  • "We stayed at the lovely Park Cottage over the May half term."

The place is actually cuter than on the photos. Perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids. The downstairs area has good sized living room and a big kitchen - well equipped for simple quick dinners. The garden is spread across a few levels, the seating on the terrace is lovely in the evening. Bedrooms are good size with comfy beds and a newly decorated bathroom. We had a lovely welcome touch on the arrival - a few goodies left for us in the fridge, which was super helpful as we didn't stop at the shop on the way. There is detailed visitors book with local tips, the near by beaches are amazing and only 10 min drive! However the lanes around are super super tight so drive carefully. Village pub is super lovely too, very handy for a pint and lemonade after a long hot day on the beach. There is also large playground in the village too. Highly recommend.

So pleased you had such a good time all of you. Thankyou for the feedback Property Owner

  • "What a great find this was!"

Very lovely and cosy. Immaculately clean and modern and had everything you need in a holiday cottage. Lovely welcome pack on our arrival whicjh was very much appreciated. Don't be put off by it being next to a pub.The Dolphin Inn was very friendly and no noise. Unfortunately at the time of our visit they were not doing food but this was a temporary situation. We had a lovely walk along the coastline and walked out from the cottage. Lovely garden totally private and lots of places to sit and have a barbecue. Great shower and comfy bed. We will be back. Thank you!! Simon and Sally

  • "Park cottage is a lovely cottage with lovely sunny garden on different levels with many seating areas ."

Nice friendly and welcoming pub next door and the locals are very welcoming too, we even went to their charity bingo night in the village hall on our first night to help raise funds for their local kids skate park (even our dog was invited) We used the cottage as our base for the week to explore the local area on foot with our dog Dottie and by car to go further away. When we arrived we found a nice welcome back to get us started

Thankyou John, I’m really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Following your feedback I have put additional items in the kitchen; the soap I missed on the shower has gone - apologies for that. Property Owner

The property

Park Cottage sits quietly in the pretty village of Kingston near St Ann’s Chapel, offering a characterful place to settle into life at a gentler pace while exploring the South Hams and the surrounding coastline.

Full of personality and warmth, this pet-friendly cottage feels instantly welcoming, with traditional features that hint at its history and thoughtful spaces designed for shared time together.

The sitting room is a real highlight, where exposed beams frame the space, and a woodburning stove creates a glowing centrepiece on cooler evenings.

It’s an easy place to gather after a day out, whether you’re swapping stories, playing games, or simply enjoying the stillness of the village.

The kitchen and dining area is equally inviting, set up for everything from slow breakfasts to long evening meals, with doors opening straight into the garden so the outside becomes part of everyday living.

A winding staircase with a rope bannister leads upstairs to two pleasing bedrooms, one double and one twin, both offering calm spaces to settle into at the end of the day.

A family shower room completes the upper floor.

Outside, the tiered garden is full of charm, with a flagstone patio for outdoor meals, tucked-away seating spots, and a pond that adds to the cottage’s storybook feel.

It’s a lovely place to linger with a coffee in the morning or enjoy the evening light as it falls across the garden.

From Park Cottage, days out are wonderfully varied.

Plymouth offers a rich mix of maritime history and culture, from wandering the historic Barbican and Sutton Harbour, to exploring the National Marine Aquarium, and enjoying waterfront walks along Plymouth Hoe with its sweeping sea views.

Dartmouth brings classic Devon charm, where you can cruise along the River Dart, explore Dartmouth Castle and its coastal paths, or browse independent shops before settling into riverside cafés.

Paignton is ideal for traditional seaside fun, with its long promenade and sandy beach, family days at Paignton Zoo, and nostalgic steam train journeys on the Dartmouth Steam Railway.

With its village setting, character-filled interior and easy access to coast, countryside and vibrant towns, Park Cottage offers a memorable base for discovering this beautiful corner of the South West.
