  • "Great accommodation!"

Lovely big garden and very clean and tidy inside. The beds were comfortable and there were even games for the kids Would definitely stay again if we were in the area

  • "Three Jays was lovely, spacious and at a peaceful location."

Smooth check in and the cottage was so comfy and furnished beautifully. We had everything, having a lovely and relaxing stay. The garden is lovely with lots of birds. We'll be sure to recommend to friends and family, and hopefully return ourselves!

  • "We liked the property it ticked the main boxes that we need for a holiday, it was quiet, private, warm, plenty of hot water, clean and comfortable bed."

Even though there are neighbours either side you can't actually see them as the property is surrounded by tall trees. Lanreath is a very quiet little village and there are safe walks from the property suitable for mobility scooter. Looe is only 6 miles away and Fowey close by via the ferry. Bodmin about 20 minutes away. The conservatory is a nice place to sit and take in the quiet and the sofa in there is comfortable. I think a few improvements would make the property even more appealing, the bathroom whilst perfectly useable could do with an upgrade and we had an issue with the shower door which the owner arranged repair the same day which we really appreciated. Its only a personal preference but I would remove some of the trees at the back to open the lovely view over the fields towards Bodmin from the conservatory. But all in all a nice place to visit.

  • "Lovely bungalow in nice garden."

The one thing we would have liked would be thicker bedroom curtains but apart from that all good. Lovely area for visiting Looe, Polperro, Eden Project etc... we enjoyed boat trips at Looe and Polperro. One day the toaster went wrong and took out the electricity. Sykes got in touch with owner who spoke to us and got it all sorted out, including delivery of a new toaster so very helpful. We would certainly recommend this property

  • "Good size rooms, comfortable beds, fabulous garden, it felt very private."

Great base for exploring beautiful Polperro and Looe, loved Carlyon Bay. Recommend Sue the local taxi driver, really reliable when you want to leave the car behind, takeaway fish & chips from Polperro Harbour and lunch at the Rashleigh Inn at Polkerris Beach.

  • "This is a nice, modern bungalow for a family stay, however unless Sykes have changed the listing it is not accessible for anyone with mobility issues although it is ground floor accomodation."

The bedrooms are accessed via a corridor which is quite narrow and dark so those with visual impairments or mobility issues may find this difficult.

  • "Three Jays cottage was lovely, a home from home."

It was ideally located in a quiet residential village and fairly central to get to all the attractions we visited. A car is recommended if you plan on staying here to give you the flexibility to explore Cornwall. The kids enjoyed playing hide and seek in the garden on an evening while we enjoyed the last of the sun on the raised patio area. The whole family really enjoyed our stay and will definitely look to go again.

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
