  • "First and foremost this is a lovely property, in a great location to visit the area."

Light and airy with easy parking, and a lovely, secure dog-friendly garden. The beds were supremely comfortable and the property is well presented. However, we were very disappointed with the showers. Upstairs, over the bath, the shower is at the sloping end of the bath and the water pressure isn’t great. Consequently, you can’t get close enough to the shower, to use it properly. Also, the shower curtain sucks in and clings to you. The downstairs shower is small and again, has a shower curtain which sucks in and gives very little room. Because there is no proper screen, water splashes off the shower tray and covers the floor. We had to mop every time we used the shower. Very irritating. Also, storage in bathrooms was very limited. All in all we enjoyed our stay, such a shame about the bathrooms. There were only two of us staying, in our opinion, it would have been tricky with more guests.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re so pleased you enjoyed the property’s location, comfort, and garden — it’s great to hear these aspects made your stay enjoyable. We’re sorry the shower setup and bathroom storage didn’t meet expectations. Your comments are appreciated and will be shared with the owner to help improve the guest experience. Thanks again for staying with us — we hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "I must admit I had slight appreciation due to there being no reviews when I booked earlier in the year, but thankfully Maceley turned out to be a fabulous base for us."

The rooms are tastefully furnished (as advertised). There are 3 separate floors, our son and his girlfriend had the ground floor (which gave them their own space) with their room and shower room. On the first floor was the large open plan family room consisting of the kitchen, huge dining table and the lounge area with ample comfortable seating. Upstairs again we had the master bedroom, and next door was the room with single beds, and a shared a bathroom. It was a shame that the weather wasn’t nice enough for us to chill in the enclosed garden (again as advertised). Enjoyed our short walk down to the estuary and into town. Thoroughly recommend Maceley to anyone wanting to stay in South Devon. Five stars

  • "Everything you could need, very spacious, with a dog secure garden so we could relax outside."

The property was located on a hill which made it difficult to walk into town as my partner has a heart condition but it would not be an issue for others. Would definitely book again which is perhaps the best indication of how pleased we were with the holiday.

  • "Lovely property, perfect for relaxing."

Very convenient location for exploring the surrounding areas and Kingsbridge. Lovely pub just down the road looking out to the estuary and plenty of eating options in Kingsbridge , Mangetout perfect for lunch or a coffee, Crabshell & Seven Stars both served good pub food and scrumpy fish & chips from The Codfather. Would thoroughly recommend.

It is packed with boutique shops, high street brands and independent producers, restaurants serving freshly caught seafood, and Salcombe Gin and Ice cream!
