Immaculately clean and equipped well beyond our expectations, staying in Devonair with the delightful town facilities of Westward Ho! a very short stride away, has has help to some create some very happy holiday memories for us and our two grandchildren .

  • "Fantastic property!"

A home from home, everything you good wish for. Lovely touch with the Doggy welcome pack. Super clean throughout, in a nice location for Westward Ho! and other locations in Devon

  • "The house was beautifully clean and equipped with everything you could need."

We loved sitting on the balcony watching the golf course and beach - although you can see right into the house over the road. My dog and I struggled with the stair carpet due to the colour and depth perception, but that was the only problem we had. The furniture and bed were very comfy and overall it was a wonderful place to stay.

  • "Immaculately presented property with comfortable beds and a safe enclosed garden ideal for our dog."

Provision of "mud daddy" which was useful and a hose made for easy cleaning of our dog. A well equipped kitchen with useful printed information on all electrical appliances etc. Constant hot water and parking as stated. 20 minute walk to beach across private access gate and then onto golf course/toll road to beach. Beautiful sandy beach accessed by pebble ridge which was a challenge but we managed it and we are in our seventies! Nearby Tesco Express and good take away fish and chippy. Easy access to all beautiful points in North Devon in particular Hartland Point, Heddon Mouth, Branscombe Woods and Tarka Trail not forgetting Saunton Sands through Broughton sand dunes. Definitely recommend this property.

  • "What a gorgeous house in a fabulous location."

The house has lovely views from the balcony, perfect for the evening and the garden is a little sun trap, perfect for the morning coffee before heading out. So much to see and do in the area, and the beach, surf school, town are all a short flat walk away. We’ve been coming to North Devon for the last 18 years and this is the cleanest holiday home we’ve ever rented and was one of the best holidays we’ve ever had in Devon. Highly recommended.

Lovely very clean house with almost everything you could possibly need for a holiday. Addition of a Hot Tub would be fantastic. And super dog friendly!

Noticed small changes for the better, such as obscuring the side window upstairs. Really enjoyed both stays, thank you.

  • "This is a really lovely property."

It has everything you would need and it is very stylish. It really felt like home. We had a very minor issue and the owner was very responsive and the matter was resolved. The location of the property is great for exploring the local area but also close to amenities so that you can easily dine out in the evening. The property allows dogs but you would not know it. I say that from a very positive perspective. There are no signs or aromas to give previous dogs away but there was a lovely welcome pack for our dog. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay there again. I would add that I think Sykes Cottages have handled us, as customers, exceedingly well during the pandemic and are now our first choice when looking for holiday accommodation. Thank you.

The house was very comfortable and well appointed with lovely touches such as the supply of portable barbecues. It was a shame that the weather did not cooperate but it did not spoil our enjoyment.

  • "Wonderful holiday at Devonair ."

The house is outstanding and all our needs were met . Lovely surprise to have on arrival the Devonshire cream tea ,thank you ! We found the beach at Westward Ho rather rocky and difficult to get on to ,both of us are pensioners. Then 10 minutes down the road was Instow a firm favourite and also for my dog Mr.Darcy .The little beach shack is a must for delicious fresh fish finger baps .( The glorious oyster ) We would love to return.

  • "The holiday house was lovely."

We are very familiar with the area so knew exactly the location of the development. We thought the “doggy” present for our pet was a very nice touch, and the cream tea was very thoughtful. Parking for 2 vehicles was right outside the property which was a bonus. The house was very well equipped, especially if you like to cook for yourself, and the “Mud Doctor” (shower for the dog) was great, we hadn’t come across one of these before and hope to purchase one ourselves! We would definitely recommend Devonair especially if you bring your dog, ours slept like a baby!!

  • "Devonair was one of the best holiday homes I have stayed in, it was so clean and the equipment, cooker, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer made for a good holiday."

The nice touches like afternoon tea, scones, jam and cream left for us to have on arrival were very appreciated. The only disappointment was it was not close enough to the beach to walk there, the advertisement and photos of devonair made the beach look closer!!

Thank you for your feedback. Guests can walk to the beach via a private footpath, which is for the exclusive use of Greenway Drive occupants. It can be accessed by the 5-bar gate on the sea facing side of the development. We carry our surfboards down to the beach, via the private footpath, every day when we are in occupation. We agree that it would be a longer walk if you go around by the road, rather than across the footpath. We have now detailed how to access the footpath in our information guide within Devonair, for the benefit of future guests. Property Owner
