  • "Lovely stay quiet place."

The only thing I would suggest would be that tea towels, oven gloves, and a bath mat should be suggested to bring. We was unaware of this and so did not bring these items. Overall I would definitely return knowing what I would need t being extra next time.

  • "Clean and basic with a little improvement wouldn't fault it for a short break."

However did find chairs and bed settee uncomfortable in lounge also shower would have benefitted from a shelf or holder to put toiletries in whilst showering and the addition of shower mat and handrail in the shower would help access in and out without the worry of slipping. Quite surprised that there was no cafe or restaurant on a site of this size and therefore had to travel out or cook in chalet for meals

  • "I have been a Sykes customer for a number of years & always enjoyed the quality of the accommodation."

However, although the chalet is in an unrivaled location, the overall cleanliness & lack of basic kitchen equipment left a lot to be desired. This took me completely by surprise because Sykes' standards are normally so high. The toilet stank of old urine & the floor behind it had not been cleaned for a considerable time. Furthermore, there was only washing up liquid & a couple of dishcloths to tackle it with & this shortcoming extended to the lack of cleaning equipment in general as there was only a broom & a dustpan & brush which made cleaning the bedroom carpets an impossible task & no chance of mopping the floor in the kitchen & bathroom without buying a mop & bucket. On the plus side, the bed was extremely comfortable & the bedlinen was clean. The TV signal was intermittent & continued thus even though the park staff attempted to fix it 3 times. I was also dismayed to discover that despite paying to use the park WiFi, my laptop informed me that there was NO security on the system. I did not complain to the park owners about the dirt & lack of equipment because I just couldn't face making a fuss but I want you to be aware so perhaps you can improve the situation for future guests. I hope this is just an unfortunate one off & not an example of a reduction in your standards.

  • "Very basic accommodation."

Don’t expect any comforts to be provided - minimal kitchen equipment, cushions on the sofa etc. Bring everything yourself. One of the windows in the double room did not close properly so allowed major drafts through it, whole place pretty cold (bring slippers!) and unfortunately we had to replace one of the heaters immediately as it didn’t work. However, maintenance staff tended to this quickly and efficiently. There was no WiFi throughout our visit even though we complained. Not a particularly comfortable stay but I guess you get what you pay for. However it’s a great holiday park; the heated swimming pool was a hit with the kids and there were lots of games to keep them occupied in the evening. Very quiet generally when we stayed at Easter. Beautiful area with lots of coastal walks and a great coffee shop and hotel for cream teas nearby within walking distance. Also an easily accessible local shop nearby in the village for everyday items.

  • "Staff welcoming."

a very compact chalet, very clean, and there was enough kitchen utensils for cooking etc etc. The guttering leaked when it rained and was windy, as splattered against the living room window. was central to popular locations by car and lovely walks and with the dog.

BRIXHAM

Dartmouth 5 miles; Paignton 6 miles; Torquay 8 miles.

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
