Thank you for your valued feedback. We’re sorry that the cleaning sponge was missing during your stay - there should have been one included with the other cleaning items for our guests. The cleaning manager has explained that this was unfortunately overlooked by her cleaners while she was on holiday, and she has apologised for the oversight. We’re genuinely sorry for this and will make sure it doesn’t happen again. We really appreciate you bringing it to our attention and are delighted that you otherwise enjoyed your stay at Driftwood and the beautiful South Hams area.

Thank you also for bringing the bin and front door to our attention. We are rather perplexed as to where the kitchen bin lid has disappeared to, but we will be replacing the bin when we are at the park this weekend. We will also check the front door. The sticking at the bottom was most likely due to the exceptionally hot weather we've been having, as uPVC doors can expand and contract with significant changes in temperature. However, we will inspect it and make any adjustments if needed. For anyone considering a stay, although the park has around 263 one- and two-bedroom chalets, Driftwood is fortunate to be in one of the quietest locations, as most owners along our row don't let their properties for holidays. We're sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations and appreciate you taking the time to highlight these points. Regarding the smell you mentioned in the lounge/dining room, we would like to reassure future guests that the chalet has never had any damp issues and there is no damp present in the property. As this concern has not been raised by previous guests, it is possible that the smell may have been caused by the rug having recently been cleaned. Nevertheless, we take all feedback seriously and will thoroughly investigate the matter to ensure the chalet remains fresh, comfortable and enjoyable for all our guests. We are arranging for a shower mat to be provided to improve comfort and safety in the shower area, and we will also be reviewing your comments regarding the mattress although recently a deep mattress topper was added for additional comfort. We were sorry that the TV decided to stop working during your stay – and especially during the World Cup! However, we're delighted that we were able to resolve the issue quickly by installing a new TV the very next day, just in time for the England game. We always strive to respond promptly to any unexpected issues so that our guests can continue to relax and enjoy their holiday with as little disruption as possible. Thank you for your review and for highlighting the chalet’s sunny south-facing aspect, as well as the kitchen and bathroom facilities. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay overall. Guest comfort is very important to us, and while we have historically received excellent feedback regarding comfort and our beds, we will add deep mattress toppers during our next changeover clean. We appreciate that furnishings such as cushions are a matter of personal taste; many guests enjoy the cosy and welcoming feel they create, although they can easily be moved aside if preferred. With regard to the fridge, Driftwood is equipped with a standard under-counter fridge with freezer compartment, which is typical for a holiday chalet of this size and is generally well suited to accommodating the needs of up to four guests for short holidays. We are grateful for all feedback and continually look for ways to enhance the experience for future visitors.
