  • "What a little gem this is!"

Perfectly located to explore the coastline, harbour and all the independent ice cream shops, cafes and pubs. Amazing sea view and very relaxing to sit and watch (and listen) to the waves after a busy day exploring the town, coast or hills. Great communication throughout the booking and felt very well looked after. Well equipped apartment and very comfy beds. Definitely recommend.

  • "Lovely apartment with amazing views as advertised."

Comfortable living area and a well stocked kitchen with everything that you need. Bedrooms are compact but comfortable, and bathrooms were clean. All in all we had a great stay and would recommend. Things to consider: The stairs - obviously mentioned in the listing so not a surprise - only time it was an issue for us was loading and unloading the car one first and last day. Also when people from other flats are going up and down stairs it’s very loud. The pillows - they were not great would recommend taking your own if you’re fussy about them/have any kind of neck issue. The headboard in the master bedroom is the pretty but not particularly comfortable to lean on. The external bins - the bins were overflowing pretty much every day we were there and we couldn’t find a recycling bin identified for the apartment. The bins were emptied on one of our last days but there then seemed that others were using the apartment’s bin, many on the road had a lock to stop this happening which I can imagine is a pain but it wasn’t ideal walking downstairs not knowing if you were going to be able to put the rubbish anywhere. Because they were overflowing the smell wasn’t great and there were a lot of flies around. Church outside - there is a church outside the bedroom windows which chimes on the hour - if you are a light sleeper this and the seagulls may cause you a problem especially if you have the windows open. All in all the above were minor things and absolutely didn’t dampen our enjoyment, worth mentioning that Jason was a great host and made sure we knew he was available should he be needed. He offered to arrange a parking permit for us just before the stay but we had already purchased one.

Thanks so much for staying at SeaSound and your honest feedback. We've now replaced all the pillows, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Property Owner

  • "Stayed as a family of four."

2 adults and 2 teenagers. Just Wow! A truly beautiful apartment. Very clean, very comfortable and very high quality fixture and fittings (even the kitchen utensils are branded ones!) and a view that I never got tired of! The location is perfect for exploring Ilfracombe so the car could stay in the nearby car park (cove car park near the lifeboat station, 0.18 miles away) the permit for which was sorted prior to arrival by Jason, the host who was super helpful and responsive. A really nice guy. The arrival and departure process was smooth and easy and I didn't struggle to get my car near for unloading/loading. There was a downloadable info pack that had all the instructions for the apartment such as how to use the cooker, thermostat etc. A nice touch. The best food we had was at the nearby pub called the Hip at No8. Really nice burgers and good atmosphere. Lots of restaurants are closed Monday-Wednesday and then get busy so booking is necessary so I didn't try many other places. Wetherspoons is always available and their rooftop area is nice enough. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

  • "Stunning property with a stunning view."

The apartment was immaculate and clean on arrival. Everything you needed was provided and Jason was the perfect host. He was helpful and always easy to contact to answer any query. The view from the living space was breath taking and really sold it for us. Although the property was stunning its not ideal for a family of giants with most of my family 6ft plus as a tad on the small size. We all had a great night's sleep with beds and bedding top notch. One of my concerns was the parking which in reality was not an issue. We were able to park outside most days and the restrictions were only from 10am to 5pm so if luck permitted you could park outside overnight. Jason arranged a parking permit at a minimal cost which allowed parking a few minutes away without any fuss and gave peace of mind. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

  • "This is a lovely apartment with the most wonderful sea view!"

It’s well appointed has all you need for a short stay in this picturesque harbour town. Whether as a base for exploring the various (and recommended) coastal walks and views or as a base for visiting further afield in North Devon, this flat is ideal. Jason, the property manager was extremely helpful in providing information about local restaurants and pubs as well as giving advice for parking. Our personal recommendations would be - Restaurants: The Antidote No. 71 Pubs: Hip at No.8 (about 200m away - was the hip and pistol) George & Dragon Don’t miss the Tunnels and Beaches, the Verity statue in the Harbour, the coastal views and the RNLI training on a Thursday around 6.

Loved watching the tide coming in and out directly beneath you, yes you are that close as the pictures suggest. Super comfortable beds and sofa, not forgetting the chaise longue. Top spec appliances and lots of nice touches and space. Excellent communication from Jason, he sorted out the parking permit for the week which was for the 7 days we were there. Within a 5 minute walk of many beaches, bars and restaurants. The people here are lovely, so friendly and helpful. I recommend the seagull poo icecream from Joey's and Maddies for the biggest Plaice I've ever seen. Thanks for a great week!

Thank you so much Kelvin for taking the time to give us your feedback! It seems that you have enjoyed all the aspects of SeaSound and Ilfracombe that we love being able to help people experience. • "The apartment was lovely."

Well equipped and spacious kitchen and living area. The decor is very nice though I felt was to the detriment of storage in places e.g. bedside tables have no draw space and only 3 very small draws in the master bedroom cupboard. Though lots of hanging space in both bedrooms and shelves/racks in twin room. We know local area well and it is well placed for easy access to harbour, high street, theatre etc. be ware of the main steps- very slippy when it has rained. Obviously the view is the showstopper and can happily while the time away watching the boats and the birds with a coffee or a wine.

The whole family has a great time, the only problem we had and this is really a whole of Illfracombe problem and nothing the owner can do, parking was an absolute nightmare! Even with paying for a permit upfront and having a blue disability badge, we struggled every day to park. The apartment and the views it provided were excellent. Wouldn’t hesitate to use this apartment again, just keep the parking situation in mind, when having days out your best planning to return back after 6pm when parking is a lot better. Very steep hill, narrow road with parking restrictions if you could park at all which we couldn't . We were on the 4th floor so 3 flights of stairs to climb! This needs to be considered before booking if you have any health issues or unfit! Once inside the Apartment it is excellent, all your needs are catered for, spotlessly clean, fantastic views . The second bedroom is small and really only suitable for 2 chidren as compact. 3 minutes walk to harbour, cafes, restaurants and shops. You couldn't wish for a better location, just bear in mind the that parking outside is very challenging but plenty of nearby car parks where you can buy a weekly permit £42.00.

The photos on the Sykes site are great but cannot do justice to the changing views out to sea. Everything in the apartment was well planned and with a touch of luxury from super comfy beds, expensive towels and box of hand made chocs on arrival. Ilfracombe is a fabulous spot with wonderful coastal walks to Combe Martin and Woolacombe (look out for seals) - the walk from Watersmeet to Lynton/Lynmouth is also beautiful. Great choice of restaurants and cafes from the up market to the local Wetherspoons (great breakfast on the last morning). We were lucky enough to see harbour porpoises out to sea on our final day. After a long evening drive from London, sinking into the very comfy bed was bliss. Waking up the next day and enjoying a coffee to the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks and watching the ever changing patterns of the sea made the past busy week at work seem like a million miles away. We had a two year old in tow and the apartment was very child friendly, the second bedroom had enough space for a cot which the hosts provided as well as children’s crockery and a high chair.
