  • "Lovely clean and well equipped cottage."

Our only concern was the access up 23 high steps and then a slope which proved very difficult to climb carrying a suitcase etc. we are fairly fit pensioners, but this put a strain on us ., and made a difference how many times we went out. This should be made aware of ,and may have affected our booking ,

Hi there, we do already mention steps in the listing for this reason. We are sorry these impacted negatively upon your holiday. We are glad you found the cottage to be clean and well-equipped - The Owner Relations Team. Property Owner

  • "Our first time at Wysteria and we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and spotlessly clean the cottage is."

The welcome pack was certainly a nice touch and extremely generous consisting of wine, chocolates, biscuits, cake, milk and even doggie treats. It certainly is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location, ideal for a couple looking for a relaxing holiday away from the noise. Also pet friendly, an added bonus, our little chihuahua loved it. We would definitely recommend Wysteria and we can't wait till our next stay there. Thank you for making our stay one to remember.

  • "The cottage was fantastic ,and everything we could have needed was provided ,and there was a very generous welcome gift for us too."

The only drawback in our own situation was it is at the top of a hill up a lot of steps and hilly bank from the car park which would not be any good to elderly and people bad on their legs .

Thank you for your feedback. We do mention that the property is accessed via a number of stone steps and would advise to get in touch with our helpful Reservations Team before booking to gather if a property is suitable. - The Owner Relations Team. Property Owner

  • "Wisteria cottage was the perfect cottage."

Stepping through the door we were greeted by a lovely slice of homemade cake, a bunch of fresh flowers, a packet of biscuits, a box of chocolates, a pint of fresh milk in the fridge and not to forget a jar of treats for our 4 legged family member. The cottage was warm and cosy and equipped with everything you could ever need and more. Darton and Maxine were the perfect hosts. Maxine looked after the cottage to a very high standard and served us in the restaurant she was always very pleasant to talk to and polite. Darton was the Chef who cooked the perfect Sunday Roast, which we ate in the restaurant and a lovely 3 course evening meal which he kindly delivered to the cottage as the restaurant was closed for evening meals at this time of the year (March). The cottage location was a perfect base for exploring the area. We would definitely recommend this Cottage to anyone and we will definitely be back for another stay.

  • "We had a lovely week at Wisteria Cottage and found the owners most helpful and the property was very well thought out with everything you need for a self catering holiday."

A lovely spot with great access to so many places. We had a dog and he enjoyed his morning walks up the steep hills! Fantastic views from the top so well worth the effort. Would definitely recommend and hope to re-visit at some stage when Compton Castle (National Trust) and right opposite the property is open. Thank you very much for all the thoughtful touches.

  • "We had a wonderful Christmas at Wisteria cottage, visiting family nearby."

The cottage is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It's very comfortable and cosy. The welcome pack from the owner was very generous and much needed after our long journey from Scotland. The location is very picturesque with a lovely big garden and many walks nearby. We would love to return again in the summer when the weather is better!

  • "What a fantastic little hideaway!"

Great facilities, from the well equipped kitchen to the comfortable bed. Immaculately clean. Table and chairs outside will be ideal in warmer weather to sit at and watch the local wildlife. If we could make one small suggestion, a little larger and more 'snuggly' sofa would just top off a stay at this delightful cottage.

  • "Loved our stay at Wisteria Cottage in a quiet, rural setting."

The cottage was cosy, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Only gave a 'good' for comfort as the sofa was definitely not comfy. This would, of course, not stop us highly recommending the cottage and we would love to stay there again.

  • "The cottage is an idyllic retreat for two."

Next door to the property is a cafe/restaurant and the owner is happy to provide meals and snacks delivered to the door. The terrace is a tranquil and perfect sun trap.

  • "The cottage was lovely."

Everything was new and matching. It was good to sit on the terrace taking in the scenery. The cottage could be improved by fitting a full length mirror. The only mirror is a small one above the basin in the en suite and it would be good to be able to see more than just your face.

  • "Beautiful little cottage."

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. The kitchen was amazing with everything you could need if you want to cook. The food at the tea rooms next door is really good. You do need a car to get around and there are steps and a steep path to get to the cottage so not good for people with mobility issues.

  • "Arrived to be met with some treats including a lovely lemon sponge cooked by Barton, who is the chef at the tearoom."

a nice touch much appreciated. Situated in a pleasant garden - we saw rabbits, robins, pheasants and various birds whilst sitting on the patio. Everything in the cottage was new although we found the chairs a little hard. The owners run a tearoom next door opened usually whilst the National Trust property opened. Also opened for Sunday lunch and we took the opportunity of sampling the dinner which was excellent and we were offered the choice of eating in or having the meal delivered to the cottage. The cottage is in a very quiet spot but close enough to the towns of Brixham, Paignton, Babbacombe and Torquay area of Devon. We look forward to returning sometime in the near future.
