  • “Personally found the beds a litttle soft and would have liked to have been able to have bedroom windows opened a little at night but they did not have a catch to do that.”

    Over all an excellant house to stay in. It might be useful to visitors to know of the single tract road to the locations which did occassionally cause issues when meeting a car coming the opposite way.

The property

Kittiwake is situated on the banks of Noss Creek in the charming village of Noss Mayo, located within the South Devon AONB. This detached cottage offers a wonderful modern holiday home for friends and families alike, looking to explore this beautiful unspoilt countryside area.

There are three lower ground floor bedrooms; one double, one twin/double, and a single with an en-suite w/c shower room that can only be accessed via the garden or balcony, ideal for a teenager looking for some privacy.

The family bathroom has quality fixtures and fittings, with a bath and shower over.

Underfloor heating and dual-heated towel rail ensure comfort for all seasons.

Outside is a bespoke and imaginatively landscaped enclosed sunny garden, allowing you to sit outside and enjoy this beautiful setting.

A charcoal barbecue and fire pan are provided for guests to use.

The property has the benefit of two parking spaces and a garage for storage of kayaks, paddle-boards or bikes.

Noss Mayo is a beautiful, thriving waterside village situated on the turquoise creeks of the River Yealm.

Along with neighbouring Newton Ferrers, this area is a paradise for lovers of sailing, kayaking and all water based activities.

The villages boast 3 excellent waterside pubs and a Yacht Club, all within walking distance.

Noss Creek is sheltered and safe for swimming, paddling or crabbing.

From our amazing waterside location, take advantage of the beautiful walks along the nearby coastal paths.

Noss Mayo is the perfect place to start and end walks along the coast, with local pubs offering food and drink before or after your walk.

There are numerous glorious sandy beaches nearby, some within walking distance and others a short journey by car.

For hill walkers, Dartmoor is only a 15 minute drive.

The village and surrounding area has long had an allure for artists.

For creative guests, bring your paints along as you will find much to inspire in the near vicinity.

Close-by Plymouth has many attractions such as the National Marine Aquarium, the art-deco Lido, the Royal William Yard and the Barbican from where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail.

Numerous National Trust properties are nearby including the extravagant Georgian Mansion at Saltram House and Buckland Abbey, the residence of Sir Francis Drake.

Newton Ferrers 1 mile; Plymouth 10 miles

The charming creek side village of Noss Mayo is hidden away on the banks of the beautiful Yealm Estuary. The area is blessed with many coastal and countryside walks. Local beaches, Stoke and Cellars are just a three-quarters of a mile walk. The village is home to two excellent waterside pubs with river views, both of which offer superb meals using the best of local produce.
Across the water, the village of Newton Ferrers, which has a local butcher, chemist, Post Office and general grocery store, may be reached on foot via causeways at low tide. A seasonal ferry also operates between Noss Mayo, Newton Ferrers and the SW coastal path to Wembury. The surrounding South Hams area is well known for its award-winning, sandy beaches and also for the breath-taking beauty of the Dartmoor National Park. All are all within easy reach, as are interesting towns and villages such as Totnes, Salcombe, Dartington and Modbury. The city of Plymouth with its shops, Marine Aquarium and Barbican quayside area is just 10 miles away.
