"Our stay at Greenhedges was very brief due to my husbands health but on entering the property whether through the side gate or the back gate the trees and shrubs were overgrown and could do with cutting back to make access easier."
The oven needed a good clean . The noise from the loose manhole outside kept us awake most of the night. Perhaps this is because we are not used to being on a main road. (Not the owners fault)
So I think Greenhedges is not for us.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're sorry to hear that Greenhedges wasn't quite the right fit for you, and we hope your husband's health is improving. We appreciate your comments regarding the garden and access, and we're pleased to confirm that the overgrown vegetation is being addressed. The loose manhole cover has also now been repaired following a short road closure. Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we wish you both all the very best.

"Absolutely loved our first stay at Green hedges."
The house and the surrounding area are beautiful and we couldn’t have loved it more to the degree that we have already booked for next year. Very dog friendly and we appreciated the stair gate for keeping our fur friends where we needed them to be as we forgot ours. Counting down to our next visit.

"When arriving on our first night had to hunt round property for information folder."
No heating on due to change in clocks and owner (who lives next door) was away so house pretty cold until information folder discovered in cupboard. Kitchen small and no cupboard designated for food. Some areas were dusty and work surfaces in kitchen were not clean. Bedding was clean but quality could be improved particularly the pillows. Prior to arrival disappointed to see the described off road parking was across the garage entrance which was unsatisfactory with a bigger car.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay with us - we really do appreciate it, and for bringing these points to our attention.
We’re sorry to hear that you had difficulty locating the information folder on arrival. We will be updating this to a simpler format and ensuring it is left clearly visible for all future guests.
We have also noted your comments regarding food storage in the kitchen and will of course look to create a designated space for this moving forward.
Your feedback regarding cleanliness, and bedding quality, have been shared with the owner so these areas can be reviewed and improved wherever possible.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback - we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again.

"Had a lovely few days away with family and my dog."
The cottage was clean, very cosy and warm on arrival. Little welcome gifts were welcomed and the apple juice was amazing, bought some in the local shop to take home. Owners had excellent communication and l knew they were on hand if needed. The area was great for walking with the dog and the beach was on our doorstep. The town had everything you needed and the cafes and eating places were amazing and most were dog friendly. Would definitely book again when in the area.

"Lovely dog friendly property in a great location with the village high street and beach within easy walking distance."
There's a park at the end of the road giving easy access to the East Devon Way which runs through Budleigh Salterton. Take the cliff walk down onto the beach and then explore the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve. Return for a lazy coffee and cake at one of the many good cafes, or a quiet drink and meal at one of the very friendly pubs.

"The property with tlc as per review by Sandra Sep 2025 could be lovely and a cosy holiday."
Unfortunately the oven really does need a deep clean as preciously mentioned in the above review.
The property is in a good location and we took advantage of the town to eat, drink and shop as well as travelling to other places local to Budleigh Salterton.
Thank you very much for your feedback. The oven is cleaned at every changeover, but we completely appreciate your comments and are now looking into arranging a professional deep clean to ensure it’s up to the standard our guests expect. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the location, and we really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

"Could have been a lovely cottage needs some tlc."
Jungle front and rear gardens need cutting bk garden not looked after. Previous occupants dog hair in lounge and on the stairs and dog mess in garden , should have been checked and rectified before our arrival. Oven unsuable as needs a real deep clean and the toaster has seen better days. On the upside nice location and easy to get to town. Locals in one pub inparticular lovely bunch and really friendly. Cottage central for visiting attractions and other locations.

"The location is wonderful for both the town and also for the beach - via a cliff path."
The road makes the front garden rather noisy, but there's a nice back courtyard for sitting outside. Our host Ben was friendly and available.
On the negative side we would have appreciated working locks on both the lavatory doors, and were sorry that there was no longer the advertised table tennis.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the cottage's location and shady courtyard garden. Thanks for the feedback: We will be replacing the tennis table which had to be retired after 30 years of use, and we will replace the internal locks immediately.

"Great location and comfortable stay for myself and elderly mother with our Labrador."
Beds were very comfortable and a large walk in shower . A good utility room and downstairs toilet too. A good enclosed garden with shade for our dog to play .
The location was spot on for dog walks and a stroll into Budleigh salterton. Coastal path and a common to run the dog. Or a woodland walk for shade.
A pebbled beach with a good sized area for the dog to go in the sea in summer months .
Lots of good places to visit by car or bus . Botanical gardens , Sidmouth Exmouth and Topsham to name but a few.
The owner was on hand if we needed anything too.

"A lovely property
Great location which made for a relaxing stay."
Close to the town itself and the beach, and allocated parking was very useful too. Owners lived next door, and whilst we didn't need to contact them during the stay, it was comforting to know they were on hand if required.
