Comfortable accommodation although the lounge lighting is poor for ageing eyes to read.

However, the owner did quickly provide an extension lead to enable us to move the standard lamp to resolve this. TV HDMI sockets 1 and 2 do work but the labelling is a little eccentric; socket 3 does not. Excellent position for visiting Barnstaple town, Arlington Court, Rosemoor Gardens, Linton and Lynmouth etc. Excellent Chippy at The Pelican especially the eat-in area which has an extensive menu although closing at 20:30.

Directions to the property were accurate as was key collection which was simple and straightforward.

Off-road carparking is a key issue for us and the parking here was plenty big enough for our Ford Kuga. The online photos are fairly representative of the property which is very spacious with comfortable furnishings and a well equipped kitchen although some of the kitchen cupboards are in pretty poor condition close-up. The main bedroom (the only one we used) is large, the bed was comfortable and the bedding reasonable. The hot water and towels were fine and the washing machine was a real plus for us. The lack of a dryer wasn’t a problem as there’s plenty of room to put up an airer for drying if the weather is poor outside. There was only one loo roll though for a nearly three week stay. The walk into town is slightly more intimidating than it appears on a map as there’s a fairly steep hill and no footpath but thankfully traffic is fairly light and considerate of walkers (in our experience) and it did only take @ 15 minutes to the station, buses and supermarket. A really good location for exploring north west Devon with lots of lovely villages and coast walks.

Spacious, comfortable and well equipped with a lovely patio area and small garden.

Ideally located for the whole of North Devon.

The property was perfect for our needs for a mix of exploring both by car and cycling.

The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating towards our requests.

Comfortable cottage with a delightful multi level garden where you can find sun or shade as desired.

Kitchen is well equipped. Our adult sons who joined us for the first week reckon a cockerel across the road has attitude and a Devon accent! One improvement would be to keep the bushes behind the swing seat lower so that can enjoy the view from the round ‘lunch in the sun’ table.

The cottage had everything we needed.

It was cosy and comfortable - We needed a break and we felt well rested after our visit. Would definately visit again!

Lovely place , however would benefit from the use of a tumble dryer as my son who's on tour needed his clothes dried for the following day.

The toilet seat was very loose and does need some attention as does the sealant around the bath looking a bit tired. But we all enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back Thank you very much.
