  • "The cottage itself is fine."

    Furnature lovely. Decor is nice. Unfortunatly was damp. Paint peeling from the walls. No curtain over the front door for warmth and privacy! Small bedroom was covered in small flies. I had to hoover them up! But they kept returming through the beams. Silicone could prevent this! That was dispite the spider website and spiders around. Even over the cooker hood. Kitchen needs updating . Im glad I took my own utensils. and cups ect. The floor was mopped on arrival and stayed wet untill the following afternoon. The upstairs was warm but downstairs was terribly cold the whole stay . In the summer im sure its warmer. But there is some attention needed to make comfortable. Could be a great place .

  • "This was the most disappointing cottage we've ever booked."

    Not only was it not ready for our arrival with dirty unmade beds, but the whole place was unclean. Not only the dirt and mess from the previous occupants but long term dirt. The whole place needs a deep clean. From food and thick dust under the bed, an absolutely disgusting toilet brush to dirty rug, floor and skirting boards. The toilet seat is almost falling off, the sink tap housing is broken and there appears to be no care and attention to the customer experience. This experience ruined our holiday. The owners turned up 4 hours later to change the beds without an apology or offer to clean. Far below the experience expected of Sykes Cottages.

The toilet seat was replaced prior to this message, and the tap has also been repaired—both issues we were unaware of until recently. As for the cleanliness of the property, we were not informed at the time. Had we received a message from you, we would have acted immediately to resolve it.     Pulled up to the door looked very shabby outside Smell of drains inside Floors uneven Hot water in bathroom too hot dangerous Beds too high and hard

    Thank you for your feedback. All points have been noted. The cottage frontage is Exactly as pictured? The hot water has been checked by a qualified plumber and is 60 degrees as advised. The floor is a beautiful rustic slate floor and is perfectly flat? The beds are 3000 pocket sprung super high quality matrasses of hotel quality as suggested by Cornish Cottage Holidays. The bed frames are the best quality oak standard height king Sized units. We made a trip to the Cottage the day you left and there were certainly no drain smells? We hope that we will be able to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "There was a continuous night and day humming coming some from some sort of equipment used for the apartment, very annoying when trying to get to sleep."

    Very small point square plates might look novel but with a small round sink is not very functional. Lovely area to stay and had a really enjoyable holiday.

  • "We had a lovely stay in the cottage, a few minor details would help, space for food in the cupboards, oven glove had a hole in it causing a small burn to my thumb, fridge was full of ice at the back and could do with defrosting, other than that comfy sofa and beds."

  • "The location was idyllic in the country."

    Reminded me of my life as a child. Ground floor a little claustrophobic but comfortable. The stone floor could do with a deep clean. The bedrooms and bathroom were nice and cosy. The only gripe about the bathroom is the floor again could do with a deep clean. The property is well furnished and well equipped. We feel that the water temperature from the ‘hot’ taps are scalding and could injure a child. The attached barns have some lovely wildlife. An Owl box in one barn and swallows in nests in another. Our dog and I saw the Barn Owl at 6.30am sat on a fence post only yards away in the lovely Orchard. It then flew off to a nearby tree. That Owl, the swallows and a Wren telling off our dog made the short break. Will definitely use Sykes again. Note: Please notify owner re Hot Water and deep cleaning of stone floor and bathroom floor. That said it was a lovely break away

  • "The cottage was one of the best we have stayed in."

    The bed was extremely comfortable. It was a pleasant change to have a comfortable sofa too. Everything was as advertised. Sometimes it was difficult to get Netflix easily on the TV as it was asking to verify the user. Maybe I wasn't using it correctly.

  • "We loved our stay at Keepers Cottage, good value for money."

    The place is getting tired and a make over wouldn’t go a miss. I guess it was summed up for us as the wooden plaque on the door three of the fixing screws failed and the plaque swivelled into an upside down position. I think it’s time the owners invested some of the revenue back into the property.

Nestled in the Cornish countryside in the small village of Moorswater near Dobwalls is Keepers Cottage.

Keepers Cottage sleeps two adults, making it the perfect location for a romantic couples' retreat to the countryside; there is also a single room available for one child.

After a busy day exploring the Cornish countryside and nearby coast, cross the threshold and begin your romantic retreat by cosying up with your partner on the sofa and flicking on the TV, then prepare a tasty meal in the fully-equipped kitchen.

The historic market town of Liskeard is located in South East Cornwall at the head of the Looe Valley. The town is home to a number of shops, pubs and restaurants. The beaches and harbour of the quaint fishing port of Looe is a mere 9 miles away. In-between there’s fishing at nearby Siblyback Lake, the Donkey Sanctuary at St Ann's Chapel, Cotehele House (NT) and gardens, and the championship golf course at St Mellion International Resort. Head to the world-famous Eden Project for a superb day out with the children. Even the maritime city of Plymouth with its historic Barbican docks area, outstanding shops, theatres and restaurants and the National Maritime Museum is only 30 minutes by car.
