 points for everything!
The only point of criticism concerns the road to the barn. Our car didn’t like the putholes in it at all.

"This cottage (once a pig sty,now a lovely well furnished and appointed cottage) is in a beautifully remote location so a car is needful to really get around unless you want to chill out in a wifi unbothered location, mostly."
Which I did. Two caveats. It's more for couples or single like me. Maybe a baby or two toddlers if you brought your own cots/bed linen. It's not for large families. Also TAXIS are rare as hens teeth in that locality but I can recommend Chards Taxis. If you want to chill out,see unspoiled nature and walk on the moor and do not find grazing animals intimidating this place is for you.
Hi Jane
Many thanks for your 5 star review. The Barn is lovely and the location perfect for getting away from it all and walking up on the open moors. We absolutely love it.
Just to confirm we do have wifi in the cottage and we have actually said no children/babies I’m afraid. For couples or a single person it is truly getting back to nature.
We would welcome you back to visit again.
With best wishes.

"Lovely Barn conversion, clean and in very nice area for walking, nice sitting outside in the morning and evenings but the scruffy white van park opposite slightly destroyed the nice feel and views of the moor."
Otherwise very nice a a credit to the carpenter who did all the woodwork.
Dear Mr Westwood.
Thank you for your review and we were pleased you liked Lingcombe Barn. Our neighbour is still having some building work done and I suspect that was the builders van which is parked there when he is working. All our land lies at the back of the barn so still plenty of space and seating to enjoy the best views of the moors.
With best wishes.

"Beautiful property in the perfect location, my only criticism would be that it could do with a facility to wash clothes especially if staying for more than a few days."
Dear Mr Henry
Thank you for your excellent review. The property is stunning and the location perfect for walking and exploring Dartmoor.
Your feedback is useful about the washing machine. We did plan to put one in but then felt wondered if people would actually use it as many people stay for short breaks as well as a week. However, as the cottage would also be a great place to visit in the Winter as it has a cosy log burner I could see walkers would benefit from a washing machine particularly if they had got wet and muddy.
We will reconsider and see what we can organize for the future.
Thank you and best wishes.

"We had a lovely week at Lincombe Barn."
The property is pristine, well designed and had every comfort I could have wished for. The hosts were attentive to temporary difficulties and communicated in a friendly and timely way to help us navigate these.
Driving to the property was complicated and the roads are generally in poor repair, and fair warning of this was helpful.
Overall a wonderful break in a truly rural and beautiful spot.
Hi Melanie
Thank you for your excellent review and we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Lingcombe Barn. Thank you for your understanding as well with the Wifi issues which fortunately were resolved the day after you arrived having been hit by a huge thunderstorm a few days before!
Driving to the property currently is a little complicated as the normal road you would drive down is closed due to gas works but it will be open again in April. Once the normal road is open again, finding the property is a lot easier and the lanes accessing it, in better shape.
Once again, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. The Barn is indeed in a truly beautiful part of Dartmoor.

Some beautiful walks around the cottage and also within a short drive.

"A very high quality property."
Good walking from the doorstep. Highly recommended.
Hi Simon
Thank you very much for your 5 star review and so pleased you liked the cottage. The walking is excellent from the Barn and we are very lucky that the Two Moors Way/Mariners Way literally passes outside our door. There are some great places to walk to such as Castle Drogo NT, Grimspound and the well known Warren House Inn.
We would welcome you back to stay again.
With best wishes.

"Excellent property, very tastefully done, spotlessly clean every thing you could need, one little thing for me personally was the feather duvet and pillows, I always take my own Simba pillow and took a sheet and a blanket with me just in case I was to warm, so it wasn’t a problem had antihistamines too, apart from that really lovely place to stay, with visiting sheep too ."
Hi Wyn
Thank you for your excellent review and so pleased you liked the barn and enjoyed your stay.
Yes we do provide the down pillows and duvet as they provide such a soft and luxurious feel - it sounds like you managed okay which I am pleased about.
Thank you again and hopefully you will return for another visit sometime.

"Had a lovely stay, the barn has been finished to such a high standard and the owners have clearly put a huge amount of thought, love, money and time into the restoration but also the set up for short term guests."
The access was a bit challenging as we don't have a four wheel drive car but we managed fine in the end, just had to take it slow and hope we didn't meet anyone coming in the opposite direction! Would recommend for a summer or winter break (as rhe barn is SUPER hot with the qood burner going) for a couple or two friends.
Dear Melissa
Thank you so much for your 5 star review and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Lingcombe Barn. It is a very special place and although the access is a little remote it is in such a wonderful location for visiting Dartmoor.
We hope you may return for another holiday sometime.
With best wishes.
