  • "We stayed at The red barn for Christmas."

We had never been away at Christmas time before so was a little unsure if what to expect, but Victoria and Tim were so helpful even before our holiday started. The kitchen is very well equipped, as is the whole place. The red barn is spacious and well laid out our family of 6 including 3 teenagers and a 3 year old had plenty of room. Everyone loved the pool. The pictures do not do the red barn justice it is far more beautiful. If you are considering booking then do it, we all wanted to stay longer.

  • "We had a lovely stay with a family of 4 + 2 dogs."

Excellent garden for the dogs to play in and inside a cosy cottage to relax in. The pool was a great addition.

  • "The Red Barn was a great place to stay for our 3 generations of family."

In fact we've already booked for next year! The owners were friendly and helpful. We loved the peace and beauty of the surroundings, the comfortable accommodation and of course the endless pool for our grandson.

  • "A lovely spacious property which was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 teenagers."

It was also perfect for our dog with a super large enclosed garden and glorious surrounding farm and countryside. Ideally located for exploring Dartmoor and a short distance from charming Tavistock and various shops and superstores. Excellent owners/hosts who were to hand for support with the indoor Endless Flow pool. The Red Barn was converted from a farm building in 2002 to a well proportioned, super holiday rental with quality furnishings. Some updating has been undertaken with scope for more in the near future. All in all a lovely week in a lovely house. Shame the weather wasn't suitable to enjoy the 0outside space!

The cottage was more than we could have wanted with the endless pool being the highlight of our stay. Both Victoria and Tim the owners of the Farm being so welcoming and friendly, we had breakfast at the farm 3 mornings which was lovely.

  • "This is simply a perfect holiday house for families in all seasons."

We (my husband, 17 & 11 year old sons, Dilys the dog and I) visited the The Red Barn for a February half term break and were extremely impressed with the house and facilities. The location is simply perfect, very quiet with beautiful views across farmland and out to the moors. The house itself is spacious and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a family holiday. The pool is a huge bonus and so convenient as it's actually part of the house. The beds were extremely comfy and the heating works very well so the house was always toasty which was very important in February. The owners were kind and helpful - I'd love to go back one day soon please!

The cottage was well equipped everything that you needed was there Beds were comfy and lovely location hosts were friendly The only issue was that the host wanted to maintain the pool while it was being used and the children all had to get out which ruined their time in the pool

Thank you for taking the time in leaving feedback. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but I am sure you can appreciate that it is most important to maintain a high health and safety standard keeping guests safe. We hope to able to welcome you back to The Red Barn. Property Owner

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

Pictures do not do the property justice. Beautiful house in a picturesque location. Outstanding views of the fields and sheep. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable living area and lots of space. Cot and high chair provided for the children. Clear instructions for the pool. Excellent communication from the owner. Would highly recommend.

  • "Th Red Barn is in such a peaceful location."

It is truly stunning. We stayed as a family of four with our dogs and enjoyed wonderful walks, lovely trips to Tavistock for the shops and cafes and there are some great local pubs a short drive for food and drinks. The barn has what you need, and the bedding is wonderful. The pool is a great extra, our children had never swum against a current before! Final comment - the barn was so lovely and warm throughout our stay and the lounge photos don't do it justice!! Thank you for a lovely stay!

The Red Barn is a lovely traditional farmstead hidden in trees on the edge of open Dartmoor, a few miles from the Devon village of Lydford.

This country home is situated a short stroll away across fields from the farmyard.

With two other holiday homes, you enjoy access to the 250-acre farm with its farm animals, a pond for picnicking beside, and wildlife, and you are even welcome to help on the farm if you wish.

There are all kinds of wonderful activities available here.

There is a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court (shared with the owners), plus a games room and a well-equipped gym in an adapted barn.

You can arrange to experience clay pigeon shooting and archery, or have fun playing badminton or volleyball.

Golf and gliding are on offer just a couple of miles from Burnville Farm.

With direct access to the open moors from the farm, this is lovely walking country, and you can arrange to use mountain bikes too or bring your own horses.

With seasonal eggs and veg available, plus the option of meals in the owners' house or professional catering in your own holiday home, you can feast like kings.

The hall leads into the big living room with a wood-burning stove and French windows to the terrace.

The pretty kitchen with a dining area is well-equipped, and through a lockable door is your own 'endless flow' indoor swimming pool with a treadmill and rowing machine.

Upstairs, the three bedrooms are all en suite but with their own character.
