  • "The lodge was a lovely size."

    Very spacious. The site views and walks along the south coastal path made the holiday. The site facilities were very disappointing. No food served at The Cove at all and it was like a ghost town. Manager was very miserable and unwelcoming. We used the sister site Riviera Bay which was lovely. The camp seems to be more for owners than holiday rentals. Blessing was that Brixham Harbour was a half hour walk or 5 mins car drive. If it wasn't for the views and walks, we would have scored lower. One important point is the shop on site is a cupboard..not what I would call a 'shop'

  • "The photos I looked at when booking did give the impression that the Lodge was nearer to the sea view than it was."

    I would have booked anyway. It was very comfortable accommodation. There was less going on than we had thought there may be, the bar only open for 3 days but on the Saturday we went along for a drink at just after 9 pm and it wasn’t open.

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
