  • "Very comfortable and cosy cottage, with a lot of daylight and a high ceiling, which is unusual for a cottage."

    Nicely decorated, with comfy bedrooms, a big kitchen and a cosy garden. The view on the church and old bridge is great. Big smart tv with all the platforms. The upstairs shower was for our husbands (both tall) too small, but downstairs has also a good shower (and toilet) so that was no issue at all. For 2 couples it was the perfect house to relax in! Owner was very responsive. We only missed to have more cutlery, glasses and china at our disposal, so we could fill the dishwasher properly and didn't have to do these by hand. But that's easy to fix;-)

  • "We have just returned from a lovely week away."

    The cottage is clean and has all the comforts of home! Just on the outskirts of town it is ideally placed and a lovely view of the river. We will hopefully be back sometime in the future.

  • "Lovely little cottage on the banks of the river."

    One neighbour has appointed herself traffic/parking officer and makes no secret of the fact that visitors are not welcome and parking in the road is/should not be allowed. (no restrictions are on the road) However it's not too difficult to park in the road across the river, accessed by a pedestrian bridge. The cottage is fine, ideal for two or a small family. One thing must be remedied is the heating. It has a locked thermostat box. No problem with that but during the colder months the temperature must be raised. Having the internal temp.set to 21 degrees when the outside temp. is below zero will nit raise/keep the internal temp. sufficiently warm. Oyher than that a good holiday home.

As far as the heating is concerned I am disappointed that you did not contacted me whilst staying in the cottage. As stated in the welcome letter & my welcome message 'please do not hesitate to contact me if the times or temperatures do not suit'. I would have adjusted remotely to what you required.   • "Rainbows End is a true Cornish gem!"

    There’s not much I would change about this wonderful cottage. From the minute we walked in we felt at home, the open plan downstairs makes it feel very light and airy. The kitchen is very well equipped, the lounge is comfortable and the downstairs shower and toilet is a great advantage. The whole cottage was clean and decorated extremely well. The location is great too, 30 minutes to the coast each side, lots of amenities close by. We loved listening to the ducks on the river and the cockerel next door each morning! One duck in particular sounded like he/she was laughing just at the right times during our conversations :) We will definitely be returning, it was perfect!

  • "4.5ft Double bed unusable - no material covering the springs."

    We gave it up after one night. Two single beds usable, but no more than that. Exactly 4 knives, 4 spoons, 4 forks, 4 teaspoons, 4 tumblers, 4 wine glasses. Ridiculous. Heating remote controlled by owners, set too cold once the weather changed. Had to ask (twice) to get it increased, however the set operating times were very brief, only early morning and early afternoon. Advice? Bring loads of warm clothing and hats if booking outside of summer. Wall heater in lounge did not work. No instructions for dishwasher or lounge fire.

    I am saddened by your review. The bed is a standard Double bed as advertised, it has an orthopedic mattress of not a year old. The mattress was covered with a Silentnight mattress protector and a double fitted sheet,(as are the single beds) which were fitted prior to your arrival and still on bed after your departure. The cottage is equipped for up to 4 occupants . The heating is set to 21 degrees between 7am -10am and 4.30pm to 11pm which is in line with national guidelines, the cottage rarely drops below 18 degrees. The heating was adjusted on your request. The electric fire is a lounge visual feature . I was in conversation with your wife during your stay so I am a little surprised that all your issues were not bought to my attention so could be rectified Property Owner

  • "Cottage is situated along side a river which adds to the tranquility and peace and quiet you sought to escape the everyday rat race."

    Upon arrival the owner Jules had left fudge cookies and fresh produce which was very much appreciated and added a nice touch after a long journey . Cottage is bright cheerful open plan and is kept beautiful and clean all you could require is there . The ducks

  • "We had a lovely time at Rainbows End."

    We were really touched by the milk, biscuits and fudge left behind for us. The cottage has river views with ducks which was such a lovely sight every day. The property was very clean and well maintained. We would love to stay here again.

Rainbows End is a delightful, two-bedroom cottage tucked away in the tranquil Cornish countryside of Launceston.

With unrivalled river views and close proximity to local amenities, Rainbows End is a wonderful choice for families or friends, looking to enjoy inland Cornwall, whilst only a car journey away from Dartmoor National Park.

Park up to the roadside and take in your pretty, riverside position, before stepping indoors, reaching the open-plan living space, complete with a fully-equipped kitchen and neighbouring utility, dining space for four, and a lovely sitting area with electric fire.

Spend time together, preparing homecooked meals, dining, and socialising, or if you’d prefer some peace and quiet, find a quiet nook in the snug.

On sunny days, escape to the enclosed garden and bask in the sunshine, with a patio set to take advantage of, before completing your nightly routine in either the ground-floor shower room, or the bathroom.

The town of Launceston, situated on the Devon and Cornwall border, has wonderful architecture, including some fine Georgian buildings in the central square, and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle sitting high above the town. You can take a stroll to the Dog friendly Willow Tree Cafe and Woodland Walk or visit the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley on a 5-mile round trip. Launceston is within driving distance of the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow to the north, and Plymouth to the south, as well as the stunning Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. A superb base for exploring Cornwall and Devon.
