What guests are saying
The property was really beautiful and whilst being on the same ground as the main house, you felt completely tucked away and separate.
Lots of great walks and beaches nearby. The kitchen is as very well stocked with all the utensils and cooking equipment you need. The property included a welcome hamper with a very limited selection of cleaning products, but as we were staying for a week, we required more than what was provided including hand soap, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Additionally, providing basic shower products including shampoo and shower gel would have been a welcome touch. The checkout procedure was a little cryptic and there was limited information included as to how to leave the property. Despite these minor issues, we had a fantastic stay. The hosts were very responsive to our messages about the heating. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The barn was cosy and snug.
A lovely, comfortable cottage well presented and with high quality fixings and furnishings.
Had everything you could need, including a washing machine which wasn't in the listing. Offered privacy but in an ideal location for exploring many beaches, towns and buildings in all directions within 40min, often less. We found some great local pubs though the lanes are a bit narrow to walk on so usually a drive out. Supermarkets within a short drive. Communication was good beforehand and the owners were friendly but unobtrusive. Like a previous mention we were pleased to find a more everyday set of crockery amongst the china but would be good to have a larger set of everyday drinking/beer/wine glasses. Also, although dog friendly and a brilliant enclosed garden, it should be noted that dogs aren't allowed upstairs or to be left alone in the property. While this didn't affect us it may do others. Thank you for a lovely stay, I'm sure we will return one day.
Fantastic stay for a week with friends and two dogs.
Dukes Barn was spotless, well equipped and BBQ was great extra. Had my birthday while we were away, and celebrating at the barn completed a lovely day, will definitely return soon.
