Bay View

We have had a wonderful holiday staying at Bay View ,from the breath taking view from the property of all the bay.

To sightseeing it was easy to access several locations. The house has a welcome feeling the moment you walk through the door, we will definitely go there again

The property was clean and had everything we needed for a great stay.

We would definitely return if we re-visit the area!

Had a lovely week in Paignton whilst staying at Bay View.

The house is situated in a fabulous spot, high on the hill with fantastic views of the Riviera coastline. Getting into the town on foot is fine using the railed steps leading down to an 8 min walk to the seafront etc. As long as you are "steady" it shouldn't be a problem. Coming back though, it is extremely arduous and unless you are healthy, fit and have stamina it would be an issue. The house is suitable for a small group of people with 2 comfortably sized bedrooms and a box room. The kitchen is equipped ok, though could possibly offer a tad more (there's no Pyrex dishes, bowls etc.), but this is no big deal. Lounge very pleasant, leather sofa and chair, dining table etc. ok sized TV. The house accepts pets and I brought along my 2 little dogs. Personally, I think the house is not really suitable due to the open front garden and the issue with the back terraces (see below). Not sure how a medium/bigger dog would cope. The open staircase was also an issue with my 2 tiny dogs. Now to the garden and this is the only area of the house where I do have concern from a Health and Safety point of view. The three levels are small. The patio area accessed from the lounge has a small table with 4 chairs, no parasol and a garden box which is full of weeds. The 2nd level down (hand rail provided), is a small decked area and has an old rusty BBQ, empty pots and nothing else. The 3rd tier to the ground is accessed by just 2 steps to an overgrown ground plot (just a covering of old rotten bark) that has a locked back gate, another rusty BBQ and rubbish etc. I state overgrown as there are at least 4 fruit trees crammed into a small space that needs to be cleared. One of our party scraped his scalp on the branches of a tree on the first day. There's no night security light at the back of the house for this garden, and getting to the ground tier with no rail, security light or any warning of the 2 small steps is an accident waiting to happen. It is so concerning to me that I feel it needs to be reported before someone falls and suffers a serious break. All the descriptions above are from my point of view and other guests may not have any issues whatsoever, and I would like to say that all in all we had a lovely time! The area is fantastic, and the comments hopefully will just make future guests aware.

The cottage was great, had everything we needed including friendly neighbours.

WiFi signal was strong, great view over the bay, lovely welcome package on arrival and easy all round self service check in. The facilities were great, all the kitchen appliances were in great condition, the outdoor space was nice to sit out on. It was clean and well maintained, would stay again. A few qualms we had was that the curtains let a lot of light in on a morning. And getting onto the drive can be quite difficult if you have a larger vehicle, as there were cars parked directly across the whole time, and it is a narrow road. But the length of the drive is great, can easily fit two cars on it.

We had a lovely holiday at Bay View, the property was excellent, very comfortable and cleanliness, everything you need provided and a lovely welcome pack.

There were wonderful views over Paignton and down to the English Riviera coast. Bay View location was well located to explore the area without travelling to far. We walked the coast, took the steam train to Dartmouth and visited National Trust to Greenway and Coleton Fishacre wonderful properties and estates to explore. We had a great holiday!

, Great location for exploring South Devon. View of Paignton glorious offering excellent sunrises and sun sets. If there were some pottery baking dishes would be the best equipped kitchen

When staying in holiday accommodation there is always an issue.

With the TV, the cooker, the shower, things that matter. However, this was the first time that we did not experience any issues and therefore we could relax as soon as we arrived. Just a comment to the owners - we all want to do our bit for climate change so please give as much information as possible regarding recycling. We understood the boxes. The wheelie bin we put out for days and it did not get emptied. And nowhere for kitchen scraps. Thank you

The house was in the perfect location for visiting the Torbay area.

It was so clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the very generous welcome treats and so did the dogs!

We were a little unsure of an estate house for a holiday, however the property had great views from both the lounge and master bedroom across the town and bay, great for watching the weather and sunrise, it was a quiet location with easy access back to the main road.

It proved to be a great base for days out by bus, and both mainline and steam train stations, with links to the Dartmouth to Totnes ferry. A bus every 10 minutes to Brixham and half hour and hourly services to other nearby towns, we left the car on the drive all week. It's just a 15 minute walk from the house down to the bus and train stations, via a flight of steps at the end of the adjoining street, so long as you can manage the steps from town back up, you would certainly get fit living here!

Thoroughly reccomend Bayview which lives up to its name as lovely views from most windows and patio to sit out on and enjoy a glass of wine.

The house is beautifully decorated and equipped with every thing you need and many extra surprises so welcoming . Extremely comfy beds.You can walk right in and start enjoying your holiday as we did.Caryl.
