The property

Park Cottage sits quietly in the pretty village of Kingston near St Ann’s Chapel, offering a characterful place to settle into life at a gentler pace while exploring the South Hams and the surrounding coastline.

Full of personality and warmth, this pet-friendly cottage feels instantly welcoming, with traditional features that hint at its history and thoughtful spaces designed for shared time together.

The sitting room is a real highlight, where exposed beams frame the space, and a woodburning stove creates a glowing centrepiece on cooler evenings.

It’s an easy place to gather after a day out, whether you’re swapping stories, playing games, or simply enjoying the stillness of the village.

The kitchen and dining area is equally inviting, set up for everything from slow breakfasts to long evening meals, with doors opening straight into the garden so the outside becomes part of everyday living.

A winding staircase with a rope bannister leads upstairs to two pleasing bedrooms, one double and one twin, both offering calm spaces to settle into at the end of the day.

A family shower room completes the upper floor.

Outside, the tiered garden is full of charm, with a flagstone patio for outdoor meals, tucked-away seating spots, and a pond that adds to the cottage’s storybook feel.

It’s a lovely place to linger with a coffee in the morning or enjoy the evening light as it falls across the garden.

From Park Cottage, days out are wonderfully varied.

Plymouth offers a rich mix of maritime history and culture, from wandering the historic Barbican and Sutton Harbour, to exploring the National Marine Aquarium, and enjoying waterfront walks along Plymouth Hoe with its sweeping sea views.

Dartmouth brings classic Devon charm, where you can cruise along the River Dart, explore Dartmouth Castle and its coastal paths, or browse independent shops before settling into riverside cafés.

Paignton is ideal for traditional seaside fun, with its long promenade and sandy beach, family days at Paignton Zoo, and nostalgic steam train journeys on the Dartmouth Steam Railway.

With its village setting, character-filled interior and easy access to coast, countryside and vibrant towns, Park Cottage offers a memorable base for discovering this beautiful corner of the South West.

Note: This property has a refundable Good Housekeeping bond of £150.

ST ANN'S CHAPEL

Kingsbridge 6 miles; Salcombe 13.2 miles.

St Ann’s Chapel is a small hamlet situated in the South Hams area of Devon, England, between the towns of Modbury and Kingsbridge. Within this small hamlet, you will find a good local shop and The Pickwick Inn, a charming pub serving food. Less than three miles away is Bigbury on Sea a village with a large sandy beach (surf school, cafe) and stretching to Burgh Island (famous art deco hotel, setting for Agatha Christie novels). Good golf course at Bigbury. The South West Coast Path is worth exploring as is the real ale pub in the nearby coastal village of Ringmore. A little further afield the traditional market town of Kingsbridge sits at the head of the many creeked Kingsbridge Estuary (boat trips), and plays host to a number of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, art galleries and antique shops. Further afield sensational Salcombe at the mouth of the Kingsbridge estuary with its many cove beaches and boutique shops is worth a visit. St Ann’s Chapel is a picturesque hamlet, and a perfect base for exploring this diverse and interesting area.
