    Mr Blainey

“We had a few issues with the cottage: - There was no wi-fi or mobile signal available.”

This made it impossible to plan or book anything to do locally without a trip up the road. I'm aware that the cottage listing doesn't mention wi-fi anywhere but it would seem essential in an area that has no mobile reception either. All the other cottages seemed to have wi-fi networks except this one for that reason. Some of our neighbours were good enough to let us use there's when we needed to call anywhere but this couldn't be done from our cottage. ...

- The fridge in the kitchen needs to be fixed. It worked fine but is very small and all of the shelves inside the door are missing meaning you can fit even less in there. - The DVD player stopped working while we were there. Luckily we managed to get a DVD out before it stopped turning on all together. - The bed in the main bedroom is very small and uncomfortable. The room could easily accommodate something bigger. Other than the above we were very happy. It's a lovely cottage in a great estate. *** Owner Response *** Thank you for giving your comments after your recent stay at the Coach House. The property does not currently offer wi-fi which is accurately noted in the property description. Mobile phones can be used at Colmer - but given it's rural location signal is intermittent and some providers are better facilitated than others. The new fridge in the kitchen now has an added door shelf which will hopefully provide extra storage space. Unfortunately our stone built property which dates back to mid 18th century gives limited space to install a large kitchen! The DVD player has always worked well and unfortunately malfunctioned during your stay - it has since been replaced. The double bed is a standard double size and is a quality bed - no further comments have been received from other guests. I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday and benefitted from the many facilities provided at the Colmer Estate***

The property

The Colmer Estate is an exclusive collection of 20 holiday cottages set in 28 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.

A range of year-round indoor and outdoor facilities will keep the whole family entertained whatever the weather and include both an indoor and outdoor pool, fitness room, games room, children’s play area and a hard tennis court (bring your own racquets and balls).

Nearby, are many sandy beaches, including Bigbury on Sea where you can cross the water by sea tractor to explore Burgh Island and its elegant art deco hotel.

The popular towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth are both just a short drive away.

The original Coach House is now a detached, single storey cottage.

A traditional stone building, the open plan living area is bright and contemporary as are the three comfortable bedrooms - a double, a twin and a children's bunk room.

From the living area, French doors open on to the patio and front lawn, where you can enjoy the late summer evenings - and glimpses of the pool are visible through the archway of the gatehouse.
