The road/lane leading to property covered in potholes most you can't miss lovely cottage no clear instructions on how heating works and where bin and recycling go this sort of thing would be best in welcome pack i did ask the owner and he was just concerned about what I wanted to bin as I said general waste cleaning could be better as crumbs on the top of the toaster and on the floor large cobwebs in the corners lots of dust on windowsills and bedside tables few small hairs in the bed on my arrival on first inspection which I found the hoover and sorted that straight away as was tired from the traveling and the grass in the garden hadn't been cut in a while dog wasn't so happy as it was long lovely view over the back fields nice and peaceful and close to lots of walks and wifi works well when you find the details but the smart tv in the main bedroom wouldn't connect to the Internet did my best to leave the cottage cleaner than the way I found it when I arrived

Lovely little cottage , very well maintained and clean , the owner was onsite and eager to help with any questions/ issues , we would definitely recommend and would also be happy to return in the future

Spacious accommodation, well equipped with bathrooms/toilets .

Unfortunately there was evidence that there had been a dog in residence with shed hair on the downstairs furniture . Kitchen had good facilities but drinking glasses were limited to small goblets and pint glasses!. We had a very enjoyable week here . The narrow access roads were blighted by the national scourge of potholes, but as everywhere else you learn to avoid them.

The cottage was clean, comfy.

The washing machine and dishwasher was helpful. A lovely garden right size for our dog and all closed in. In the kitchen anything I needed I found. It is a lovely cottage.

The gentleman was a lovely man, gave us some very nice tomatoes.

The property was clean, spacious , well equipped ,top appliances, very comfortable.The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog . It was quiet and peaceful, definitely recommend a stay.

Beautiful setting around farmland and plenty of wildlife around.

The cottage was a good size and well equipped in the kitchen etc but the cleanliness was not perfect especially in the bath - dead spiders, hairs and bits of dirt in the bath.

The grout around the bath and shower needs redoing as there is mould in places. Kitchen tap was dripping - the owner was waiting on a plumber and did give advice on how to reduce the dripping. Towels were not very soft and they and the bedding was old fashioned as was the furniture - maybe needs updating a bit. No welcome pack/useful information pack which is a must in holiday accommodation now and no guest book to write comments in. A very peaceful setting with good access to main towns nearby and beaches further afield.

Super location if you want peace and quiet and you don’t mind driving out for the day but that’s where the good stuff ends sadly!

The property was dirty and dusty, it appeared to of not been cleaned before we arrived, washing machine tray for softener was absolutely disgusting with old, smelly residue and mould, towels were old and some were stained, cobwebs visible in windows and in rooms, shower badly leaked all over the floor in the ensuite, spa bath was not working and full of dirt in the jets and the lounge stank of wet dog! I had to clean on arrival before doing anything! The owner did explain about the tap in the kitchen dripping and we made sure to follow his instructions to try and stop the leak but it really didn’t work. The advert does mention isolated and that WiFi connectivity can be limited but it was non existent and with no phone signal you really are in the middle of nowhere and extremely isolated. There was old dog poo in the garden under the cut grass which was not good seeing as we had a child in our party who wanted to play outside and if we could clean up after our dog why can’t others! Not the best for my milestone birthday celebration week away and I am afraid that we would not return!

I think mention of the table-top freezer would be useful in the advert as it only mentions a fridge.

Also feel a "welcome pack" would have been greatly appreciated, especially for those travelling a long distance to get there.

We had a wonderful stay in Sunnymead Cottage.

It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with our German Shepherd dog Bear. It exceeded our expectations, good smart TV’s in lounge and bedrooms for cosy winter evenings in. There is a small tabletop freezer in the kitchen which isn’t mentioned on the listing which was a bonus. The garden is extremely well fenced, no escaping hound! Fantastic countryside walks from the doorstep! Gordon the owner was an absolute pleasure to meet! He couldn’t have been any more helpful! Looking forward to staying again! Alison & Mark

Very well equipped. Safe secure garden for our dog. Quiet, peaceful location but easy to get to the coast and other attractions.

The cottage is lovely.

Beds are really comfy, as is the three piece suite in the lounge. Kitchen is very well equipped, the oven/hob/microwave are all excellent. Brilliant to have a dishwasher & washing machine too, although we didn't use the washing machine (good sized rotary line outside+ pegs) (The only thing I felt was missing from the kitchen were some tongs & a couple of smaller microwavable bowls but that's it)The cottage is in the countryside, it's so quiet & peaceful! Shops/pubs etc are a short drive away, not able to easily walk to anything. Lots of parking at the property & the garden is a good size & fully enclosed. Two bathrooms plus an extra toilet downstairs was fantastic! All rooms are a great size. Worth mentioning that the wi-fi patchy, but the cottage is in the middle of nowhere! And signal isn't great in the general area. The property owner was friendly & chatty, & we enjoyed the fresh veg he kindly gave us! Despite awful weather we had a great week, loads of see & do in the area & beyond. This cottage really helped us to enjoy our holiday & would definitely recommend it! We hope to be back sometime! (A list of nearest shops, pubs, supermarkets, pharmacies etc would be very useful) Thank you for a brilliant holiday!

Previous feedback would suggest this was an unfortunate one off and the owner did say they were struggling to employ cleaners but we arrived to find the cottage hadn’t been cleaned other than possibly changing beds and emptying bins.

All 3 toilets had considerable excrement spatter and all 3 pedestals were sticky with urine and covered in hair. Sinks contained hair and toothpaste spittle. Bathroom floors were sticky and we spent our time in flip flops. The lovely jacuzzi bath was full of dried soap, hair and dirt so we couldn’t enjoy this. Kitchen was also unliveable. Food waste and crumbs from previous tenants covered the kitchen table, mats and work surfaces. Unwashed trays in the oven, spills in the fridge and the whole contents of crockery and cutlery had to go through the dishwasher as most had dried food remnants on. Lawn had been cut but grass cutting left on top which was dragged into the house on our feet and those of our dog. 4 plastic chairs, a rickety wooden table and a parasol base with no parasol is the extent of the garden furniture advertised, all placed on dirty patio slabs surrounded by weeds. No guest book, welcome/information folder or instructions for any of the electrical items in the kitchen. No hair dryer. Skirting boards were filthy and cobwebs adorned every wall and ceiling. We spent our first evening cleaning and left a day early as we just didn’t feel at home. The cottage is very spacious and in a remote location which we enjoy so if the owners were to show it a bit of love and attention it could be superb. Compensation agreed from Sykes and the owner for our discomfort, hopefully this will prevent the next guests arriving to the unacceptable conditions we faced.

Sunnymead is a cozy, comfortable and well equipped cottage and all whom sail in her are sure to have an enjoyable time.

Lovely, well equipped cottage, clean but a few areas would benefit from a deep clean eg.

mould around showers, bath and bedroom windows. Internet connection was intermittent. Friendly welcome & we would return.

Arrived, following really clear instructions provided down some small country lanes.

Place was perfect get away for a family of four and a dog. Everything we needed as a base to explore Devon and Cornwall. Easily able to access Bude from cottage.

Property, location and faculties are all great.

Really peaceful. Easy to get to, only a short distance on the narrow roads, but they were very quiet. Easy to get to the coast. Great walks in the local woods for dogs The only thing was it was grubby, very dusty skirting boards, bits of rubbish were on the floors, and the kitchen hob hadn’t been properly cleaned, all the handles were dirty and greasy

A wonderful holiday cottage - spacious and well equipped with parking and a lovely big secure garden.

It is a bit remote and you do need a car but we knew this and we had a brilliant holiday. Lovely owners too who are on hand if you want them but who do not interfere. Would definitely return again.

Cottage was lovely, warm, comfortable and homely.

It was nice to have such large rooms, a separate bathroom for our teenage children and an enclosed garden for our dog. Owner was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive, checking we had everything we needed and knew how things worked. The cottage was not as clean as I would have liked but I'm a bit picky and was happy to wash pots and wipe surfaces. The bedding looked clean which is what matters and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We would definitely recommend and visit again.

This cottage is lovely but very isolated.

Not suitable for young children, as stairs are steep and no stair gate. No hairdryer either.

Really lovely cottage lovely family who owned it made us really welcome gave us 6 eggs on arrival which was a nice touch.

Even though dogs were allowed wouldn't have known cleaned to a very high standard .

3 bathrooms including en suite in our bedroom, didn't realise this on booking so bonus!!

We came here 2 years ago and as then it is a beautiful cottage with everything you could need if not all you needed to-do was ask and Gordon would if possible get it for you.

Out in the sticks a bit but very quiet. Gordon ,Sally and George were fantastic .Our 2 weeks unfortunately had nothing but rain but nothing can be done about weather. We will at some point be back again. HOME FROM HOME.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a peaceful, quiet setting.

No main roads in immediate vicinity and very few near neighbours. Light pollution very low resulting in beautiful clear starry skies. Very good internet but no mobile signal so very good for getting away from it all but still able to keep in touch. Local lanes not busy so great for dog walking and nearby public footpaths (muddy) and forestry commission property trails (not muddy) excellent for walking. Mr Davis, the owner, is a kind and welcoming man who is available in case of any problems. Situated about 2 miles from local pubs and shops, and about 8 miles from nearest town. Good touring centre for Dartmoor, Exmoor, North Cornish Coast and North Devon Coast. .Thoroughly enjoyable.

Excellent country cottage with great facilities.

TV in every room, curved in living room. Great kitchen, freezer, fridge, micro wave everything a family could need. The main bathroom even had a whirlpool bath! Handy cottage for both coast lines. Village store near by. Good internet. Enclosed rear garden grassed for the kids to use. Patio furniture for those nice summer evenings, which we didn’t have! Beds comfy.

Beautiful area, peaceful and scenic, friendly helpful owner and we caught a glimpse of the resident barn owl, and the fenced in garden was a bonus for our escapee terrier

Sunnymead Cottage was everthing we could have wished for,.

Spotless, equiped with everything we needed and LARGE secure garden for the dogs. Large tv's and wi fi. The owner was very helpfull.

The cottage was lovely, modern, clean and well set out.

Never seen a spa bath before! All that we needed was at hand in the way of facilities. Manager was friendly and helpful. The cottage is well situated to visit the local area. There was only 2 of us but the cottage would be suitable for a family or group of friends.

Fantastic holiday accommodation.

Clean and very spacious. The enclosed garden was brilliant. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful location, if you are after a peaceful getaway then this is the place. We have been coming to Devon and Cornwall for over 15 years for our holiday and feel like we have found our perfect holiday home.

The Cottage was absolutely fantastic top quality fixtures and fittings .

Owner Gordan and family were fantastic if we needed something they were very quick to get it for us. Wonderful family We enjoyed our 3 weeks there. I have said we wouldn't book it again just because of its remoteness. We are disabled and can't walk very much so we missed not being able to go for a walk in the evening. But for someone wanting a week away it would be fantastic.

The cottage was beautifully maintained and offers all mod cons and the family who owned it were very friendly and always happy to offer advice and help.

It is remote but we wanted that and to us it was idyllic.

High end accommodation at a reasonable price.

Excellent facilities,immaculate. Highly recommend this barn conversion. Owners welcoming and should be proud of themselves.
